My gaming/sim racing setup

It's yet another Alex + Karlby setup, but I wanted to include my sim rig to it. So instead of double drawers I mounted four Adils legs to it. Also as a anti-sag solution screwed in two aluminium rods to the bottom.

The EKBACKEN+TROTTEN Desk

Just finish the build, everything look awesome

The image in this post is created by AI, but it's a little bit or almost exactly what I'm going for.

As you can see it will use 2 panels/28mm walnut wood 145cm by 75 cm slabs that I will buy from a hardware store. The rest is 2 Alex cabinets in dark gray color and the Olov or Adils legs. I only have 2 questions about this.

Will this desk be sturdy enough and will it sag over time with a monitor arm, two 27 inch monitors and a gaming pc in the right corner? I heard IKEA legs can be wobbly and I'm scared to just go for it.

And what are those small things or little legs in between the Alex cabinet and the wooden slab? I've seen them before on reddit posts.

Is a reinforcement bar necessary for an Ekbacken + Alex desk if the monitors are wall-mounted?

I’m planning a new desk setup using an Ekbacken countertop supported by two Alex drawers.
To keep the surface clear, I’m wall mounting my dual monitor arm, so there won’t be any monitor weight on the desk itself. I also plan to install a single Olov/Adils leg in the back-center for extra support.

My question is: Do I still need to install a metal reinforcement bar (stiffener) underneath to prevent sagging over time? I’m mostly worried about the weight of leaning on the desk.

Anyone used wall mounted dual arm?

Hi,

Curious to see if anyone’s used a wall mounted dual monitor arm before, everyone seems to use the clamp ons. The reason I’m trying not to use them is my flood are little bit crap and when moving around in the office the desk will shake and will also shake the monitors. So trying to minimise that.

EKBACKEN countertop with TROTTEN underframe

Hello, I just upgrade my Utespelare desk for this build countertop EKBACKEN 186×63.5cm with TROTTEN legs 140×68cm, you can see the underframe have like 3cm out.

It will be on the back and use it for cable management,

I just screw the desk with standard screw and its

perfect no issues, everything look good.

will share another post when moving all my stuff on it tomorrow.

Grazie mille!
