I had a nail appt this morning at 8am and forgot. My nail tech texted asking if I was coming. I responded via text then called her to apologize and asked if I could reschedule because I was caught up with work. She seemed receptive of my apology and said she would text me other availability. After hanging up I sent her a Venmo for $60 (the manicure was $95) because I felt terrible about missing the appt. I did not remember that her cancellation fee was 100% of the service fee because in my 4yrs of going to her, I’ve never needed to reschedule on the day of. Her response to my $60 Venmo was very shocking to me! I called again after my last text because I know things often get lost via text, but she did not answer or respond. AIO?

*Also, I’ve always tipped 20% on services.

Fran Fine, Ray Barone, and Doug & Carrie exist in the same world

I was watching The Nanny last night and it was the episode with Fran & Val’s highschool reunion. Ray Barone was their classmate, and he is also friends with Doug in a couple episodes. So through TV law the casts of The Nanny, Everybody Loves Raymond, and The King Of Queens all exist in the same “New York”.

What does everyone think of my new license plate?

Someone on here had a 555-LOGS license plate at one point so I guess you could say I was inspired by that. Now it’s time to go look for my 6 million dollar man thermos top.

Do y'all think this show will become more popular once it hits on Netflix or it will be drowned in the algorithm?

As per the title, I think Netflix will elbow this show to the side after its arrival and it will just be viewed as another relic of a bygone era for oldies like us.

Deacon is the best side character

The reason why is that he largely plays the role of straight man, which just suits the show so much better than the other supporting characters. He rarely oversells a line and even when he’s given a joke he plays it very naturally (with the occasional exception, such as: “like a WOMANNNNN!)

Contrast this with Holly and Pruzan who can be funny too but always oversell their dialogue in a blatantly sitcom-ish fashion. Kevin, Leah and Jerry are very organically funny and Kevin especially knows how to sell a line. So these performances can seem especially awkward by contrast. Deacon, however, just fits into every scene so well and his good lines always get bigger laughs from me because of it.

Spence is a good exception to this though. He isn’t a straight man but fits in quite well and is usually very organically funny. Generally speaking though, I think Deacon is the perfect fit for most scenes that need an extra actor.

Dope Target Find

Making this a late Mother’s Day gift for my mom whose favorite show is The King of Queens and favorite show is Arthur. I never in my life imaged I’d see Jerry on a piece of merchandise.

Kevin James standup

I went to see Kevin James in Milwaukee earlier this evening. I thought he did well and is a naturally funny person.

Gary Valentine was suppose to open but he did not go on stage—was bummed about that.

Also, Kevin left and ended the show with just putting a peace sign up after a bit with an audience member.

This was my first time seeing him, does he normally leave with an ‘Irish Goodbye’?
