My YJ is my daily. Right now, living in California it works perfectly and for many reasons I prefer it over a hard top. But I'll be moving on to a 2 year soon and hopefully living on my own after that. This matters since currently my car has zero locks besides the center console and I doubt I'll be living anywhere very nice so ill kind of need the locks. I also have big plans for this car not so far down the line that would also be beneficial when paired with a hard top.
I'm asking if any of you have good advice to give about YJ hard tops. I'm thinking a 2 piece top would be ideal? Also can these hard tops be used to mount things like lights or are they too flimsy without reinforcement? For me AC is out of the question, so I was thinking along the lines of a roof scoop into the cab made with more fiberglass?
Another big motivator for a hard top for me is that I could finally add sound deadening to the car and trash the old carpet for a nice one. Do any of you have experience with this sort of thing or is it not worth it?
Has anyone replaced the power distribution center with something aftermarket? I’ve seen the video on YouTube about how to rewire one. I’ve got several wiring issues on a YJ I just purchased and since you can get a new one of these I was wondering if there was an alternative. If anyone had made one from aftermarket parts and has the wiring diagram that would be much appreciated.
Right now it has connectors falling out the bottom, relays will barely stay in, case is broken, and I’m pretty sure there’s a broken wire in the fuel pump wiring because I can wiggle the whole unit around and get intermittent power to the fuel pump.
Any help appreciated.
I drove for like 30minutes to a store perfectly fine, I go to start it up and it just kept spinning but never started and had to wait roughly 30/40minutes for it to run again..
I replaced my crankshaft sensor and going to change my fuel filter tomorrow. Any tips on what it could be?
Hey any advice on tire sizes, just put on 2.5 lift on my jeep. Looking for bigger tires for my 15 inch rims. Is there any performance difference between 30x 9.5 r15 and 31x10.5 r15 or is it just a cosmetic thing. Thanks. Also wanna note I put a snow plow on it during the winter.
