now growing 9 more leaves, presently. it now waters kind of like a bonsai. the pot looks small, but that's a huge pot, 17" i think. also, the ceiling is 11 feet or so.

it keeps pushing down & out as it touches the ceiling. after these leaves grow out, i'll top it & pull it back to the ceiling with another hook & line 🤷

as seen in pic #3, growing some nice adventitous roots. developing some exposed root action... considering guiding more of them downward by some means 🤔. going to throw away the elephant.

This tree

I had never seen such a big fiddle leaf fig. I got help identifying the tree and now posting here for the proper appreciation.
(Check the person below the tree for size context).

What’s going on with mine?

I’ve had this plant I think around 3 years now and the leaves have never looked as bad as they do recently. The last 2 years I had it by a north facing window so it didn’t really get TOO much light, but around 6 months or so ago I moved it by a west facing window so it’s been getting more light in the afternoon/evening.

It’s still sprouting new leaves on occasion, but all the older leaves below them have started developing these brown spots and some leaves have withered and fallen off.

Is this not enough watering? Too much? Too much sun?

My wife and i have had this plant for about a year now and we cannot keep the leaves from drooping , any suggestions? We think we may have overwatered it a bit, but have cut back on it and water it once every two weeks

Is this normal?

I rescued this variegated fiddle leaf fig and everything is new to me! (Ignore the crispy-ness, it was like that when I got it). When I bought it, it already had a new leaf pushing out then shortly after, she pushed out another one. This is the first new leaf that I feel like I can take credit for!

I hadn't noticed this with the other leaves, but is it normal for the new leaf to be wrapped around a sheath on the inside? Or is that brown tip/brown spotted area not a sheath and actually something else?

Really here to learn... Overall she seems pretty happy 😊

I was walking out to my car when I noticed my grandma’s neighbor watering his plants.
He was so happy that I was so mesmerized by this beauty! This plant is approximately 35 years old.

Holes in my Fiddle-leaf fig

I’ve had this plant for over a year now. She is my pride and joy. Shooting out new leaves all over the place. Just noticed this new leaf with some holes in it. I’m devastated

She faces a large window and gets lots of light. I water every 2-3 weeks when the soil is dry. I give her a full shower. Standard potting soil with good drainage. Started fertilizing her more often now the weather is warmer.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

What are we doing wrong?

This fiddle keeps dropping lower leaves. Our other 4 around the house are doing great, but this one (the biggest one) leaves keep turning yellow and then brown, and has had no new growth in the couple months we've had it. We had it shipped, and the delivery was delayed for a day or two, and I wonder if that put too much stress on it being boxed up for longer than usual? It gets direct light for a few hours a day, and plenty of indirect light. We water it when the soil is dry two inches down. We've considered a grow light, but it's too tall for one really, and the ceiling is too high to put one in. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Gave it a new pot and added a companion Hoya vine

Thinking it may need another prune back in the next year!

I just bought this from home Depot first time owner help me

First time fiddle leaf fig buyer. Don't know much about plants either in general. I just got this 10" one from home depot. What can I do to ensure it's success?

Flf not growing at all!

I pinched off the top of my fig about 9 months ago and there’s been zero growth since then! Hasn’t lost a single leaf, sits in a south facing window, and gets watered maybe every 1-2 weeks. I’ve tried scoring/keiki at different places on the stem and it hasn’t reacted to anything :(

Hasn’t died tho so that’s my only solace right now haha

I've all but given up on this guy... Where would you chop?

Plan to repot and chop. Where should I make the cut?

Progress report of a major chop and prop!

I chopped my 5 yr old 14’ tall fiddle hoping to stimulate more branching on top and hopefully grow the trunk thicker as well. It was nerve racking. But one month later I can happily report 3 new growths up top and all 8 of the propagated branches are growing roots, even the super woody ones! I’m turning the plant hoping to get some additional branches up top so it will grow more evenly. Fingers crossed!

Anyone successful with propagating?

I’ve been trying to propagate my FLFs for at least 8 weeks now and have had no success. I have one with no leaves on them and others with gigantic leaves still on as demonstrated in these photos. I used a root hormone initially before putting it in water. I’ve had no success. Should I give up by now,

When and where to cut?

Hello! I’ve had it for 2 years. I know the pot is too big for it but it’s been growing great this spring. So. When and where to cut? Also this is my cat Goose! She is 5 years old.

Growing strong!!

I will have this tree for about three years come this June. Wasn’t sure if I needed to cut the top as it is touching the ceiling.
