Results from starflower oil + omega 3 capsules

Results from starflower oil + omega 3 capsules

Similar story to everyone here I suspect—developed kp at some point in my life, tried everything to little result blah, blah, blah, saw a recommendation online, decided to give it a go, and.... it worked.

Unfortunately I don't have a before photo since I'm not in the habit of photographing my kp. The kp was, visually, about what you'd expect. Raised, dry, red dots all up and down my arms and legs, mottled skin appearance, rough texture etc., the usual.

This was a spontaneous try where I was expecting no results, and honestly I didn't even notice them until I got out of the shower one morning and was towelling off. This is what I took:

- x2 starflower oil capsules

- x2 omega 3 capsules

- Taken once daily

I really don't believe that the brand matters, but I am a vegan, so the omega 3 capsules were vegan friendly ones.

I actually haven't been keeping it up at all because I was ripping through the starflower oil so fast, I couldn't justify all the repeated purchases, but it's good to know that oil is the key. I literally did nothing else accept swallow the capsules.

“God knew I’d be too powerful if I had smooth skin…”

I say to myself as I painfully tweeze the trapped ingrown leg hair that just wouldn’t break free after exfoliating. I’m not plucking them out, I’m just slowly wiggling them out from the skin they’re trapped under.

How long should I stick to a product until I give up on it?

For the past 2 weeks i have been using 0.1% tretinoin on my upper arms and calves for my sever pigmented kp. I have been doing it every other day and plan to start everyday in the next week. Ik that i am far from giving up on this and would like to try for at least 2 months but im curious, how long do people suggest we stick to a product for kp. Id hate to be wasting my time on a treatment that won't work. The tret hasnt done much for my kp, sometimes it looks better but I feel like its just lighting. It's understandable that it'll take a while for me given that my kp is years of hyperpigmentation on my arms.

Eucerin with Urea for the win!

(1st pic were my legs last year; 2nd, my legs two days ago; 3rd, fake tan + the lotion two weeks ago)

I was never super conscious about my KP until last year when an ex boyfriend kept commenting on it… Ever since then, I tried everything: Amlactin, Cerave Rough and Bumpy, the Ordinary Glycolic Acid and none of these gave me any significant results like the Eucerin lotion did!

I’d also like to note that I paired it with the Byoma Blemish Clearing Body Wash, but that doesn’t seem to do that much compared to the Eucerin lotion. I’ve heard any product with urea would help, but I haven’t had the chance to try others. I am open to suggestions though! :-)

I still see some redness and bumps, but I’ve only been using the lotion for about a month, and a bit inconsistently, so I’m not sure if it’ll do more for me later. Lastly, the lotion + fake tan make it seem like I never had KP!

KP on face

Fairly sure this is KP on my face (both cheeks) as I have it on my arms. First appeared on my face 5 years ago but in the last few weeks seems to have worsened and migrated to my cheekbones. The redness I can deal with but the bumps are driving me insane with insecurity. I had done two sessions of micronneedling over the last two months, wondering if this might have worsened things? I have also stopped applying tret due to the microneedling, so wondering if the combination has lead to the worsening? Any tips for removing the bumps? less

[Academic] Would You Use a Dual‑Function Soap Bar for KP, Pigmentation & General Skin Issues? Quick 2- minute Survey

Hi everyone,
I’m working on a new skincare concept called DualGlow Soap — a single bar designed with two different functional sides, each targeting a specific skin need.

The idea is to help with common concerns like:

  • Keratosis pilaris (KP / “strawberry skin”)
  • Pigmentation & uneven tone
  • Dryness, rough texture, or general skin issues

Examples of the dual sides include:

  • exfoliating side + soothing/moisturising side
  • brightening side + gentle daily cleanser
  • deep‑clean side + sensitive‑skin side

I’m collecting early feedback to see if this is something people would actually use and find helpful.

If you have one minute, here’s the survey:

Laser hair work on this?

Do you think laser hair removal could be helpful for this for me? I know for some it works, for some it doesn’t. Gosh, this is so unsightly.

