I'm planning to run the Rome Marathon next year and have a question about the non-competitive registration category for foreign runners. I was thinking about registering as non-competitive since getting a medical certificate and Runcard feels overly complicated (especially here in Sweden). Now I have two questions for the ones of you who already have run Rome.

1. Corral placement

I've read that corral assignment is based on your declared personal best regardless of whether you're registered as competitive or non-competitive. Meaning a non-competitive runner targeting sub-3h should land in the same front corral as competitive runners at that pace. I was running sub-3:10 on my last marathon so I don't want to be placed far in the back. Can anyone confirm this from personal experience? I'm a bit nervous about ending up in a slower wave just because of the registration category.

2. Using the Rome result as proof of time for seeding at other races

My goal isn't to qualify for anything like Boston. I just want to use the Rome finish time as a seed time when registering for future races here in Europe. So I start in the right corral. These races typically just ask you to declare a recent marathon time during registration without verifying if it's competitive/non-competitive. Has anyone had issues using a non-competitive Rome result for this purpose, or does the chip time from Rome work just fine?

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Exhaustion post marathon

Hi all

I'm just over 3 weeks post Brighton marathon and still feeling exhausted. Trying to do parkrun on a Saturday and getting >3 mins off my normal times... is this all normal? When will I feel back to my normal self? Anything I can do to help this recovery? Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙏
