So i got in as a summer intern at Kgp,and idts i would get hostel facility,can yall suggest any good and affordable hostels near kgp?

Why the hell is the library shut down? Theres no official notice except a post from Awaaz, many of my friends' laptops and books are still in there

Why have they not arranged an alternate study location in the campus? Why did this canpus not open any of V1 V2 or V3? Why is this place so horrible

And they want to cut down on stress. Wow. Brilliant Mister PR director. Never think of the students unless it amps up your pr strategies. Saw a massive newspaper post with your face on it. Be ashamed of yourself.

Does the administration lack common sense in this decision? Removing the department-wise quota overlooks a key reality: different departments have varying levels of academic rigour and follow different grading systems—some absolute, others relative—with significantly different difficulty levels. Evaluating all students on a single scale without accounting for these differences is neither equitable nor fair. A department-wise quota should be maintained to ensure justice across all departments. I had already raised this concern via email and was told it would be forwarded to the committee, but it feels like the concern may be getting overlooked.

none of the good items are available, even if some item is available they just take so much time to prepare it and its not the prepared the same way everytime (sometimes good, most of the times its bad).

such a good place and vibe, still they try not to keep up the standard and just making it worse day by day.

Is the price of all Nescafe outlet in campus same. Because I ordered something in Azad Nescafe, and a guy from nehru comes and orders something, but then he argues over its prices after knowing it is not same as Nehru Nescafe. Then dada showed him some papers in which prices of all items were printed. But as we read the papers, it turns out prices were changed, but for VGSOM, AGFE department Nescafe outlet. I also think this Azad Nescafe steals from students. Not a single item there I find worth the money I am paying. Anyways, I just want to know how these HMC invites tender. Are the prices regulated. If all the outlets are branded by Nescafe. Why prices are different for each Nescafe. Are these private vendors. Also, what about canteens. If someone feels like they are overpriced, can we mail HMC with regard to this. Due to this gas problems, canteen increased their prices. I wonder if they will decrease it after war crisis and conditions are normal. Are these canteens also private vendors which can set prices by their own.

I want to start with game development. I have many crazy game ideas, but zero coding experience and zero programming knowledge.

Any experienced game developers, pls guide me what should i do 😔. I want to learn, but i just can't for some reason.

why are we being treated like criminals? why does it feel like we're giving jee again, just more frequently? i mean, aren't there better ways to ensure that malpractice doesn't happen? get a metal detector, for god’s sake. security didis touching you from top to bottom, touching bras to check for phones; idk about anyone else, but it made me very uncomfortable. i was there at 2:50 coz i took the bus, and i was looking at my last minute formulas. this security guard yelled at me and said, "aapko andar nhi jaana hai?", that made me panic even more than i already was, and a few formulae slipped my mind. if you're going to enforce a strict policy, do it properly so that we don't feel like we're doing something wrong just by coming to give the exam.

I graduated right in COVID and couple of years ago I heard that DC++ was shut down. I felt pretty f***ing sad to hear that. It was my lifeline: everything I had in my laptop was from there and some from torrent.

Do people still share their harddisks or everyone is just streaming everything these days?

I cherish 150mbps download speeds for tv series, movies, courses. It was something special. It was my first proper exposure to intranet in my life. Do people still know legends like baba_bhayanak_bh***iwala and endsem_special?

Oh man, I miss KGP. I went to kgp couple of times after graduating and realized people is what makes kgp special for me.

So I don't miss it much now, but I have memories that will last a lifetime. I hear kgp isn't the same anymore, it has degraded. It has gotten worse.

But the funny thing is I heard the same when I entered the campus, but seems like situation has gotten quite bad these days.

You all will find a way in life, don't give up. I know things are a bit sensitive owing to recent incidents, but I hope things will get better.

If someone gives negative feedback on ERP, professors hold grudges and quietly cut their marks. If they go for counseling, there are serious concerns about confidentiality. And if something tragic happens, the same system turns around and blames the victim, saying it was their fault, that they were the cause of their own suffering.

So when people try to speak anonymously on platforms like Reddit, just to express themselves without fear of judgment or retaliation, you suddenly have a problem with that too. Then comes the moral lecture, “you’re maligning the college’s name.”

No. What actually damages the institution is not anonymous voices, it is the silence you force, the fear you create, and the accountability you avoid....
