Hi again! A little while ago I posted asking for feedback on my game’s capsule art, and honestly your comments were incredibly helpful. I got a lot of thoughtful critique, and I spent quite a bit of time going through everything people pointed out.

The main issues with my first two versions were pretty clear:
Version 1 felt too dark, hard to read, and didn’t really give that cozy feeling.
Version 2 looked more polished at first glance, but many people said it didn’t match the actual style of my game and had a bit of an AI-generated vibe, which made it feel less authentic and what does it turn away.

Some people suggested combining both versions. Taking the girl from the second one and placing her into the first, brighter composition. I tried that… but honestly, it ended up feeling cluttered and messy. Maybe I just don’t have the skill yet to make that idea work properly.

So instead, I stepped back and made a simpler third version, focusing on what mattered most:

✨ making it brighter, while keeping it true to the in-game art style (I actually sampled colors directly from my game and only pushed them slightly brighter);
✨ making the room itself larger and easier to read at a glance;
✨ redesigning the logo/title treatment. The first version felt too “computer-ish,” the second felt plastic-like and the heart shape made it harder to read;
✨ softening the overall feel with rounded corners for a cozier vibe;
✨ trying to preserve that warm glow / ambient lighting feeling I wanted from the beginning.

So… this is Version 3 😅

What feels stronger now and what still feels off?
What do you like, what don’t you like, and what would you change?

Iʼd really like to get some honest feedback, including brutal honesty 🙌

With this capsule, I went into the Steam Next Fest, and I'm currently sitting on 260 wishlists. This is my 1st ever Steam game, and I don't know if my game would make my money back; hence, I'm hesitant to spend my money on a Steam capsule. do you guys think it is a good idea?

We reached out to around 10 capsule artists and got quotes ranging between $650 and $1500. Unfortunately, that was above our budget. So we decided to work with an illustrator who had very limited experience with capsule art, but for a price slightly below that range.

Overall, we’re happy with the artwork, but we weren’t fully satisfied specifically with the title design. After asking for a revision, we still weren’t quite convinced, so we tried to create something ourselves. But it’s honestly quite difficult to feel fully satisfied with the outcome in this kind of work.

We’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts and feedback.

I do think the logo for my game looks nice and the subtitle is memorable but its for sure a lot less detailed than the average game capsule and im woried people are going to think that I put a lot less effort into my game because of that. I could have detailed drawing as my capsule but I would have to remove the eye catching tagline
