Phone holders in a genny

Why type of phone holders are you guys using? I can’t think of anywhere to put one that doesn’t take up the cup holder which I don’t want to sacrifice. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Reminder to clean your valves

150k bk2 3.8 with no catch cans. Soaked for 30 minutes in b12, agitated with a pick, then walnut shell blasted with a harbor freight sand blaster. Feels like it picked up an extra 30hp.

had her less than a year and an irresponsible driver took it all in less than a second

lots of blood, sweat and tears today, but made it through alive…. just car-less now </3 i’ll never find a better genesis than this girl right here. sucks that one bad decision can alter someone’s life so drastically

Boost Leak

I had installed a GFB BOV about a week ago and it’s been perfect since. However today I noticed while driving it sounds like constant air either being pulled in or pushed out. I brought up the car to 5k RPM and I’m not getting the pshhh I was originally getting. In park when revved up to 4K it works perfectly fine. The video attached of it in park and revved. I don’t know if this had anything to do with it but I had disconnected the battery to add an aftermarket head unit. When I drove the car last night it was driving perfectly it just happened after getting the aftermarket head unit installed. I don’t know if it’s something to do with the ecu or if there an actual leak. I checked the tubing for the bov it still looks perfectly fine with no cuts. The clamps are also on tight on both ends and the spring was tighten precisely when I first installed the bov. 2012 genesis coupe 2.0T. I have no lights on the dash and the car doesn’t feel sluggish while doing small pulls.

Popping noise from engine bay

I started the car today as usual and as soon as I turned it on it started making these popping kind of sounds while idiling and when I revved it and I’ve never heard this kinda sound before. I haven’t done any pulls lately and It was completely fine yesterday so I don’t know what could the cause of it be. As for the oil level, I’ve been checking it weekly and it has never been below the full line and I still have 3500km until the next one, I’m gonna take to Hyundai for an inspection also but if any of you guys have an idea to what it might be I’d greatly appreciate it. It’s a 2013 3.8 GT

AI made me question the Genesis coupe design

I used ChatGPT to photoshop some wheels I was looking to buy onto a Genesis Coupe so I could see how I liked the look better, and the AI was mostly accurate except for a few things like the front bumper, fog lights, taillights, spoiler, and the windows behind the doors. However, after comparing images, I kinda like the sharper design of the windows better. Why couldn't Hyundai just do that from the factory?

Manual transmission shifter play

I had someone install the Uniq Performance short shifter on my 2016 3.8 and theres been a fair amount of play in the shifter, probably slightly more than 1 centimeter or 3/8 inch to each side even while in gear.

Can anyone comment if this is normal for this shifter and if not what I could do to fix it? TIA

Idk why is so hard to find information in this topic. Could someone tell me which manifold line should I use for my bk2 HKS BOV?

Best way to go about fixing this? (Read description)

**TL;DR: I damaged my front bumper two years ago. I want to fix it now, but I don't know if I should make an insurance claim, fix it myself, or pay out of pocket.**

Hi, guys! I have a 2010 3.8 6MT Genesis Coupe, track edition.

About two years ago, I hit a piece of roadkill that fucked up my front bumper, and while the damage is mild and purely cosmetic, it has bothered me so much. It also damaged a lower piece on the side of the car, but honestly I'm not THAT bothered by it, I just care mostly about the bumper.

For whatever reason, I did not make an insurance claim on the car. But now, I really want to get it fixed before the summer. But I am worried about how to go about getting it fixed.

Here's what's going through my head right now:

**Option 1: Insurance claim.**

The pros: would only cost $250, the price of my deductible, would be relatively easy and painless.

The cons: Would certainly raise my premiums, and there's a chance that my claim would be denied, and my premiums would be raised even if they didn't accept my claim.

**Option 2: Fix it myself.**

Right now for sale is a spare bumper I could buy online. Shipping + handling would come out to $540.

The pros: relatively inexpensive, no effect on my premiums.

The cons: I have zero experience with body work, and I'm uncertain that I would be able to fix it myself, or whether or not I have the necessary tools.

**Option 3: Go outside insurance.**

I went to a body shop I really like a while ago to get a quote on a repair. They told me that if I went outside of insurance, they would charge me $1800 for a spare bumper, and $2,000 if I got the side fixed as well. have experience with them, 4 years ago I was the victim of a hit-and-run, and they did an exceptionally good job fixing it up.

Pros: Guaranteed fix, might also fix side of car, no raising my premiums/damage to my record.

Cons: extremely expensive.

**Potential Option 4: Find a DIY method.**

I've been kind of wondering whether or not I could find a way to fix the cosmetics and make that part of the car look good without getting a spare bumper. If anyone happens to have any suggestions, please let me know.

Is this the correct location of this filter?

This is a Hyundai genesis coupe 2010 2.0 turbo bk1, I would like to know if that is the correct address of that mini filter that I also don’t know what it’s called and what it’s for

I would like to know if the green side is on the right side

Tire Size Recommendations

I just picked up a 2013 Genesis Coupe ( first genny ) and got AVID AV06 rims. Its 18 x 9.5j front and 18 x 10.5j rear. Whats the best tire size you guys suggest I should put on these rims. Car is bone stock and stock ride height. Want it to look good and not lose out on ride quality. Thanks!

Ive been wanting new taillights for a while so I’m finally pulling the trigger.

I just can’t decide between the clear or smoked white spec D taillights. I’ve seen the smoked on a white gen and it looks so clean. I’m just not sure if it smoked will be overkill on a black gen and if I should go with clear.

Any recommendations are appreciated and if anyone has any pictures they can share of theirs I’d appreciate it. Thanks!

gas drains fast, full tank mileage gone down

hi i have a 2014 coupe 3.8, it has 86,000 miles on it. when i bought it the gas tank would fill up to 350, nearly a year later its down to filling up max at 270, i do rapid accelerate on occasion and have been told that could be why but i want to hear from people who actually own this car.

im not completely sure on why but the gas also drains quite fast, i do go from school to work and run errands many times a week, but its at the point where im going from full 250 down to 50 in a week.
anyone else dealt with this?

New to the group, new to the car, picked her up 2 Saturdays ago because my project 300 is throwing a tantrum. 15 R spec, came with 118k miles but only 2 owners and the last bloke religiously oil changed every 3k on the dot, got her fully serviced at the hyundai dealership ( though they somehow missed the squeaking serpentine belt and or pulley) Sounds good, low rumble which i like so I don't hassle the neighbours on cold starts, but boy howdy all the squeaking from the back is doin my head in lmfao..

Discontinued Carbon Fiber version of the Gemini AR Hood. Had this laying forever in my attic and decided to put it on. Decided to go in a different direction. It is brand new, literally took it out of the box, installed, and took these pictures.

Fitment is great, see the attached pictures.

$1300 firm. No shipping, I am located in the Richmond VA area. I can probably deliver it to you (if it fits in the back of a Palisade) in the surrounding states, for a small fee.
