iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro: which is the better choice ?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to choose between the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Pro, and I’d like your opinion.

I’m only interested in performance, camera, design, and overall experience.

Here’s what I know so far:

The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a larger 6.7" display.

The iPhone 14 Pro has a newer A16 chip, Dynamic Island, and a 48MP main camera.

My questions:

Which one feels more premium and modern?

Is the camera upgrade really noticeable in real use?

Is the Dynamic Island actually useful or just a gimmick?

Which one would you choose and why?

Thanks!

Battery Health dropping from 100% to 96% in just 4 months and 2 weeks

Hello guys! I’m concerned about my battery health. Last December 3 i changed my 13 pro max battery to apple authorized store called iStore in Philippines.

They have the 90 days warranty but when it’s almost 3 months the battery health dropped to 99% is this normal? It’s supposed to reach 3 months before it gets dropped to 99% right?

This month it’s dropped rapidly from 99% to 96% just now. 3% decreased of battery health in just 1 month is this supposed to be normal? I just need your opinion guys but for me i just want my money’s worth.

I actually used my phone a lot by playing games and i charged it sometimes when it’s below 20% and it’s even hot while charging and i think this is the reason why my battery health is dropping rapidly because of heat.

Anyone changed their charging port?

Hey guys,

Hope all yall are good.

Got a question please,

Got a iPhone 13PM 3 years (4 in 4 months lol);

Issue is.. around a year ago a bit of peri peri sauce managed to drop into the charging port.. I didn’t think anything of it because I’m a dodo but now for the last 5-6 months, charging has become an issue. My phone only charges when the wire is pulled back at a certain tight angle.

I don’t want to change phones as I still enjoy this phone and don’t see a reason to pay for a new phone so I wanted to ask this:

  1. has anyone managed to change the cable port themselves and if you have, how difficult / intricate is it?

  2. has anyone paid a company to fix it for them and had no issues?

Deliberating which one to do but I know I need to do it because my phone doesn’t last all day and I need to charge it a few times a day.

Appreciate all your responses

Is buying a used iPhone 13 Pro Max in 2026 still worth it?

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking about getting a used iPhone 13 Pro Max (512GB) in 2026 and wanted some opinions.

I’m not planning to use it for gaming at all. My main priorities are camera quality and smooth performance for social media (Instagram, TikTok, etc.).

A few things I’m wondering:

Does it still feel fast or is it starting to lag in daily use?

How’s the camera holding up compared to newer iPhones?

Are security updates still supported, and for how long?

Is it still a good buy in 2026 or should I go for something newer?

For context, I want something reliable for a few years, not just a temporary phone.

Also, if you’ve bought one used recently, what was your experience like (battery health, performance, etc.)?

Thanks!

Iphone 13 pro max overheating after update to IOS 18.7.7.

Hi guys! Just wondering does your phone also overheat when it’s charging (idle) or when you’re watchingvideos (youtube, tiktok, and ig reels)?

Charging problem Iphone 13?

**Hello everyone, I bought a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 13 three months ago. The phone is really great overall, but there is one thing I’m not happy with. It takes 3 hours and 37 minutes to charge from 5% to 100%.**

**The seller told me that using an original Apple adapter wouldn't make a difference. I am currently using a 'Ones' brand 20W PD adapter. I should mention that the phone was refurbished, but it came with 100% battery health, which has now dropped to 98%.**

**Why is it taking so long to charge and what could be the issue? Also, my friends told me that their iPhone 13s reach 50% in just 30 minutes. A lot of people have also told me not to charge it past 80% to preserve the battery health.**

iPhone 13 Pro Max Mobile data problem triangle

ENGLISH - Hello, I'm currently having quite a few problems with my iPhone 13 Pro Max with data. When I sometimes turn on the phone (usually often), a triangle with an exclamation mark appears and I get a message about a data problem. When I restart the phone, my data works normally for a while and then the triangle appears again. My carrier is T-Mobile. And I don't want any expensive services or a new phone, thank you.........

CZECH,ČESKY --Dobrý den, mám ted celkem problémy s iPhonem 13 Pro Max s daty. Když někdy zapnu telefon ( většinou často ) Ukáže se mi tam trojuhelník s vykřičníkem a pošle se mi zpráva o problému s daty. Když telefon zrestartuji tak na nějakou dobu mi jdou data normálně a pak tam zase skočí trojuhlník. Můj operátor je T-Mobile. A nechci žádne drahé servisy nebo nový telefon děkuji.........

iPhone 13 Pro Max vs 17 Pro battery

So I got this new iPhone 13 Pro Max 100% battery full warranty in play 0 cycle count. It’s on iOS 18.6.2. I decided to install apps I have on an iPhone 17 Pro iOS battery 100% battery cycle 97.

Let them both sit for half a day and the 13 pro max battery lasted longer than the 17 pro 88% vs 85%. I ran life stream nba for about 20 mins and the iPhone 17 pro battery dropped 5% less than the 13 pro max.

