The Mastermind Year – The Double Life of Dominik Mysterio Story

The Mastermind Year – The Double Life of Dominik Mysterio Story

What if Dominik Mysterio did something no other wrestler has done?

Phase 1: The Ghost is Born (TNA → NXT)

A mysterious masked wrestler appears in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

  • Full-body gear, no tattoos, no identity
  • Wrestles in constantly changing styles:
    • AJ Styles
    • Seth Rollins
    • Rey Mysterio
  • Fans call him “The Mimic”

He wins, points to his head… and disappears.

Phase 2: Royal Rumble Shock

At the Royal Rumble:

  • The masked man enters late
  • Eliminates top stars using their own moves
  • Outsmarts everyone and wins

An unknown masked wrestler now has a WrestleMania title opportunity.

Meanwhile…

Dominik Mysterio is still appearing weekly, completely normal.

No one suspects a thing.

Phase 3: Two Lives at Once

The illusion begins:

  • Masked man dominates in NXT
  • Dominik continues with The Judgment Day on main roster

They feel like two different people:

  • Different styles
  • Different personalities
  • Different presence

Only one subtle connection…

👉 Both point to their head after wins.

No one catches it.

Phase 4: Money in the Bank – The Perfect Decoy

At Money in the Bank:

Dominik Mysterio (UNMASKED) enters the ladder match.

  • Cheats
  • Scrambles
  • Steals the victory

Dominik is now Mr. Money in the Bank.

Key detail:

  • The masked man does NOT appear

This convinces everyone:

>

Phase 5: The Illusion is Complete

For months, both identities thrive:

  • Masked man = Royal Rumble winner, serious and elite
  • Dominik = MITB holder, arrogant and opportunistic

Dominik constantly brags:

>

Fans don’t realize…

He already controls EVERYTHING.

Phase 6: WrestleMania Night 1 – The First Crown

At WrestleMania Night 1:

  • The masked man challenges for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Wins clean in a calculated match

Still masked. Still unknown.

Now:

  • Masked man = World Heavyweight Champion
  • Dominik = Mr. Money in the Bank

Two “different” people holding ultimate power.

Phase 7: WrestleMania Night 2 – The Perfect Reveal

Main event: WWE Championship match.

  • Brutal back-and-forth
  • Both competitors down
  • Referee knocked out

The Arrival

The masked man’s music hits.

He walks out slowly…

  • Still masked
  • Holding the World Heavyweight Championship

The crowd explodes.

Shock Attack

He enters the ring…

Looks at both competitors…

Then—

CRACK!

He smashes the WWE Champion with the World Heavyweight Title.

Total chaos.

The Twist Builds

Instead of finishing things…

He pauses.

Rolls out of the ring.

Reaches underneath…

Pulls out the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Now the crowd is confused:

  • “That’s Dominik’s briefcase!”
  • “Where is Dominik?!”

THE REVEAL

He steps back into the ring…

Slowly removes the mask…

IT’S Dominik Mysterio.

The arena ERUPTS.

Everything clicks at once:

  • The masked Royal Rumble winner
  • The World Heavyweight Champion
  • Mr. Money in the Bank

All the same person.

Final Takeover

Dominik smirks.

Hands the briefcase to the ref.

Cashes in immediately.

  • Frog Splash
  • 1… 2… 3…

FINAL IMAGE

Dominik stands on the ramp:

  • World Heavyweight Championship on one shoulder
  • WWE Championship on the other

The Judgment Day comes out celebrating.

He points to his head…

And says:

“I’m not just the future…
I’m the smartest man in WWE history.”

Fireworks explode.

Fantasy booking a Pat Mcafee replacement tonight on Smackdown

To make sense of a story and character that feels a bit random with Pat Mcafee, I would replace Pat tonight with Jesse “The Body” Ventura. While this move wouldn’t really get people excited or move tickets, I think it would make the most sense at this point in the story to create the best narrative moving forward. (I know he’s old and would get no reaction but just a fantasy booking for fun)

I’d have Randy turn on Pat tonight by punting him, then viciously attack Cody (to remain the heel) then introduce Jesse as his manager/voice. Here’s why:

  1. Given what Pat said in his promo, about not liking this new generation of wrestlers and wanting that old school back, it felt like words right out the mouth of Jesse Ventura. A staple of the older generation and an incredible voice that’s much more believable than Pat. Mark Henry said on Busted Open right when Randy turned, that guys like Jesse would love this.

