I got this kayak for 2000 on Facebook marketplace, everything looks pretty nice, there are no damage at all, almost no scratches, like, this was used 5 times max, and it was stored in a garage, BUT I’m noticing that the back part of the kayak, where you would but a battery or a box, is soft, I’ve never had a kayak this big, so I don’t know if that’s somehow normal, or should I be concerned?

Where can I order a pedal drive?

I have a Mirage Revolution 11, can’t seem to find anyone or website that has the drive? Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

help identify year

I bought this hobby for 60 bucks. It doesn’t come with anything. I’m gonna need a plastic weld some stuff but it’s not bad. I was just wondering what year this is so I can get replacement parts. The identification number is not there anymore.

I am going to leave Reddit. I'm the only moderator of this subreddit, so when I do, it will become unmoderated and will become unavailable, as Reddit requires all subreddits to be moderated.

I originally took over moderation when I wanted to post here when I got a TI, and was unable to do so because posts needed to be approved. The existing sole mod was inactive, and I eventually gained mod access through r/redditrequest. I'd like to avoid that for anybody who finds this subreddit useful by adding at least one new mod to the subreddit before I leave.

Send me a message if you are interested in being a mod for this subreddit.

Mirage drive repairs question

Hello everyone, I own a 2004 Hobie mirage outback kayak and last summer, I broke a chain on my drive. I have been looking online for a replacement part - I've seen listings on Amazon, Aliexpress.. etc...

my question, when I bring up the description on the listings, it says the part can only be used for Mirage Drives version 2 (and newer) - how can I tell what version drive I own? the image posting looks identical to what I have... I just want to get some kind of clarification.

I've sent hobie the same question over 2 weeks ago, and haven't heard back - so I hope someone can help, thanks!

Skew won’t drop

Hello.
I’ve got a 2023 PA 12 180 and I never really used my skeg since I’ve owned it because when I tried I never really noticed any kind of difference. The cart I store the kayak on is very low to the ground so I never really mess with it.

One day I was giving it a thorough cleaning and I had it higher up off the ground and I thought I would drop the skeg because I was curious how far it went down when I realized it doesn’t move. The cord goes in, but the skeg doesn’t come down. I can pull it down by hand, but if I push it back in manually, it will stay there.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to what could be happening or how I can fix this please?

Would you get a Hobie Pro angler 12 360 on sale or Angler 14 360 regular price?

I have a Old Town Bigwater 132PDL and always looke at Hobies to but was a bit much. The 360 drive seems really good.

I could get a Pro Angler 12 on sale for 6127$ CAD (4427$ USD) compared to Pro Angler 14 regular price at 8479$ CAD (6188$ USD)

I know longer boat means more speed but how slower is the 12? I do like my speed of my Bigwater but ready to sacrifice.
