This performance has helped me so much in life.

I’m in public speaking and I’ve messed up and humiliated myself plenty of times. One of the reasons I’m still able to speak without beating myself up is unironically because of this video. I genuinely find it inspiring how infront of presumably millions of people watching live, she messes up but still keeps professional and just sings even though you can tell she’s nervous and struggling. Years later and she’s still pumping out great albums and has had legendary live moments. Goes to show even the greats will have their silly moments but ultimately, that doesn’t define them. Now, whenever I feel embarrassed about something I did on stage—I watch this video and keep going. Godbless the SNL performance.

Lana’s accent changes

I know everyone thinks her accent changes are iconic but I just find them so cringe and inauthentic kinda like Ariana Grande, like it’s very much giving identity crisis.

Today is May 10, Mother's Day, the same day Lana posted her heartfelt Mother's Day message 6 years ago

It's truly heartbreaking to read the message (I knew she wrote it but I never got to read it) and since today is Mother's Day and I am fortunate enough to have a very good relationship with my mother (who in turn did not have a very good relationship with her mother), so she was adamant on not passing it down to me. I try not to be curious but I can't help but sometimes wonder what happened with Lana and her mother after her career circa Lust for Life era, so 2017. because from her adolescence it seems they had a tumultuous relationship but Lana's mum would be seen in the early stages of her career, then it seems since then they haven't been talking or seeing each other since. this whole time I thought Lana's parents were still together, but then I found out interestingly also her dad and mum had separated, although I don't know precisely when. Of course we will never know what really happened between Lana and her mother other than hints of lyrics she drops in some of her songs. anyhow, having witnessed that breathtaking moment and being told by my mother that I was the very reason she decided to forgive her own mum for everything, I hope that one day Lana can too. if what her mother did was truly horrible and unforgivable I'd totally understand if their relationship wasn't able to be mended. but of course knowing that she doesn't get on well with her mother makes me sad as well as for other people who have mummy issues that might find solace in Lana's songs. i hope that you can read her message and feel a sense of release of past traumas (we all have them) and find a way to move forward.

Give your thoughts- Lana del Rey Live: Million Dollar Man

I posted earlier today about how I love Lana del Rey, even though a lot of trained professionals disagree with her singing technique. I’d like to show this performance as an example- I LOVE this performance and the grittiness in her voice that she adds. But to a trained professional it probably doesn’t sound good. I’d love for yall to comment whether you are a trained professional & if you like this performance or not + what you like/don’t like, that way we can see the direct difference in opinion in those who are trained vs untrained. Lana herself makes fun of these performances she did but a lot of her fans (like myself) really enjoy how she experimented with her voice! Shame that she was basically bullied out of singing like this

Observations

i’m 27 year old girl for reference. it seems to be very prevalent from every single post or comment on this sub that majority people here must be extremely young or have no education or experience of life whatsoever

no one seems to be able to understand nuance or history of artists

and i’ll probably get banned for saying this because y’all are wayyyy too sensitive