  2. In a recent SNME Jesse made a comment on commentary that he paved the way for commentators to make the amount of money they make today. It would be very believable that Jesse sees Pat as someone who is being handed everything while Jesse paved the way. TKO wants Pat as the next big thing while it should’ve been Jesse in his prime. Now you have a reason for Jesse to get in Randy’s ear and kick Mcafee to the curb.

  3. Jesse on commentary has expressed his disdain in the past for both Dusty and Cody. Feeling that neither of them fit as what a true pro wrestler should be. Dusty didn’t have the look to be there. And he was furious when Cody cheated against KO at SNME by using a chair. Why not join Randy, the embodiment of what Jesse believes pro wrestling is and use it to take Cody out.

  4. Right now the story feels like it’s about Pat. But if Jesse is the replacement, since he’s old and can’t physically intervene, it puts the focus back on Cody vs Randy and actually makes Randy feel like a heel and not a marketing puppet, now giving him a true heel manager by his side similar to how Paul Heyman is used over on Raw.

While Pat can definitely bring more energy and entertainment to the story, fantasy booking Ventura in is just an idea of how you could get the focus back on Cody and Randy and not have a repeat Mania finish with involvement from Pat leading to fans being disappointed.

Rebooking WWE 2004 Post Draft (Week One)

2004 to most seems like a fever dream of a year. It remains one of the most surreal chapters in the history of the WWE. The “Ruthless Aggression” had reached new heights on the back end of its biggest show of the year.

After successfully winning the 2004 Royal Rumble, Chris Benoit pulled off the upset in the main event of Wrestlemania XX in Madison Square Garden, to capture the World Heavyweight Championship.

Then in the final scene had that infamous picture perfect moment, with then WWE Undisputed Champion Eddie Guerrero to close out the night as confetti rained from the heavens.

New stars were being built with the likes of John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, and Rey Mysterio. All of whom would capture world championships within the next two years.

But the company had also faced hardships.

Top stars like Goldberg & Brock Lesnar would exit the company. Kurt Angle would suffer another broken neck that left him out of action for the majority of the year which left a hole in the main event scene on Smackdown. Paul Heyman would step away from his onscreen Smackdown GM role which would later be filled by the sidelined Kurt Angle.

Some bizarre decisions were made as Eugene debuted as a controversial character, Paul Bearer got buried in Cement by the Undertaker, and perhaps the most bizarre thing of them all. BRADSHAW BECAME WWE CHAMPION! Yes ½ of the APA Bradshaw now dubbed John Bradshaw Layfield aka JBL, won his first and only world title in the WWE.

Needless to say 2004 is a highly regarded year for making new stars and to put it nicely, interesting gimmicks…. However there was a moment in time that would have absolutely changed the entire complexion of the WWE had they stuck to their guns and not back pedaled.

On the March 22nd 2004 episode of Monday Night Raw the WWE universe saw the return of the draft lottery. During which we saw some underwhelming picks with the likes of Renee Dupree, Nidia, Mark Jindrak, and Spike Dudley.

But an interesting turn of events happened at the midpoint of the show. The newly crowned United States Champion, and rising star John Cena came out, cut a rap mocking both GMs, then picked the next draft on behalf of Smackdown. What happened next shocked the world.

Despite the protests by Heyman, Eric Bischoff was insistent that he kept this as the official pick for Smackdown. When Heyman read the name aloud we got one of the biggest picks of the night. Evolution leader and former World Heavyweight Champion Triple H had officially been traded to Smackdown!!!

