It's so sad that it's funny... (Pink Turns Blue in Portland)
I'm just coming home from seeing Pink Turns Blue (played with QUAL, Octavian Winters, and Centrifugal Force Machine who were all amazing!!)-- and they were absolutely fantastic.
PTB is my absolute favorite band. I mention them almost any time someone brings up music in general. I'd seen PTB once before but because of transportation issues (had to catch the last bus) I left the concert early... so when they came back to Portland, I knew I had to stay for every second.
And I did! It was fantastic and they are such amazing musicians-- so I went to the merch booth wanting a momento to remember it by.
Got one of their CDs "Tainted" and they were right next to me, and signing + taking pictures with people-- so I fumbled to get the plastic off my new CD so they could sign it. Unfortunately, I was so panicky that I split the CD case in half ;;; and fumbled trying to get the dust cover out so they could sign it-- because the entire album is black and I assumed their signing markers were also black.
Spoiler alert... I will never know now what color their signing pens were ;;;
In my rush to break from the crowd and get my CD case fixed after they signed it, and I told them that I adored them, SOMEHOW the dust jacket fell OUT from the busted CD case and literally disappeared into the ether. I spent the entirety of QUAL's set searching the ground and around literally every single spot I passed in my rush.
It seriously totally disappeared.
By the time I realized that I looked everywhere it could possibly be (and even places it couldn't-- and begging little prayers for whatever goblin stole it to return it out of sheer goodwill...)-- PTB had already left. Gone into the dark, rainy night like a flock of vampire bats. I was left only with my dust jacket-less CD (which I still love!) and my sorrows.
I'm on the last train home and trying not to feel incredibly depressed about the bad luck, and just how soaked through my shoes are.
TLDR; I'm a dummy and somehow lost my signed CD dust jacket LITERALLY ONE MINUTE after my favorite band signed it. Will not stop going to Pink Turns Blue concerts until I finally have my perfect night (and a signed CD...)
I made this with real guitars and drums in GarageBand

Most romantic goth song?
In "The Philosophy of Composition," Edgar Allan Poe said that beauty is a pure impression that elevates the soul. We Goths see beauty in darkness, and while I've never been a particularly romantic person, now more than ever I feel connected to these themes. I see beauty in the all-consuming romance, as well as in romantic devotion. So, just out of curiosity, what's the most romantic Goth song for you, and why?

i was at my (hair) school the other day and my teacher was playing music and there was a song that ive DEFINITELY heard before but i CANNOT remember the name, or the artist.

Autumn's Grey Solace AI usage for the "The Neverending" video clip
The ethereal wave band Autumn's Grey Solace released a music video for the song "The Neverending" from the 2026 album of the same name which features AI elements. They acknowledged this in the comments, but defended their choice as an "artistic way to enhance our videos to create imagery that conveys the message of our music", and emphasized that the music is human-made. This is quite similar to how Brendan Perry defended the AI cover art for Dead Can Dance's single "Our Day Will Come".
Regardless of the quality of the resulting product, do you think it's acceptable for bands to use this technology to better illustrate the deeper meaning of their music? If, in 5 or 10 years, the AI would be able to create high quality imagery that perfectly represents the artist's intentions, would you be fine with that, or the usage of AI is inherently contemptible to you?
Edit: the original user's comment which criticized them for AI usage got deleted. The first paragraph contains a direct quote from their response which is no longer accessible.
Edit 2: they privated the video. I guess this shows that they do listen to their fans, unlike some other bands featured on similar threads.
I think I was just objectified/fetishized, and I hate it
I'm sorry if this subject is talked to death, but this is the first real time this has happened to me I think, and it's quite upsetting.
I'm non-binary but appear female.
I posted a couple pictures on here and r/GothFashion a little while ago, and I just got a reddit message from someone who saw one and called it beautiful. I said thank you. They asked if I was on a date when I took it. I said no, I have a partner of 20 years. Their response was "ohhh great, nice interaction, thanks".
What a way to make someone feel very little. I know all about the fetishization, and I hate it, but this was new.
How do you guys handle it? Should you stand up for yourself and say something back, or just ignore it?
What happend to the danse society?
Could anyone explain what happened to this band?
Recently I've discovered this blatant ai cover on their album from last year, which (as you'd guess) is quite disappointing.
From what I've heard, after releasing the first 3 albums the band broke up on tense terms, resulting in departure of most of the original members including vocalist: Steve Rawlings.
Does anyone got some insight what exactly went wrong?
(sorry for my bad English, it isn't my native language)
Goth Clubs/Events in the eastern provinces of Canada
Hello hello,
I am planning to go on a road trip this summer and as the title says would be interested to know if there are some fun events/clubs I could visit.
Talking about Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Neufundland .
Can someone please help providing lyrics or transcribe this Paralysed Age song?
English is not my first language and I have been struggling to transcribe the lyrics for this song for a while. Would be really appreciated.

open.spotify.comCan someone break down the difference between post-punk and deathrock? In terms of music and lyric
(Sorry, didn't know which tag I should have used)
I was talking to my girlfriend about whether Funeral Parade is post-punk or deathrock. She thinks it’s more post-punk, but can’t really explain why. What’s the difference between the two in general, not just for Funeral Parade?
What musically and lyrically sets them apart? How can I hear a song and tell if it fits more into one or the other?