I haven’t test the camera yet. To be fair iPhone 13 Pro Max is running iOS 18.6.2 vs 26,4 for the iPhone 17

Could the battery on the iPhone 13 Pro Max last longer than tue 17 pro even thought the 17 pro has a larger battery?

Change your battery!

Just installed a fresh genuine battery on my phone and it feels like a completely different device.

With my old battery, I was getting just under 5 hours of screen time on iOS 26 with Wi-Fi and heavy use YouTube, Instagram, Gmail, etc. and it would drain fast quick. Just about 3.5 hours with 5G.

Now with the new battery, I’m getting 9-10+ hours, easily lasting a full day again. I haven’t seen screen time like this in years and it’s honestly made me fall in love with this phone again.

I’m going to Europe this summer, so I swapped it ahead of time so I don’t have to rely on a power bank total game changer.

I did the repair myself, ordered the battery for $89 and it’ll be $46 after I return the old battery. Took me around an hour going slow and careful.

If you’re hesitating, don’t overthink it a fresh battery basically brings your phone back to life it’s so nice to use this phone now without a big MagSafe brick on the back or being plugged in.

iPhone 13 PM Battery Replacement Experience

So my iPhone 13PM was nearing 4 years since I bought it, and I’d been noticing significant performance drops quite frequently off late. The screen brightness would dim almost instantly out in daylight and wouldn’t normalise for quite some time. The phone would overheat quite easily outdoors and also while charging. And of course, battery life itself was quite bad relative to how it was new. I really love this iPhone and upgrading just didn’t make sense to me. So I went ahead and got my battery replaced at iCare, an authorised service centre in Bengaluru, India.

Previous battery — 1422+ charge cycles, 82% max capacity. Checked with the Apple Support app once and it said ‘service recommended’ although it did go back to saying ‘performance normal’ after some time.

The battery replacement experience was quite good, had booked myself an appointment beforehand. They’d earlier said I could confirm the replacement and return once they’d retrieved a new battery (it was out of stock). However after I went they said they could replace and handover the phone within a few hours as they did have a new battery on hand. They initially quoted ₹7,705 all inclusive of taxes and service charges. Right before I was about to pay, an employee walked in and told the person billing to check whether there were any discounts applicable. I was pleasantly surprised when the new billing price was now lowered to ₹6,741. Always remember to simply ask if there’s any discounts available. Sometimes you wouldn’t know if you hadn’t asked.

Well it’s been about a week since and there’s been quite a few noticeable improvements. Some more obvious ones are much better battery life (good for around 9-10h of screen on time), screen doesn’t dim as easily outdoors in the sun, phone feel refreshed and overall smoother.

Some equally noticeable but not so obvious improvements that I hadn’t thought of earlier — the phone’s touch sampling rate feels back to normal (I could sense the touchscreen not responding that immediately earlier), the haptics are so much better and tighter now - they are sharp and quite strong. The phone doesn’t get that hot anymore, even while charging. The speakers are now quite loud and clear (Apple service centres also clean the speaker grilles so that has also contributed significantly).

To wrap up, I can definitely recommend a battery replacement as an alternative to upgrading. The cost is quite reasonable, much more economical than getting a new phone (even refurbished). I’m quite confident I should be able to extract another year or two of usage before upgrading (the phone would’ve stopped receiving major OS updates by then anyway so that’s fine).

Go ahead, share your thoughts and any questions you may have if you’re too looking to get a fresh battery. Thanks for your time :)

iOS 18.7.7

Did any of you update from ios 17 or earlier to ios 18.7.7, and if so what do u think of the photos app change and the camera app, cause I’m a bit worried about the changes to the photo processing and not being able to get used to it after being on ios 17 for so long.

Also what battery health u on and how does ios18.7.7 run on your phone

Refurbished iPhone 15 Pro (256GB) for €609 - worth it?

I currently have an almost 4-year-old 13 Pro Max. Saw a refurbished 15 Pro on Swappie for €609 (“very good” condition and cheapest option I see is €535 for “acceptable”). Is it actually worth upgrading at this point?

iPhone 13 Pro Max: Vertical touch dead zone

Hey everyone,

I’m seeking some advice on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I’ve just developed a vertical dead zone right down the center of my screen (see the attached screenshot from a touch test). The twist: This phone has actually had a slight green tint issue at low brightness for several months, though until now, it never affected the touch functionality or general visibility at higher brightness.

Current Symptoms: • A specific vertical column (center-left) does not register touch at all. • The green tint is still present at low brightness levels. • No discoloration, flickering, or "White Screen" yet. • No recent drops but I was using the phone while I was in the pool but didn’t put in water.

What I’ve tried: • Force restart (no change). • Removed screen protector (no change). • Tested in landscape; the dead zone stays in the same physical spot on the glass.

Is this definitely a hardware failure of the display assembly?

White screen issue

After updating my iPhone 13 Pro Max to iOS 26.3.1, I’m seeing white screen and flickering issues. A restart fixes it, but it has happened three times.

I now have the iOS 26.4 update (5.64 GB). Should I update, or might it worsen the issue?
