Let’s talk mounting and framing…
I’m curious: Does anyone else here use platform mounting for their large format or ULF prints? I’m finding for my panoramas on rag paper, they keep the piece pretty stable. As opposed to a t-hinge, no tape comes in contact with the print itself, reducing the likelihood of it buckling as the fiber-based paper expands and contracts from changes in humidity. I picked the idea up from veteran framer Jim Miller on the Picture Framer’s Grumble (thegrumble.com).

Made with an in-camera negative from a 105-year-old Cirkut No.10 and 16.5” Schneider Repro-Claron on Ilford HP5+ aerial film expired 2004. This one is going on display at the Chicago Cultural Center in August as part of the Midwest Large Format Asylum’s exhibition, The Big Picture.