This sent shockwaves through the entire WWE locker room and WWE universe. The Game was fresh off losing the World Title at Mania and didn’t seem to be in the books for another run with the gold till later in the year. However, an implemented rule put in place by Chairman Vince McMahon, allowed for Trades to happen until Midnight that night after the show aired. During that unaired trade in the real timeline, we saw Booker T and The Dudley Boyz get traded to Smackdown for Triple H to return to Raw…..Of course this completely soured the shocking draft moment and left the fans feeling disappointed that they would not get to see The Game Thursday Nights (the show would be taped Tuesdays and aired Thursdays) over on UPN. It felt like we were back where we started, like a reset button had been pressed.

But what if this reset was never pressed?! By keeping Triple H on Smackdown, a butterfly effect would send ripples across both brands. Raw would be left with a power vacuum at the top of the card, Smackdown would not be forced to create a new top heel to run roughshod on the main event scene, and the next Wrestlemania event would see a much different card.

This story is not about just one man. It’s about the entire complexity of the WWE.

This booking will not be a Pay Per View by Pay Per View style booking but rather week by week.

Before I take the deep dive. I want to make a couple of changes to the Wrestlemania 20 results that I feel benefit the early part of this rebooking.

Firstly, The APA win the WWE Tag Team Championships in the big Four Corners match . (also featuring then champs Rikishi & Scotty Too Hotty, The Bashams, & The Worlds Greatest Tag Team) Bradshaw ends up pinning Rikishi after a Clothesline from Hell to capture the gold for the APA. This victory would allow for the APA break up storyline to last just a little longer and have a more finite conclusion. Reason being for this change is not only to extend the break up storyline, but for the simple fact that Bradshaw would not be needed as a top heel with Triple H remaining on Smackdown. Now I feel his Wallstreet character would still happen. JBL’s personal life was too captivating at the time not to put on screen. It would just happen under different circumstances.

The second change would be Ultimo Dragon capturing the Cruiserweight Championship in the Cruiserweight Open (also featuring then champ Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Nunzio, Shannon Moore, Akio, Billy Kidman, Jamie Noble, Funaki, & Taijiri) by lastly pinning Rey Mysterio. The reason being for this switch is simple. You don't hire a legend like Ultimo Dragon just to have him lose on his first big ppv match. I think giving him a short run with the Cruiserweight title and maybe a few mid card matches would help him stick around a little longer instead of opting to be released by April.

Now with that out of the way, let’s take a deep dive into the multiverse of wrestling, and see a timeline where The Game found a new board to play on!

WEEK ONE: “A New Game To Play”

RAW March 22nd 2004: “The Draft”

John Cena cuts the infamous rap during the midpoint of the night.

“I’m making the next pick. I’m giving you one ball, but you still got no-“

Heyman & Bischoff argue over whether the pick was legitimate or not. Heyman, despite his protests, reads the name aloud.

“TRIPLE H!”

Cue the scene of Triple H spitting his water out and being serenaded away by the Raw Roster.

“Nananana Hey Hey Hey Goodbye!”

Triple H is irate! The Leader of Evolution is now forced to leave his throne on RAW and travel to the uncharted kingdom of Smackdown!

Eric Bischoff is in shambles as he argues with Vince McMahon backstage over this pick being unsanctioned due to Cena’s involvement choosing the name from the tumbler.

Vince McMahon reminds Bischoff that he was the one to encourage Heyman to read the name. Vince says that all picks are final but if he wishes to try and negotiate with Heyman he has till midnight to do so.

Heyman decides to add insult to injury in the moment by making the suggested main event of RAW Eddie Guerrero vs Triple H for the WWE Undisputed Championship. Vince agrees wholeheartedly and the match is set.

WWE Championship

Eddie Guerrero (c) vs Triple H end in a no contest

We get the same result as real life. Raw goes off with both brands having a huge pull apart brawl. Triple H and Eddie even continue to fight in the ring while the commotion happens on the outside.

The final shot before the show goes off the air, is Triple H coming face to face with Randy Orton, Batista, & Ric Flair…. No words exchanged. Just expressions. Before anything can be said they all get ambushed by the rest of the field and the chaos continues to ensue!

Smackdown March 25th 2004: “First Act”

Kurt Angle makes his way out to the ring (not the cheap Triple H music hitting and Angle walking out in his place. Just Angle’s theme.)

