Canada Goose at Regent Mall (Chapters entrance)
(plus some bonus pictures of the workers preparing to paint the entrance arrow on the Kent driveway)
I only recently learned it’s Canada Goose, not Canadian Goose. I’d like to take this chance to humbly apologise for my error

cbc.caSuggestions for Short Visit
Coming to Fredericton later this month for UNB Convocation. Program was fully online so never been here before. Any suggestions for a short 2-3 day visit? Breakfast places? Sandwiches? Bakeries? Pizza? Things to do? Thanks :)
Fredericton Activities
What do y'all think Fredericton needs to make it more exciting? more live music? more community events? does anyone have any examples?
Anyone here into tatting? And should we form an outdoor craft group this summer?
Not tattooing, but the craft of tatting lacework. I stumbled upon a Shorts in YT over the weekend of a young man doing shuttle tatting. As a knitter, crocheter, weaver, macrame-er, cross stitcher, and recent woodworker, it peaked my interest. Do I have time to add yet another hobby to my ever growing list while working 44hrs/wk? Probably not. Is that going to stop me from learning? Absolutely not.
Problem is tatting isn't an overly popular craft, so I'm limited to buying supplies online. In doing some research, I found that needle tatting is a better starting point than shuttle tatting, but either way, I'm not able to find either item in local stores. I did place an order on Amazon for needles, and if I choose to also learn shuttle tatting, I'll buy a shuttle on Etsy.
Long story short (TL;DR): If anyone out there has any tatting supplies (needle or shuttle) they no longer use, please let me know.
Also, I'd love to show off my skills and find a group of textile crafters in town to get me out of the house this summer. I was thinking Officers Square to lounge with our various craft tools and revise the old tradition of creating in groups. Anyone interested for Saturday afternoons?
The Shake Shed Freddy really thought this AI photo was a-okay 💀
Came across this mess on Facebook. It has it all - random gibberish text, the AI prompt/instructions visible on a sticky note in the background, a Gemini watermark, whole packages of fudge covered Oreos stuck in the milkshake, random Betty Crocker half-spoons, and a box of non-existent Oreos in the background.
Like…nobody reviewed this before posting it publicly?
If you’re going to use AI tools for business advertising at least make sure the image doesn’t look like a fever dream.
No one in the comments seems to notice. We’re cooked.
Election Predictions
Any election predictions for tonight?
Confirmation of Notice of Intent to Expropriate – Leasehold Interest Held by Fredericton Exhibition Limited, Smythe and Saunders Streets
Special meeting one day before election
As an interested bystander am curious who you think will win the mayoral race in Fredericton. Not who you hope wins, not who you voted for but who you think will win.
Atwin or Hicks?
I’ve noticed homelessness and drug use seem to be getting worse in downtown Fredericton, especially around Kings Place. Today during lunch hour, I witnessed a young girl clearly under the influence, nodding off right outside. She eventually lay down on the ground with a meth pipe still in her hand. Shortly after, a man (I assume her boyfriend) came out with a box of Twinkies, was kicking her trying to wake her up, and they were refused bus service because of how impaired she was. What stood out to me is that this was all happening in broad daylight, in a busy public area. Security did come out and told them to move along, but they just moved a few feet and stayed there. It’s starting to feel unsafe at times, and it’s difficult knowing that kids and families are regularly exposed to situations like this in public spaces.
I don’t really know what the solution is, but it feels like something more needs to be done. It’s hard to ignore how visible and frequent situations like this are becoming.
It’s experiences I been having since January at least once a week where you got a cash or a register of a store and whenever someone else comes in after me, they always stand so damn close to me almost breathing on my neck. Why????
It happens so much at the dollar store or fast food, they get so close to me that they can see me put my pin or put their hand on the counter next to me. Is this normal? like it makes me feel unsafe so much…
I read the article and understand the lease expired and that it was just a temporary zoning variance to allow it to exist there in the first place. I also read city hall clarified that homelessness and poverty is a provincial issue, and I agree/know that it is. But, curious. With these mayoral elections coming up, is there anything any of those candidates can realistically do to help fast track this in another location/help with the homelessness situation? Or is this purely wishful thinking? Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question 😅
Does Costco take expired propane tanks?
I need to buy a new one. I'm wondering if they'll take the old one. Or do I need to drive farther to recycle it?
After the spray paint on the road...
Stay classy, Hanwell.
Ok, who are we voting for and why?
- Steve Hicks
- Jenica Atwin
- John Reid
I'd like to know the rationale for your decision (I.e., past voting record, quotes from the candidates, unverifiable personal anecdotes...etc.)
Ps: early voting starts today!
