I can't have this conversation again.

People keep complaining about it, and they're right. There's a million other words you can use to denigrate someone's intelligence or character, and at a certain point it's just hack to use the same one you've been using since middle school.

You're not fighting some noble uphill battle to prove your unbowed unbent unbroken credentials against the wokescolds, you're just making disabled people feel bad. Also half the time comments containing the word just get auto removed by Reddit filters anyway. I know that a lot of the most militant anti saying retard people are deeply annoying liberals, but when you insist on using the word the effect is not owning Kamala Harris voters so much as making actual disabled people feel bad.

It doesn't matter if you self diagnose as autistic or whatever you so you think you're "allowed to say it" It doesn't matter that Nick Mullen says it and most of us consider him pretty funny. IT doesn't matter if people bullied you by calling you that as a kid. It doesn't matter if you think "no I love actual mentally disabled people, I'm just using the word retard to mean 'asshole'" The point is a lot of people keep asking us to stop people saying it, and it really takes no effort on any of your part to accommodate that.

As it is, when there's a comment the entire content of which is "look at this retard" "you are so retarded" "retarded bitch" etc we will remove that and probably ban the commenter because it's reflective of a bad attitude and low effort posting that makes the sub a worse place. If somebody writes a lengthy generally good post but at some point uses the word "retard" off handedly in between other more thoughtful points, that's more difficult and we probably won't remove the entire post for that alone, but it would be a lot cooler if you just used another word so people won't constantly report your otherwise fine post and message us asking to remove the post and puts us in a weird position.

It's really not hard. When you use the word, you're in the same league as Elon Musk and that ilk devoted to destroying the woke mind virus. You're adults, by and large, you don't need to talk like Cartman forever. It's a change that requires like no effort from you and would make a lot of people feel better. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Edit: Fucking hell why is this like the most intense debate ever on this sub? It's just a fucking word that people who already have a very hard life would in general prefer you not to say, it costs you nothing to be considerate toward them. I'm not the mean teacher putting you in detention for being naughty you fucking dorks, I'm just politely asking people to be more considerate of the feelings of people who already have enough shit to deal with. It costs you nothing

Enough is enough

I get that we’re all just a bunch of traumatized former Cumtown fans.

I get that we’re all scared that within a decade Jace will be in movies with Emma Stone, Devan will be interviewing Pete Buttigieg (and hopefully having sex with him after), and Ben will disappear for a year and then write on the roast of Kai Cenat, but can we just enjoy it while it lasts?!?!

As an ex-Destiny guy (I deserve Hell) who moved away from all that debate crap and got back into comedy, it’s really disturbing to see this community get one shotted by one gay ass “debate” type interaction.

What the hell are you guys even here for? I thought we all knew Ben was just a weird schizo shut in and that was the appeal?! No idea how a has-been mediocre hack comedian being more normal and well adjusted than him is some kind of earth shattering revelation for some of you.

If it is, fix yourself or perish!

Pendejo Time kicks ass

See a lot of people here that were Cum Town fans and miss it so they gravitated to Lemon Party and are getting burnt out on the vitriol and hate. I still love Lemon Party but Pendejo Time is sillier and goof oriented. A good palette cleanser after a Lemon Party ep.

It creeped me out to learn that Ben is a legitimately strange person

Ripping on Jeff Dye was funny to listen to - even though it got repetitive at times - but seeing Ben on his show really creeped me out.

Yeah Jeff sucks donkey ass and thinks too highly of himself, sure, but when facing off Ben we got hit with a real-world situation between two online personalities. Jeff is an actual adult, trying to be civil and hold a logical conversation. While Ben is just really fucking strange, completely out of touch with reality and absurdly childish.

I love the guys, but this interaction really weirded me out with the realization that Ben's fucked up for real and it's not an act.

Sorry I just can’t get past the idea that a-list comedian legends are pulling Ben aside at the Comedy Store to say "thank you for your service" against Jeff Dye

The idea that an A list comic or anyone else gives a shit about Jeff dye being such a meanie that they consider Ben to be a hero for “taking him down” on a zoom call is delusional.
Since when did Devan and Ben become such Comedy store little darlings anyway? I thought they were hated by these people.
Also, Ben’s entire thesis for months was that Jeff is an arrogant Hollywood hack who never takes accountability or admits he's wrong. Yet when Ben got all butt-hurt about Jeff saying he "wasn't a comedian," Jeff immediately explained he was just quoting Ben's own bits, literally said, "Well then I take it back," and conceded the point in real-time like a normal adult.
I am not a Jeff dye fan at all, and he may be a horrible person, but Ben wasn’t funny, he was honestly pretty cruel. Everything he tried to accuse Dye of, ie being cruel or not admitting he’s wrong is exactly what Ben himself was actually doing. The Cope and then the gaslighting of his own fans behind a paywall (after claiming on after tonight his content isn’t paywalled btw) very disappointing, boys!!