Kurt isn’t dressed to compete however…he’s laced in a tan suit. The type of suit a principal of a school would wear to tell everyone that they’re in charge and ready to give you a detention if necessary.

Kurt enters the ring with a smug look sitting on his face. He picks up the microphone soaking in the “you suck” chants from the faithful. Kurt takes a moment before raising the microphone and beginning to speak.

He addresses Paul Heyman’s untimely departure from Smackdown and how it’s left a hole. A void that needs to be filled. So Kurt has been given the distinct honor to introduce the new Smackdown General Manager……Kurt…..Angle!!

Angle says he’s ready to put his aspirations and career to the side for the greater good. He’s proud to be the general manager of a brand he helped build and will help lead it into the future. He says that he’s got some ideas to make Smackdown the number 1 brand. Angle states…

“My first act as General Manager is to crown a new number one contender for the WWE Championship at the next Smackdown Exclusive Pay Per View.. Judgement Day! So withou-“

Suddenly Kurt is cut off by Triple H’s music and for Smackdown…it’s time to play the game!

Triple H steps out onto the stage in his Evolutionesque suit….the former Heavyweight Champion is wearing a face of reluctance as he makes his way down to the ring.

Triple H steps between the ropes, then glares Kurt down, clearly pissed off that he’s here on Smackdown.

Triple H speaks and says that he’s disappointed to be here on Smackdown. He’s upset that because of Paul Heyman's actions and quitting there was no one available to make a trade before Midnight after the draft.

This leaves him stuck on the blue brand. He also blames Kurt now that he has a position of power and has not immediately decided to make the trade to send Triple H back to RAW.

Kurt reveals that he did in fact get a chance to negotiate with RAW. He states that Vince McMahon immediately appointed him as the new GM of Smackdown following Paul Heyman’s sudden departure. He says he could have in fact traded Triple H back to RAW. And boy did Eric Bischoff want him back. He offered up unimaginable things to get Triple H back but Kurt stuck to his guns. He knows that Triple H is far too valuable to give up.

He did, however, acquire some other assets to Smackdown that they will see later, but for now Triple H isn’t going anywhere. Kurt says as of Midnight last night the negotiation window closed and won’t be back open for awhile. He suggests that if he [Triple H] wants to make it easier on himself, that he should start making new friends in the locker room, because all of his friends are back on Raw…..

Triple H refutes this statement by saying that he doesn’t need friends. If he’s forced to be here, he will make Smackdown his show, and will start by beating Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Title at Judgement Day…

Kurt cuts him off. He tells Triple H that he hasn’t made anything official yet for the Pay Per View, so if he wants a rematch with Eddie, he’s going to have to earn it.

The segment ends with Kurt announcing that a blockbuster title match will happen tonight. Only it’s not Triple H vs Eddie Guerrero.. it will be Eddie Guerrero defending his WWE Title against Smackdown’s newest member Rob. Van. Dam!

Triple H is furious. He feels should be next in line after his match with Eddie ended in a no contest.

Kurt exits the ring leaving Triple H alone…..

Backstage we see Rey Mysterio, Rikishi, & Scotty Too Hotty all crowded around Smackdown’s newest member RVD. They’re wishing him luck in his match that night against WWE Champ Eddie Guerrero. Eddie walks into the locker room, shakes RVD’s hand, wishes him luck, and welcomes him to the Blue Brand.

Triple H is seen walking into the Locker Room pissed that he doesn’t even get his own like he had on Raw….when he enters he’s greeted with very distasteful looks. Eddie, being the locker room leader, walks up to Triple H, and tries to talk to him. He says that he’s happy that eventually they get another chance to run their match back that got ruined on Raw.

Triple H doesn’t respond, Eddie tries to turn him around, and he gets shoved back! Triple H gets in Eddie’s face, tells him that there is no competition on this brand, and that it's only a matter of time before he rules the roost.

RVD then gets in his face. He tells him that unlike their time on Raw he doesn’t plan on allowing Triple H to take advantage of anyone. RVD tells Triple H that if he doesn’t want to be here he can go wait in the unemployment line right behind Paul Heyman! Triple H storms out of the Locker room….

