Hey all! I have a Crown Graphic, and I'm wanting to find a flash solution...without uaing flashbulbs. I've heard that some people use the Vivitar 283. Can anyone explain to me exactly how to use the Vivitar 283 with the Crown Graphic? Can you tell me what cord I need, what settings to use on the flash and on my camera?
Or if you have a better solution, can you tell me about it? Thanks so much!

So I've been curious about LF since forever, and I know there are many 4x5 models for 3D printing out there. But my 3D printer isn't reliable enough to print bulky pieces, so I can't really do it for the time being.
At the same time, there's a few laser cutters at school begging to be used. I know there are commercial LF cameras that look possibly laser cut (Intrepid, Bulldog), and Intrepid cameras are on sale right now, but money is tight so I'd like to try to build a camera myself.
Issue is I haven't been able to find open source instructions / drafts for laser cutting like there are for 3D printing, and not owning a LF camera already, I don't really know all the details involved in making the parts light tight and compatible with standard lens boards, film holders, ground glass, etc... let alone the hardware bits to make camera movements possible.
Then the issue of the bellows, that for some reason scare me (it looks like quite an involved thing to fold and I don't know if I can do it in finite time).
Has anyone attempted such a DIY project? What gotchas are there? Is it doable or should I just buy an Intrepid and forget the whole thing?
Best place to sell a Schneider Symmar-S 300mm copal 3? I have two brand new red 29 and 3 stop nd filter for it to, on an intrepid lens board
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a realistic market valuation for this extensive Linhof Technika (not sure of the series) (4x5) kit. Everything has been sitting for a long time but seems to be in good cosmetic condition. I have confirmed the bellows are light-tight and the rails move smoothly.
I’m curious: Does anyone else here use platform mounting for their large format or ULF prints? I’m finding for my panoramas on rag paper, they keep the piece pretty stable. As opposed to a t-hinge, no tape comes in contact with the print itself, reducing the likelihood of it buckling as the fiber-based paper expands and contracts from changes in humidity. I picked the idea up from veteran framer Jim Miller on the Picture Framer’s Grumble (thegrumble.com).

This one is going on display at the Chicago Cultural Center in August as part of the Midwest Large Format Asylum’s exhibition, The Big Picture.
We recently moved to a new, much larger, modern factory to support our continued growth in the production of darkroom equipment, shutters and lenses. To celebrate this, we are offering 15% off the Intrepid 4x5, the camera that started our journey 12 years ago. The discount will be applied automatically at checkout.
While I already have a graflex, I wanted to play around with a monorail style camera for some studio stuff. I already owned a 3D printer and thought I'd try one of the designs that exists already for these. Made a few modifications to the Vega 4x5 camera to fit the equipment I had and pretty happy with the results
I've been using a community darkroom in my area to learn how to print for the past 6 months or so. Finding out one of the enlargers can handle 4x5 gave me the push to go out and shoot more with my Toyo View. This was far and away the best negative I had and the print turned out great!
Camera: Toyo View 45G(got a workout carrying that around)
