This is just sad

I made a post earlier about some positives with this team. But now with lindor out, a second loss to the Rockies, and an empty stadium, idk what to be positive about anymore. Still gonna support my team since I love baseball but it’s a shame what Stearns did to this team overnight. It’s always LGM but this has been tough…

I kinda think Stearns actually is in trouble now

This is getting so bad so fast, and almost every single move he’s made has backfired so spectacularly, that, whatever ‘long term’ vision Stearns may have had now has to also be questioned by Uncle Steve right around now. This is no longer a mere 1992 -like disaster, this is a full-blown 1993 catastrophe! This may literally the worst team money has ever bought in the history of North American big league sports.!

This Mets team has zero heart.

In years past, a “players only” meeting would’ve taken place. With Lindor injured, and his ego “hurt” (that he wasn’t named team captain, no one is willing to be the leader of the clubhouse. Where then does that responsibility fall when there is no “team captain?” The manager. Mendoza has never once gotten angry or called anyone out in his time as Mets manager. It’s a disgrace. This team has no heart, the manager holds no one accountable for anything. These new players on the squad look uninterested and will not stick around after this season (if they make it passed the trade deadline). This team is F’d. Thanks Stearns.

Just a matter of time before Soto checks out imho…

If we retain Stearns and the losing continues over to the next season, I’d be hard pressed to see Soto not try to finagle to his way over to a team with a winning history and competitive mentality.

The Mets have shown Soto that they are an unserious team since he came over.

We’ve really done a bunch of nothing to cultivate a World Series winner.

Imagine if McLean wasn’t a thing?? Soto would be the only A+ member of the team.

The clock is ticking (at least I think). What are your thoughts?

This team is horrid, season is a disaster, but I cant stand out loser fanbase either.

Did I like the moves that were made? Absolutely not. But there is a good section in this fan base that would have never rooted for a guy like Jorge Polanco, for example, even if he did well, simply because he was Pete's replacement. This fan base clings to sentimentality at such a high level because that's all they know because this franchise has produced nothing but losers.

HOWEVER..if you are either wanting the team to lose, or larping on reddit about how "yeah, Juan Soto really should never have chosen us".. please just stop representing this team and fanbase, because it's the most pathetic energy and I dont want you in my foxhole during this nuclear wasteland of a season.

If I'm Soto, I'm seriously questioning my decision to join this damn team.

For real, yes, he got a BAG. BUT, he was offered that elsewhere as well. With how last season ended and this one began, I can't imagine the second guessing he must go through in his head with how we've been run. Almost feel bad for him.

Just fire Mendy already; Stearns should be gone too

These games are terrible. Full of talking points when doing their interviews. Go away

David Sterns has to go.

After 2024, all his decisions have not worked out. Soto is an exception because that was steve.

FIRE MENDOZA

Carlos Mendoza should never step foot in the Mets clubhouse again after today’s games. It’s long overdue and time we say enough is enough before this season gets even more out of hand. He’s had 3 years to prove himself and has done nothing besides for the lucky 2024 run which was more of a reflection of the players at the time, who are also mostly all gone now thanks to our lousy GM David Stearns, who should also be fired immediately! Alex Cora has become available at the perfect time, and the Mets would be missing a huge opportunity to not get him. Additionally, Trevor Bauer just threw a no hitter for the Long Island Ducks. Why don’t we sign him too? He’ll literally play in the MLB for nothing and would be a HUGE upgrade from useless Kodai Senga and Sean Manaea. And unfortunately it might be too late for this, but it would sure be nice if we could get rid of self-centered communist Francisco Lindor and bring back Alonso and Nimmo.

Senga

If we could convince a team to trade for Senga, and be willing to eat some of the contract, would that be worth it?

He’s still a decent player, but not meant for this team…

I think he’s more valuable than McNeil was in the scenario of a trade.

Sunday Funday

My trip from Northern Virginia to New York

$70.00 in tolls

$75.00 for tickets

$50.00 for parking

$70.00 for gas

$65.00 for food

$35.00 for various stuff

10 hours driving

Watching the Mets kick me in the balls in person TWICE… priceless!

What a boring team.

Is it still too early?

Worst team in baseball since last June. 40 years of failure. Sadly Mendoza will wind up being the sacrificial lamb. The good news is Stearns is so much smarter than us and I’m sure he’ll fix it. All of his moves have worked so well.

Not resigning Iglesias who was the vibes guy on that 24 team. When the guy was BEGGING to come back.

Handing out 17M a year for Frankie Montas.

Not even entertaining giving Pete a contract and trading Nimmo, the longest tenured Met for the corpse of Marcus Semien. Definitely NOT because of politics, though.

Doesn’t offer a real 1B a contract, instead signs an injury prone 2B to play 1B because analytics say you can just stick a glove out there and anybody can do it. You know who CANT do it? Baty and Vientos. Baty who is in year 5 of not recognizing a breaking ball and embarrassing himself in the field and Vientos who is the cockiest .220 player of all time.

LouBob couldn’t play game 2 today because he needs his rest. He’s a 28yo athlete and let’s be honest, baseball isn’t the most athletic sport. He can’t play 18 innings? Why trade for him?

I’m at the point where I just watch this team and wait for someone that Stearns specifically got to throw up on themselves to make him look like the fool he is.

But keep giving us that smug smile because you went to Harvard and know more than us. The Unabomber went there too.

Twice

They've had bases loaded with one out twice and not even able to get one run in. This is probably one of the worst teams I've seen in a while. I feel bad for McLean, taking the L with another win worthy game on the mound