Dudley Boyz def. The Bashams

It’s revealed in a WWE.com article that during the trade negotiations, Smackdown received the Dudley Boyz in exchange for Rene Dupree & Charlie Haas.

This trade is made so that the Dudleyz still make it to Smackdown and they’re traded for equal value picks. Charlie Haas & Rene Dupree being sent back to RAW allows the Red Brand to have two premier Tag Teams/Factions in the wake of Evolution's loss of Triple H. In a logical sense I’d imagine Bischoff would have pushback on Kurt wanting the Dudleyz, but hearing that he gets two young prospects in exchange, sees the bigger picture as his Tag Division is slowly dying anyways.

Back in the ring. The Dudley Boyz have a pretty standard affair with the Bashams, putting them away with a 3D and getting the victory!

Bubba gets a microphone and addresses the fans and the tag division. He says that they’ve held a lot of gold in their careers. But they have held the WWE Tag Team Championships. They put the division and the champs on notice and warn them that they’re coming!

After a commercial break we open up on an interview backstage with United States Champion John Cena!!

Cena addresses the controversy of picking Triple H’s name out of the tumbler and sealing his fate here on Smackdown.

Cena states that it was the luck of the draw and that Triple H can’t blame him for the situation. He hopes there’s no hard feelings.

Just then Triple H walks into frame and gets in Cena’s face.

Triple H tells Cena that there are plenty of hard feelings. He doesn’t forget that Cena was the one to pick his name. He warns Cena to watch his back because some receipts may be due.

Cena tells him if he wants some he can come get some!

But before anything can happen, The Big Show walks into frame towering over both men.

Triple H exits, leaving the two.

Big Show wants his rematch for the United States Championship that he never received. He doesn’t want to wait until Judgement Day to invoke it. He wants it next week. The two lock eyes briefly before we cut back to the ring.

Rey Mysterio def. Billy Kidman w/ Paul London

In this match we begin to plant seeds of descent between Kidman & London whose team up by this point had run its course. Plus it helps provide more undercard storylines to unfold on the weekly shows.

In a moment of miscommunication London is distracting the referee so that Kidman can take advantage of Rey. Rey however turns this plan against them and dropkicks Kidman into London who falls off the apron. Kidman is draped on the ropes and Rey dials it up! He hits a 619 and a West Coast Pop for the 3 picking up the win!

Following the match Kidman & London have a brief disagreement before walking off. As Rey celebrates he’s attacked by Chavo Guerrero Jr & Chavo Classic!

Chavo is enacting revenge after Rey pinned him to eliminate him from the Cruiserweight open at Wrestlemania. The beatdown continues until the Cruiserweight Champion Ultimo Dragon makes the save! Ultimo sends both Chavos hightailing. He helps Rey up and the two shake hands.

The ring clears and on commentary they talk about the upcoming Smackdown Exclusive PPV Judgement Day!

They also recap the events of Wrestlemania as we saw the return of Smackdown’s resident Deadman The Undertaker alongside Paul Bearer!

They announce that next week the Undertaker will be back and speak for the first time since his resurgence at Wrestlemania!

The screen begins to glitch and the feed gets cut off by clips and images of a man draped in white. He’s sitting, praying, and surrounded by a sea of candles. The words that close the vignette…

“Mordecai Is Coming”

WWE Tag Team Championships

APA (c) def. Too Cool (Scotty Too Hotty & Rikishi)

This is a rematch from Wrestlemania minus two teams' involvement. The APA solidifies their reign, knocking off the former champs yet again. With Bradshaw hitting the Clothesline From Hell to Scotty for the 3 count!

Following the match the Dudleyz can be seen watching on from backstage.

Spike Dudley comes into frame and expresses his excitement that all three brothers are on Smackdown together! He says he got a Cruiserweight title match next week and hopes D-von & Bubba will be watching and cheering him on. Before they can respond.

RVD walks by and shares a nod to all 3 of his former ECW peers. The camera switches focus to RVD and follows him down the hall as he heads towards the ring!

