How are you guys Tracking your watchlist? Current situation!

Lets finally admit it, the api is always down... it has come to a fact that we cant even change our password.. you need vip to change password.

Everyone seems to be switching to a different alternative.

It's cool that Steam now tracks your hours in 'Non-Steam Games', but when you're using SteamOS to run Kodi on every machine in your house like I am, these 'play time' hours are going to be nuts in only a month or two.

Hardware Recommendations

Hello, everyone,

I am looking to build a home media center using Kodi, and I am currently considering my hardware options --feedback and advice would be greatly appreciated! So far, here are the specs/usecases I would be looking for:

• Can handle 4k playback/decoding

• Optimized for LibreELEC

• Can be used for PVR

• Can be made compatible with a FLIR dongle, or some form of TV remote

• I always try to stick with AMD products, but it is not a hard requirement

I was looking at this amazon listing, but I get the feeling that it might be a little overkill? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0GQ43833C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A33UZ0AQFDFR5B&th=1

Overwhelmed with Kodi

Disclaimer! Im doing this all on CachyOS, with AMD 9060XT graphics card, and Intel i9 CPU.
I’m in need of assistance with Kodi. Maybe in doing something wrong. From day one I’ve had problems with getting ripped 4K movies into my Kodi library. My list of problems with Kodi includes but is not limited to:
- Glitchy UI
- Random crashes when deleting things from library
- Random and frequent freezing when doing anything (idk it just seems to freeze if I click the wrong thing)
- When updating my library with any given movie(s), even if the rip from MakeMKV had no errors, ALMOST every time it reads the files wrong and puts random bs in my library instead. Sometimes multiple times (see pic attached for reference)
It’s weird because sometimes the process is seamless but oftentimes it’s not. I’d love to start a conversation to figure out what I’m doing wrong. The following pictures are the results of me trying to rip my “Return of the Jedi” 4K UHD disc.

ass subtitles out of sync

During playback, sometimes it is more than a second ahead and sometimes it lags behind. How should I set this? Playback on the computer is normal.

Box Suggestions?

I've been running a DLNA server on my home NAS (an HP N54L MicroServer) which has been serving up all my media for a bit now. It works great but my PS3 can't handle H.265 or AV1 and while my TVs built in DLNA renderer is an OK workaround for video as of now, the lack of metadata sucks and the general experience is really lackluster.

In short, I'm looking for a cheap box (around 30-40 eur) that can handle H.265 and is generally all around kinda low maintenence. The Raspberry Pi is for some reasson exorbitantly expensive here, so I've been looking into older generation NUCs but most of them come without SSDs which sucks. Older Apple TVs are not powerful enough and a no go for Kodi which is a requirement for me. Does anybody have any suggestions beyond just hooking up an old busted laptop to the TV?

Hello all,

I’m looking for some guidance on how to refresh my Kodi library after a network change.

Previously, my PC and TV were connected directly to my main router. I recently switched to a mesh network, which means the IP address of my setup has changed completely.

Is there a way to update/edit the SMB source in Kodi without deleting the existing library?

I’ve run into a similar issue before when I changed providers. When I edited the SMB source and refreshed the path, Kodi re-scraped everything and ended up duplicating all movies and TV shows.

When I tried to clean the library, the process got stuck at 99%, and I eventually had to reinstall Kodi from scratch.

I’d like to avoid that this time if possible.

For reference, I followed this setup process linked.

Thanks in Advance

Is anyone else sick and tired of trakt? Started out as a great way to have a third party keep count of all the shows that you've watched between multiple devices. But it seems like all it is now is constant slow downs and delays.

Are there any other alternatives that can assist with tracking the shows that are watched?

Safe to remove older zip files?

I'm having space issues and would like to delete some older versions of addons, etc.

Is that OK to do?

Is there a utility to aid in doing so?

I had an old PC lying around and decided to make my first home media server (yay!) I was successful in getting the media files set up on the server PC and with a tiny bit of tinkering got UPnP working well. The issue comes when I try to add the remote files to Kodi on my other devices. I can't seem to add the files (I can only browse and view them from the "Files" list). Is this common or perhaps there's an obvious fix I'm overlooking? My hope is the have Kodi set up on all my devices with full TV and Movie artwork and tags and such.

[RELEASE] Kodi Jellyfin Local Downloader V2.1 - Context menu add-on to download Jellyfin media now with Playlist download, full offline metadata sync & subtitles download!

Hey everyone!

A while back, I ran into a massive wall trying to use my portable Android TV projector for camping trips. The AndroidTV versions of the Jellyfin clients are (to my knowledge) all stripped of download functionality and even the "standard" Android versions are restricted in the choice of the download directories.

To fix this, I built the Jellyfin Local Downloader for Kodi. Because Kodi natively requests system-level storage permissions, this context-menu add-on uses Kodi's internal Virtual File System to securely pull files from your Jellyfin server via the API and write them directly to your preferred folder, such as an external USB drive.

I just pushed Version 2.1, which turned it from a simple downloader into a complete offline sync tool.

What’s new in V2.1:

  • Full Offline Metadata Sync: When you queue an episode or movie, it doesn't just grab the .mkv. It automatically generates Kodi-ready.nfo files and downloads the posters, fanart, and episode thumbnails that are stored in Jellyfin.
  • External Subtitles: It also fetches your external .srt/.ass files and renames them to perfectly match the downloaded video file.
  • Bulk & Playlist Downloading: Long-press a TV Season, an entire Show, or a custom Playlist to queue the whole thing.
  • Server-Side Unwatched Filtering: Prompt it to only download episodes you haven't seen yet.
  • True Background Processing: Because it runs purely on API requests now, you can actively watch other media in Kodi while your USB drive loads up in the background.

The "Offline Theater" Pro-Tip: The best way to use this is to make two profiles in Kodi. Use Profile 1 (online) to browse your Jellyfin add-on and download what you want for your trip. Then, make Profile 2 (completely offline), point it to your Download folder, and set the scraper to "Local information only." Because the add-on grabs all the .nfo plots and posters, your offline profile will instantly display your Jellyfin content with zero internet connection.

How to get it: You can grab the latest .zip from the GitHub Releases page here: Release v2.1

(Note: You just need to generate a standard API key from your Jellyfin dashboard to plug into the add-on settings!)

Hope this helps anyone else trying to take their media off-grid or load up a flash drive for a flight! Let me know if you run into any bugs!

Out of the blue today my Kodi is crashing upon trying to load it. I've tried re-installing it, deleting all my user data and add-ons, but nothing seems to be solving it.

Can anyone take a peak at the Crash Log I generated and see what might be going on?
