Bringing Home in a week

I have a Male Dane and a male Mastiff both neutered. I have had two other Danes. I have always brought them home as puppies. This will be the first time I have brought home an adult. She is a year old. She will also be my first female. Her name is Riley. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Brought home today instead

I posted yesterday about picking up this girl next week. But when I went today to meet her, I found out she has never been to a vet and she looks very thin for 1 year and 5 months. So I asked if I could take her today and they said yes. Does she look to thin? I have only had males and never remember them being this thin. Also making vet appointment tomorrow.

Looking to rehome 6 month old :(

I’m in the Cincinnati area, and I’m not sure if anyone has recs on where to list her etc. I’m chronically ill and recently had a neck injury which causes lightheadedness some days, and she’s just too much to handle with all of that. I know I can’t give her the time/energy she deserves for the training she needs. I think she would need someone experienced, because she does have some minor behavioral issues. She doesn’t like being told no and she’ll test you/boundaries. She gets close to your face and barks and snaps. She never bites my face but she will nip at the rest of my body when upset. She’s not fully potty trained, she goes outside but sometimes still in the house. She’s not spayed yet. She gets along really well with my other female dog, but gets protective over water. And she’s not aggressive with cats, but she is a little rough trying to play with them. My cats are super timid in general so they won’t come out much anymore which is a problem for me.

Gotcha Day!

Five years ago today, I rescued this sweet girl. She was taken by animal control and been severely neglected. She had chronic, horrible ear infections and a wound on her ear tip that wouldn’t heal. She was significantly underweight and heartworm positive. They let her stay in the office in a box while she waited to be rescued.

Today she is happy, healthy and the absolute sweetest girl.
Happy gotcha day, Iris!

Great Dane Rehoming

Good morning all, I unfortunately must rehome my great dane puppy due to an increased amount of work hours i must work and possible living arrangement change. she is approximately 13 weeks old, very lazy and very cuddly with a huge appetite. She gets along with my cats and plays with my small terrier. I am located in los angeles. She does a good job of pooping outside but still uses pads for peeing. Let me know if you have any questions. Edit: I am located in los angeles.

Just wondering…

i have a full great dane. Atleast thats what we were told, she was from an accidental litter (we got to meet the mom, dad and “grandmother??”) but she was also the “runt” of the litter.
She looks and acts like a great dane but ive always been a lil curious because from most danes ive encountered shes slightly smaller than them, height and weight wise.
I know they all come in diff. Shapes and sizes but shes our first dane and wanted to know what yall think. Obviously we will love her either way she is our baby she is such a smart and goofy girl!!! Shes 4 yrs old about 100lbs height wise not sure but her face reaches above standard dining tables lol
Edit: we dont see the need in testing her because 1. We will love her either way 2. Shes spayed and dont want to breed her 3. Im generally just curious

Is my baby a double merle?

Can anybody help me identify if my great dane puppy is a double merle or not? I unfortunately didnt know about the double merle gene before buying her and im very concerned for her

Her pupils constrict and dilate with light
She also reacts to sounds
Both her parents were harlequin danes

I’m at a loss…

My Great dane is 3 years old. We had her since she was 2 months old and she has ALWAYS, been itchy. I was told to bathe her every two weeks, use medicated shampoos, that didn’t work so we tried oat meal shampoos instead, also didn’t work. We found out she was allergic to chicken so we switched her food. We started purchasing fish oil because we were told she was probably lacking Omega3, that didn’t help. Her coat sure is shinny but sheds TREMENDOUSLY and the itch never stopped. We took her to the vet and they prescribed apoquel. It worked and it gave us and her some relief for $114 every 30 days. Lately she’s started to smell as what people describe “corn chips” which I’ve read is yeast. We keep our house very clean, I wash their bedding regularly, de shed her every other day, put coconut oil on her twice a week, bathe her every two-three weeks. The apoquel has helped but as soon as the 12 hours is up the itching begins again. I’m wondering if any of you Great Dane owners have dealt with the same issues and if there is something yall found to be a permanent solution not just one that suppresses the itching for a few hours. Am I doing something wrong?
I feel like terrible dog parent because no matter what I do she doesn’t seem to be completely comfortable.

Hershel will be 10 months in just over a week! My partner is 5'2 for reference. We're guessing he's around the lower 70kg range now, We haven't weighed him for about a month. We've also started to get startled clutching pearl reactions from people on the street now who own smaller dogs, some of them even seem offended at times but he loves them nonetheless!

Any other movie watchers?

Artie likes to watch cartoons with me but I'm watching Flow for the first time and she has stayed watching it the whole time it's been on haha.

New food??

I have an almost 19 weeks Great Dane mix. He’s very very thin and I’m not sure why, especially since he’s eating 8 cups a day split into 3 meals.

Currently, he’s on Purina Pro Plan large breed puppy kibble. Is there something else that might work better? I’ve heard Blue Buffalo is good, same with hills and nulo. I just don’t know if he needs even more or if it’s just his food?

My baby fought with a spicy bee

Just wanted to share what a bee sting does to a dane pup.

First time dog dad, can't get enough of him, but miss when I could just pick him up and move around. They grow up so quick.

Sad news :(

Unfortunately, due to an upcoming move, I need to rehome my 5-month-old female double merle Great Dane located in Houston, Texas.

She is deaf, but she has an amazing temperament and does very well with other dogs and people. She’s affectionate, gentle, social, and has a steady energy level but still loves to nap like a typical puppy.

She is crate trained and leash trained. She is not spayed. I want to find her a safe, loving home that understands her needs and will give her the attention she deserves.

There will be a reasonable rehoming fee to ensure she goes to a serious and committed home.

Please message me if seriously interested. I can provide more information and photos privately.

When Jack thinks he's a sophisticated concert pianist working on his latest symphony haha. I got this piano as a gift few months back and it's his favorite now. I tried to get him away from it, fearing he'd do damage to it. But then, i'm amazed at his pitch
