We have an approximately three-year-old Belgian Malinois mix who was brought in as a stray today, May 2. She weighs 65.5 lbs. and is heartworm negative. She arrived with an injured right rear leg, possibly hit by a car. Despite her injury, she remains a friendly girl in desperate need of immediate placement.

4/20/2026: The dog greeted me at the front of the kennel with a neutral body. She walked well on a loose leash to the dog run. After leaving her in the dog run, she started to get vocal and whining, and jumping on the fence. Went back to get the dog, walked her back to her kennel and soon as I close the kennel door and walk away she started vocalizing.

4/24/2026: Hunter greeted me at the front of the run with a wagging tail and wiggly body.Hunter walked on a semi-loose leash and showed no interest in treats

4/25/2026: While in the outside runs, Hunter was consistently alarm vocalizing as I passed by her with or with out a dog. She was walked on a semi-loose leash due to forward pulling on the leash slightly and paid little attention to other dogs as they passed her by in his kennel in South and in the outside runs. She did a good good job keeping his kennel clean overnight and likes treats and pets as well.

5/1/2026: Very relaxed in kennel. Dog was laying down until i started to baby talk her. She then came forward and allowed me to leash her. Due to weather i tethered her to the wall and she was quiet and relaxed with a wagging tail as i cleaned her kennel.

Bogey is only 2 yrs old and can’t believe his family abandoned him🥺

That’s what makes this hurt so much.

He is still looking for the family who left him and hopes every person who walks by is there for him. The truth is, that’s just the shelter staff because he’s being kept in a building out of public view…

Bogey should have years ahead of him. Instead, he was left behind, and now sits on death row waiting for strangers to decide if he matters enough to save.

He is a young, gorgeous, intelligent GSD/ Mal mix who needs the right person, real structure, and a real chance. He is social with dogs, seeks affection, and still responds to human connection even after being failed.

He needs a foster, rescue, or adopter TODAY.

🚨His final notice expires today 4/30 and he will be euthanized tomorrow 5/1🚨

Bogey can be Barrier reactive in the kennel but with correction and guidance, he is able to settle. He is easy to leash and handle overall, though he may pull strongly.

In the yard, Bogey is social with other dogs, engaging in play and responding to corrections when needed. He has a pushy play style and would do best with appropriate dog matches. He also seeks attention from handlers and enjoys interaction.

During handling, Bogey was tolerant of petting and showed no aggression, though he was slightly sensitive when his legs were handled.

On March 29, 2026, a female pedestrian was bitten on her buttocks by Bogey as she was walking past the dog owner’s property. He reportedly ran up behind her and bit her resulting in a puncture wound.

Needs Malinois-experienced foster for 3–4 months or responsible adopter (anywhere in the U.S to the right home) before tomorrow morning.
