Hi, i have a 2019 iMac which I want to replace the memory and the processor in. It's currently running on 8 gigs and an i5 8500. I want to upgrade it to 64GB and an i9 9900K, and I wanted to ask if my iMac can support this amount of memory (DDR4, SODIMM, 2667 MHz). I am aware of the fact that the iMac doesn't have the option of upgrading the RAM by simply opening the little flap at the back and I will give it to a repair shop to replace (the whole computer has to be opened). About the CPU, I wanted to ask if thermal throttling will become an issue, as the i9 is popular with overheating - and if it is really a problem, would the performance be at least a bit better than with the initial CPU (i5 8500)?
The white part is light reflection, almost the entire screen is yellow except for the very ends which have a green-ish outlier. It doesn't recognize any sort of hardware.
Recently got a 2023 Mac Studio A2901, came without a ssd installed. Is there anywhere to buy a cheap one? Can be used. Cheapest I could find is $360
I picked this guy and have been battling an issue but have yet to figure out the cause.
The display just turns off after a while, sooner at high brightness levels, and in just a few seconds if the vsync wire is plugged in. The display will turn back on if i use the keyboard shortcut to turn it off, then turn it back on. The inverter board has already been replaced in an attempt to fix it, and i've reseated every connector on the display and between boards. Anyone got a clue on what's going on?