KP, picking, anti-inflammatory diet, vitamins (help)

Ive been struggling with KP since high school and I also have a severe compulsive picking habit (doesn't mix well together oops), and I want to reduce my picking and ive realized recently that I should start by 1) healing all the open wounds and scabs on my arms, and 2) maybe i should target the kp itself

i occasionally use amlactin on my arms, i don't when i have open scabs anymore, but I also just hate the texture of lotion among other audhd sensory issues for me. not to mention i also have extremely sensitive skin so i tend to stay away from a lot of the acids and stuff as i have had bad experiences in the past with my skin

ive come across an anti-inflammatory diet not as a "cure" but smth to help, and I honestly would love to stop eating so much junk food (which i do), but i struggle with being a picky eater. for instance i detest berries and bananas for their texture, i do not like anything remotely spicy, and there are a lot of other foods that i just do not enjoy. the foods i do enjoy tend to be very high carbs and usually loaded with sugar (candy, soda, etc.)

i also would like to start taking more vitamin supplements as i feel like that might help a bit, given my crappy diet

i know an anti-inflammatory diet is not going to cure my kp, and i fully understand that i might only see small changes over time but i like to believe something is better than nothing and that i am working towards taking one step forward instead of just not doing anything

i'd really appreciate any responses, feedback, and advice! thank you :)

edit: i realized i really never asked a question, im just wondering what might an anti-inflammatory diet look like for kp and what vitamins might help a bit, sorry if i sound a little dense, im new to all of this

I am soo sick of this

(throw-away account)

excuse the weird picture, just coming here to vent and share experiences with a certain product.

I tried spraying this every other night + moisturising, and maybe it was a placebo effect but i thought it was working, but turns out it completely wasnt😭 (i havent been allowing myself to scratch my back for a while, today i did it for the first time so thats why it looks so horrible, but even the unscratched parts look horrible😭😭)

Salicylic Acid and lactic acid are in the main ingredients so i too a chance, I know this product isnt particulary for KP so I cant really complain that it didn’t work, but still frustrating cuz NOTHING works😭😭😭

(the white bra is the before btw lmao)

(atleast ive lost like 7kg so atleast that i can control💀)

QP O DERMATITIS

Me salio esto ,al principio creía que era queratosis pero ya me confundió por que me salio como descamación, y la verdad desconozco, ayuda

u/owenalexandro34 — 4 days ago

If you haven’t tried this give it a chance!

Trust me when i say this has helped me a lot and I’ve just recently purchased it about 2 weeks ago. It has a lot of the ingredients that are known to help KP like glycolic & lactic acid plus others… so I decided to give it a try and it has been a game changer!

I use this post shower all over my body after towel drying my skin followed by my favorite moisturizer and body oil. Please follow up if you decide to try, i would love to hear your opinion!

Comparing body lotions

So I've used both of these lotions - currently using the la roche posay.

I'm trying to compare the ingredients, and noticed that eucerin has lactic acid, and la roche posay has citric acid.

From what I understand, lactic acid = humectant, gentler AHA, good for dark spots. Citric acid = astringent, clarifying, AHA, good for clogged pores

I'm looking for more wisdom on the ingredients list. I only know the basics of some ingredients, I don't know much about skincare chemistry. Just what I've learned through the years. Any ingredients that are particularly beneficial for KP which would make one lotion "better" than the other?

For price comparisons, eucerin is $17 and la roche posay is $36.

Found something that works for me

Hey there! Been suffering from KP on my upper arms ever since having kids a few years ago. It got pretty bad with my upper arms being primarily bumps, even on my shoulders and back.

Started using these and in like a week my arms are so much better. Just wanted to share.

The pic is of my arm after one week. Not perfect but way better and feels smoother.

Reducing redness?

I have KP on my cheeks and I have somewhat reduced the bumps by using lactic acid 10% every night, however I can’t seem to get rid of the redness!! It’s very frustrating. Does anyone have recommendations?

My skincare routine is currently:

Cerave cleanser (night only)

Medicube toning pads (every 4 days) - don’t use the next 2 products when I do this

Ordinary Niacinamide

Ordinary 10% lactic acid (night only)

Tirtir milk toner

Khiels lotion

Laroche posay cica cream (night only)
