We all have one… who’s your forever K-drama bias

So, I have been watching K dramas for almost a decade now. I have watched many shows, many of them were good, I liked many actors and found them hot. But I used to move on very fast, lol. That changed after I watched Healer ( I was pretty late ) and I fell in love with Ji Chang Wook. Noone matched him and no one will ...for me.

I just can't keep my eyes off him. Every scene, every frame .. when he appears, I cannot look at anyone else. Last show of him that I watched was Worst Of Evil and he looked so hotttttt. Even when he was drenched in blood and sweat. His personality, his acting, his body language are all top notch. It's not just that he is drop dead gorgeous but he is a great actor. I also get a great vibe from his interviews which makes me believe he is a great person as well.

Do you have an actor who is your "Ji Chang Wook"? Someone you are biased for or not able to move on from.

Our iconic villain is back you all!!!

Ok, he is back in Perfect crown as the Queen's brother. I already know the planning and plotting is going to start and he will so well ruin the lives of our main leads.

I don't even know the number of times he has played the evil villain and whenever I see him, I feel an irk. I get worried as well for the main characters because damn... he knows how to ruin everything for everyone. I sometimes feel scared of him lol. I don't think I have seen him playing a positive role. has he? Also, I noticed he plays negative character a lot in historical set-up dramas maybe because his aura and face suits it well. He is such a damn good actor. Makes me hate him so much.

who is your favorite villain?

THE NEW ACTRESSES / ACTORS THAT WILL SLAY IN 10 YEARS

Hello guys,

Which actress/actor is your favorite right now—the one you want to see more of and truly believe will dominate in the next 10 years?

For me, I’ll go with Go Youn-jung. I really appreciated her recent projects and I’m excited to see more from her.

I’d also love to see more of Park Ji-hu and Cho Yi-hyun—they have so much potential and seem really sweet too haha.

What about you?

Do KDramas make anyone else’s mouth water, literally?

Lot’s of time, watching kdrama means having to watch them eat delicious food. Every time I see them slurp down a bowl of noodles it makes me crave a bowl. I want to try it all BBQ, japchae, tteokbokki, ramyeon, sundae gukbap, gimbap, kimchi, jajangmyeon, subway (just kidding).

What gets your mouth watering? Is there a dish you are dying to try?

First episode of the perfect crown was almost perfect

The story felt engaging and i didn’t get bored at any of the scenes. The cast looks stacked from the MCs to the potential villains. Pace felt great and can’t wait for the episode tomorrow.

Only slight criticism is that the sound design is a bit off. They introduce sound bites and music at weird times but i hopeful it will get better. Everyone should be watching this show it will probably be the best airing show.

I think if I see something like this again I'll lose my mind.

Drama Name: Phantom Lawyer

This scene made me laugh and dumbfounded at the same time, because where is the common sense guys?

The girl is standing there nice and firm after "apparently" saving her sister like there was some confetti going to shower over her for this bravery.

Bi*ch get aside, it's that simple.

I don't mind these accident scenes, but the directors need to stop putting this low effort scene, then go on to build an entire character's life based on that scene.

>!I saw a similar scene in Spring Fever, where a tree was about to fall on the FL and she kept sitting there despite seeing it coming light years ago. !<

>!😭!<

I finally watched Train to Busan after years of avoiding it… and I regret nothing 😭

After procrastinating for a few years, I finally watched Train to Busan — and I absolutely loved it.

But honestly… it had me on edge the entire time 😭 I was so tense I couldn’t even eat or drink properly for the rest of the day, haha.

Definitely worth the watch, but also way more intense than I expected.

Let’s talk about the worst K-dramas you’ve watched... We’re always sharing our favorites, but what about the ones that just didn’t work for you?

I actually have a small list. For example, Blood (the vampire doctor one)… the ending felt really weird to me and kind of ruined the whole experience... I didn't like it...

Another one is The Interest of Love. I don’t know if it’s a cultural thing, but I really struggled to understand what kept the main couple apart.. other than their own fears. At one point, the female lead says she destroys the sandcastles she builds so no one else can destroy them, which is an interesting metaphor about self-sabotage. But for me, the story didn’t have enough narrative strength to make that theme truly engaging... I didn't understand the end... are they together???

But hey, to each their own! I recently saw someone who hated Can This Love Be Translated?, and while I understood their reasons, I actually found it pretty entertaining.

What about you? Which K-dramas did you really not like... and why?

