Glass Beach Tribute Comic

Im espy, I draw diary comics. I dedicated this entry to glass beach and I put my heart into it!

Every page is inspired by an album cover and a song.

And because its a diary comic, its about all the ways glass beach has changed my life. But i dedicate this to honor the impact of glass beach on the world and every other trans or queer person whos lives were changed by glass beach. It may be over now, but their music meant so much for us all. Still it will continue to move people and unite us!

(also weird sidenote, but me and lav wrote the current second most liked post to this subreddit lol. The one about like "are LGBTQ people allowed" i was logged into my throwaway acc at the time and never expected it to get any attention. So haha. uhm wow lol.)

I'm not sure when this happened but nobody reported on it yet so i guess i have to!!

title is kinda clickbait but i'm 99% sure this is the finished version. the lyrics are different and the song sounds MUCH more polished. It was already my favorite song from her EVER and oh my god it is so so much better now!!

Like many, I'm very saddened by the band's breakup. For me Glass Beach was the first band that made me feel seen as a queer and disabled person, so while I'm very excited for more You Are An Angel and other projects, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for other bands similar to gleach, especially if thier songs deal with queerness and disability?

glass beach has always been an extremely important band in my life, and was my epiphany and gateway to becoming the musician I am today, and have always helped me through the toughest of times.

To commemorate the impact they've made on my life, and them disbanding, I've decided I want to plan out a tattoo to get (it's been on my mind for a few years now).

What ideas (especially from the first album) do y'all have for me to get?

following the official breakup of glass beach as a project, I just wanna quickly clarify some things real quick!

first things first, this subreddit and the discord server are staying the way they are! no renames! just some occasional visual branding... both of them are community hubs for the band AND their members, and with all of the members having their own projects you can follow linked here, I believe it's already set up for something like this, so don't worry about missing out on new projects if you keep up with either of those platforms.

I genuinely can't help it, every time I write something actually postable (I don't post most of my fics) it just feels like glass beach lyrics suit it best. Sometimes I look at casio dad lyrics too.

...I definitely need to change the glass beach title at some point cuz that is kind of long. But the rest is there to stay.

In other news, I've realized that I'm not really sad that glass beach has ended. Perhaps the monologue at the start of coelacanth plays a part in this, but the truth is... I'm just happy they made something in the first place. They could have stopped at TFGBA. They could have never made an album, or even a song together. But they did.

I think when time comes to pass (With TFGBA being at least 6 years ago) we forget about the effort it must've taken to create. I think back to the happiness I felt discovering cold weather back then. I think back to feeling enchanted with a music style unlike anything else.

It's still incredible to me, because I've looked for that style in other bands and artists for years and I always come back empty-handed. They've established such a particular amosphere. With as "little" as two albums. Isn't it baffling?

what songs do you wish would've gotten music videos?

Personally i think a slip under the door music video would've been fantastic. Dark and moody, cool colors, in a bedroom with a long spooky hallway, sleep paralysis.

motions could've been great too, especially with a big city business type setting.

And I really wish they went through with that cancelled bedroom community music video

Not much more to it. Should we expect to see restocks of merch still? Or is current stock all we have.

Glass Beach is pretty important to me so I wanted to know if I would ever be able to get my hands on that incredible the killer shirt.
