What can I do at this point?

I order from grubhub daily but after today I'm stopping. First time this has ever happened where I have had an order placed, it delayed until 12:30pm, called at 3PM and was told it was still processing.

I contacted again at 5PM after I saw the order was completed as of 11:14 AM, they stonewalled me saying it was delivered and tough. I contacted someone at around 7pm VIA phone where they explained the order was still being flagged by the restaurant as processed, and over 24 hours it will eventually self correct.

I called this morning and they are telling me it was delivered and tough shit. I have surveillance which I really don't want to go through. I've contacted the restaurant the night before and they said it was never picked up. The manager this morning said they had no more orders pending, and getting a follow up on that.

I emailed them and they again stonewalled me, the food was not received by me, and I have never had an order stolen from me. I still have to verify that but the likelihood is zero. A driver was never assigned, and I received no text message of the image like I always do.

I'm at the point where I'm about to charge back, I'm going to stop using the service regardless because this experience is scam like behavior - let me know if you have any advice.

EDIT: For those who are reading this who experienced a similar issue (driver never picked up, order registered as complete). Grubhub for whatever reason cannot communicate to you the following:

- They have an internal error where the restaurant didn't manually do the proper procedure to cancel the order, so Grubhub automatically just assumes it was delivered.

- Its then your responsibility to ask the restaurant to contact grubhub (they have a unique contact) to start that process to correct the order as not picked up.

They still won't tell you a refund is processing, even if they tell the restaurant it is. I literally had the restaurant on another line telling me grubhub authorized the refund, I heard them fucking say it. But then on my persona call with them, denied - same agent. What they didn't know was I was at the restaurant, so i could hear their conversation.

If the restaurant says they did the process, wait 2 days, it will go through. If no action is taken within 5 days, you either needs to harass the restaurant or chargeback.

Fucking ridiculous.

Bloody hell grubhub, how about hire drivers that actually WANT to do the fucking job.

A bit of background..

Placed an order, 15 bucks, tiped 10% 1.50 because its literally down the street, and no car and a busted knee might as well be across town for me. Waited an hour driver gets assigned, then get told the order is delayed for anoyher 40 mins.

I have been the map... driver sitting in a parking lot across the street from the restaurant. Doing fuck knows what...

Complain, get a refund...

Next day place another order, just some drinks/snacks..

12 bucks tip 10%... again an hr later get delayed another 30, then get notice that the driver canceled the order.

My question is thus... if you dont want to do the job. Why did you even sign up? Oh you need to tip more... the fuck I do. Tipping is NOT required, and the amount has aleays been based on the quality of service. NOT the whims of an entitled asshat, because - gas prices.

I'm fine paying for the service... WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY GOOD SERVUCE!

I feel like an ass

Rant!!!

God, I feel like an ass. So, my partner and I have a ritual with our toddler. On nights when it's 11 or later, we order a late-night snack. I'm in love with the lemonade from a local 24/7 deli-type store. I ordered 2 drinks, 2 sandwiches, and a kids' meal. Came to $58 with 30% tip. The driver dropped off a single bag. No drinks. I contacted him, and he said they didn't give him any drinks. I said it is on the bag; it is in the order. Can he please get my drinks? He didn't respond.

I try to get in touch with GrubHub, and the AI refunds me the money and shuts down the chat. So by call, and I lodge a complaint. I asked them to reorder on my behalf because the app shows the store is closed for ordering. And the agent went back and forth, with lots of frustration on both sides. Finally, she has me log out of the app and log back in, and suddenly I can place the order. Cool, except there's one small problem. Now I have to pay the delivery fee and tip the next driver. So her solution was to take the tip from the other driver and refund it to me, so I could tip this driver, and then refund me the delivery fee on my last order. I specifically told her not to take his entire tip, but only to take the tip I would be out, which is about $3 at 20%. She did that, and we ended the call. I feel like shit for taking part in this guy's tip.

My husband thought the drinks might still be at the store, so he went there. And they're there. So I am torn. It's clear he didn't pay attention to the order and was unwilling to fix his mistake. But I also know this is someone's livelihood.

Just to be aware, I initially tipped him 30%. I always tip my drivers between 25 and 30% because I know it's a low-paying job. I took part in it to correct his mistake. And yet I feel like an asshole.

Why do we keep trying!

Last night the order was exceptionally incorrect. We received three cheeseburgers, three sprites and one Coke. Our order was a vegetarian platter and a chicken Shawarma platter. What the F? The poor driver was like I thought that was odd as well, but you have to call the restaurant and Grubhub to get a refund and re-order - Very nice driver however, every time we order something comes wrong it’s so frustrating when you’re spending so much money on something that ends up being so disappointing. I guess we’re gonna stop using Grubhub.

I didn’t think any delivery service could be worse than Door Dash, but Grub Hub proved me wrong.

I live in a very populated area, so driver availability across all these apps isn’t an issue. I also tip 30-40% every time I place an order, so it isn’t an issue with being a douchebag zero tipper.

I used Door Dash for several years, but the terrible service and increased fees, along with a ton of Dashers refusing deliveries that don’t pay absurd tips pushed me away.

I decided a couple of weeks ago to give Grub Hub a try. I signed up for plus membership too. My first order, no issues and it was ridiculously fast. After that, 8 consecutive orders I had to cancel due to the order never being picked up, or the location not confirming the order. It wasn’t me being impatient either, I waited 1-1.5 hours beyond the end of the delivery window each time.

Today I placed an order that was actually picked up and delivered pretty quick, so I was happy. Then I opened my food. One item missing, and the pie expired two days ago. I contacted support, and talked to an actual person. They told me they were unable to do anything because I had too many refunds on my account.

Excuse me? 100% of those refunds were a result of cancellations because the orders were either never confirmed or picked up. I don’t understand how that’s relevant, or why a cancellation works against you. What the actual fuck?

I cancelled my membership and have no reason to ever give them another chance. I hope all these shitty services put themselves out of business. They get worse by the minute.

Any way to get useful support?

I tried chat support and email support but the people responding were clearly not trying to even understand my problem let alone resolve it. (My issue is that I bought Grubhub gift cards in order to purchase groceries, but it turns out there is no way to apply them to groceries despite nothing disallowing it in the T&C.). Is there some channel where they have agency to actually address problems? 10 years ago I could tweet @ them but that doesn't seem to work at most places anymore.

New Grubhub Driver Account SingUp in DFW Stuck on the waitlist for months does anyone know an "Instant Hire" zip code right now?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been stuck on the Grubhub waitlist in my home market (DFW) for a long time. I know the trick about changing your zip code to a high-demand area to get past the "We'll text you" screen, but I can't seem to find a location that is actually open for immediate onboarding right now.
Does anyone know of a specific city or zip code (anywhere in the US) that is currently bypassing the waitlist and going straight to the background check/onboarding?
I’m looking to get activated ASAP and then I'll handle the market transfer later once I have some deliveries under my belt. Any leads on "Priority Expansion" zones or under-served markets would be a huge help!
Thanks in advance!