What are some of the realest k-dramas? Like the most realistic

for me, it has to be "because this is is my first life". i know a lot of people found it boring or felt dissatisfied with the ending, but i genuinely found it really touching. it addressed so many real-life issues that exist in society, and i feel like a lot of dramas don’t really capture those themes in such a subtle and realistic way. the way it showed everyday things like patriarchy and quiet double standards felt very real and meaningful to me.

i might also relate to it personally, which is probably why it resonated with me so much. i really liked how the characters weren’t portrayed as extraordinary people. it’s rare to find k-dramas, especially ones about people in their late 20s or 30s, where no one is written with some unrealistic background or chaebol storyline.

i especially liked that the male lead was house poor instead of insanely rich, and the female lead was just an aspiring writer trying to figure life out. even the ending felt very grounded, where nothing dramatic happens or suddenly changes, and they just choose to continue life together as it is.

honestly, i prefer that kind of ending over the usual overly idealized k-drama endings. it felt refreshing and very honest. overall, it just felt like a very real and human story that a lot of people could actually relate to, especially with how life and finances are for many people today. idk how to describe it but the story line was so complex and depth without having dramatic plots and all like it was so real.

I wanna know your guys recs and thoughts

💓🎉Happy 7th Anniversary to Her Private Life and One of the OG Green Forest Couples Ryan🦁 and Deok-mi!🥂❤️‍🔥

Premiering on tvN on April 10, 2019, Her Private Life is a swoony enemies-to-lovers, fake dating office romance that set the standard for green flag couples. She’s a museum curator who secretly runs a fan page for a K-pop idol. He’s her new boss who discovers her secret. They have one of the healthiest, most communicative relationships I’ve ever seen and their chemistry is 🔥.

Unlike most K-romances where one person is far more invested in the relationship than the other, Ryan and Deok-mi are equally crazy about each other and it’s wonderful watching them fall in love. They’re true partners who are very protective of one another, supporting each other unequivocally both professionally and personally, and he even puts his career on the back burner so she can pursue her dream job.

Kim Jae-wook and Park Min-young wrote many of their scenes themselves and included lots of physical affection so they’re very convincing as a couple who are head over heels in love. Ryan and Deok-mi are the very definition of couple goals.

Her Private Life is streaming on Netflix, Viki, Prime Video, Roku and Tubi.

Holding K-Celebs to impossible standards

Can we please stop regurgitating the same harassment posts in kdrama subs ?

•Attacking actors/actresses for how they look

•Randomly name dropping people you hate on for no apparent reason

•Hate bandwagon (which is vastly different from constructive criticism, learn the differences before speaking)

•Throwing personal attacks or unverified accusations

•Some of those accusations can be disgustingly misogynistic or very grave but has no real base except that you just don't like them onscreen ?

Not every dumb, disgusting, hateful, petty, rude thought that you have needs to be vocalised in public. Keep your shit to yourself and maybe self-reflect.

Can we please remember that these celebrities are real people too ?

You guys act no better than the "celeb killer knetz" you like to villainise.

People keep complaining a lot recently about kdramas

As someone who genuinely loves kdramas, I've been noticing a pattern in how people complain about them and honestly, a lot of it isn't even fair criticism.

  1. You literally cannot have it both ways with pacing.

If a drama takes its time building the story, people cry "too slow, too many fillers." But the moment a show speeds things up to wrap the plot, suddenly the ending was "too rushed" and the leads had "no chemistry." Like pick a lane please. A pilot episode IS supposed to ease you in, that's literally how storytelling works. Not every drama needs to be throwing plot twists at you in episode one.

  1. A trailer is not the whole story so stop treating it like one.

Trailers are a glimpse, not a promise. If your expectations don't match the actual plot, that's not the writer's failure, that's on you for building an entire story in your head before giving the show a real chance. And honestly the "ktrauma" label is getting completely out of hand. One sad scene shows up on someone's TikTok and suddenly the whole drama gets written off. Some stories are MEANT to be heavy. Not everything can be sunshine and rainbows, nor should it be. Life has weight and great storytelling reflects that. In Your Radiant Season is such a good example because people kept calling it ktrauma but those characters fought through everything and STILL got their happy ending. Context matters so much. Also if a story simply wasn't for you that's completely fine but "it wasn't my vibe" is very different from "it was bad." Leaving a harsh comment on a show you weren't even the target audience for isn't a review. It's just unfair.

  1. You can hype up cdramas without dragging kdramas.

Yes, Chinese dramas have been delivering some incredible content lately, no argument there. But this constant "kdramas have fallen off, cdramas are just better now" narrative is so exhausting. Most of the time people just haven't found the right kdramas. Both industries can thrive at the same time. Appreciation isn't a competition and it never should be.

  1. Rom-com is a genre, not the only genre.

Not every drama needs to feel like Lovely Runner or Business Proposal, as much as we love them. Melodramas hit so differently. Slice of life stories are quietly beautiful. Thrillers, mysteries, family dramas, they all exist for a reason. Wanting every single show to follow the same feel good rom-com formula is literally how you end up with an industry full of copies. Different stories exist and that's actually a really good thing.

  1. Actors are not their characters so please let them move on.

This one genuinely baffles me. When fans get so attached to an on-screen couple that they start criticizing an actor's next project just because they're not paired with the same person, that's not fandom anymore. That's just possessiveness. Actors do their job, create something beautiful with their co-star and then move on to the next role because that IS the job. A new pairing not living up to your little fantasy is not a chemistry problem. It's a you problem.

PS : Used Ai so that it is delivered in a proper way