WWE Championship

RVD def. Eddie Guerrero (c) via DQ

Both men put up an excellent showcase of high flying offense and technical ground work. Both men trade Frog Splash attempts, each missing as the other had it calculated. The match reaches a fever pitch when RVD slips out of the Three Amigos on the last Suplex attempt. Van Dam hits the spinning back kick knocking Eddie down! Van Dam climbs up top and sets up for the Five Star Frog Splash!

“ROB! VAN! DA-“

Triple H suddenly appears and knocks RVD off the top! RVD tumbles to the floor! Triple H beats him senseless then throws RVD into the steps! Triple H grabs a chair and wallops Mr Thursday Night with it! Suddenly Eddie goes on the attack but he’s beaten up from the match and doesn’t have much energy to thwart off the cerebral assassin!

Triple H throws Eddie over the announce table! He sets his sights back on RVD and throws him back in the ring.

Triple H hits the pedigree on RVD on the chair then stands tall as Smackdown goes off the air!

Stay tuned for week two!

Rebooking every WrestleMania every 42 days until WM42 Part 35: WrestleMania 35

WrestleMania 35, the one that was 9 hours long total, was definitely one of the most ambitious shows WWE ever attempted, packed with huge moments like the historic main event where women closed the show for the first time ever, Kofi Kingston’s emotional WWE Championship victory, and Seth Rollins slaying Brock Lesnar to open the night. The event had an incredible atmosphere and several feel-good payoffs that fans had waited months, sometimes years, to see. However, it also suffered from pacing issues due to its extreme length, a few underwhelming match finishes, and storylines that didn’t quite land the way they should have on such a big stage. Even with its highs and lows, WrestleMania 35 remains a memorable show with plenty to talk about. And just like I’ve done before, I’m going to rebook a WrestleMania once again and now it’s WrestleMania 35’s turn. But before we get there, let’s take a look at the events after WrestleMania 34 that shaped the road leading into WrestleMania 35.

After WrestleMania 34, WWE entered a year of major transitions, breakout moments, and emotional storylines that shaped the road to WrestleMania 35 in a very different way. One of the biggest shifts came with the rise of Bobby Lashley, who steadily rebuilt himself as a dominant force with Lio Rush serving as his confident and outspoken manager. Lashley’s momentum carried him into SummerSlam, where he defeated Brock Lesnar to capture the Universal Championship in a major passing of the torch moment. Lesnar disappeared for months afterward but returned in dominant fashion by winning the Royal Rumble match, immediately setting his sights on reclaiming the title from Lashley on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Meanwhile, the Intercontinental Championship scene throughout 2018 was defined by the intense rivalry between Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler, who traded victories and pushed each other to their limits in some of the year’s most consistent matches. However, everything changed when Roman Reigns announced his leukemia diagnosis, creating one of the most emotional moments in WWE history. The fallout led to Dean Ambrose turning heel, revealing lingering resentment toward Rollins that he could never truly let go. Their rivalry escalated into a brutal Three Stages of Hell match at No Way Out, where Ambrose defeated Rollins in a decisive and personal battle. Soon after, The Shield reunited one final time to face the Balor Club at Fastlane, but the reunion proved short-lived as Ambrose betrayed Reigns afterward, setting up a deeply emotional Loser Leaves WWE match between the two former brothers at WrestleMania. At the same time, Becky Lynch completed her transformation into The Man, becoming the most organically popular star in the company. Similar to real life, tensions escalated with Ronda Rousey, but in this version Rousey embraced her heel persona earlier and leaned into her Hollywood arrogance. Charlotte Flair attempted to insert herself into the spotlight as always, only for Becky to defeat her decisively at No Way Out to secure her place. After an intense contract signing at Fastlane, the stage was officially set for history: Rousey vs. Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship in the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event. On SmackDown, Daniel Bryan shocked the world by defeating AJ Styles for the WWE Championship and reinventing himself as the eco-conscious and self-righteous “New” Daniel Bryan. His reign quickly became defined by his belief that fans were complacent and wasteful but his biggest challenge came from the unstoppable wave of KofiMania. Kofi Kingston captured the hearts of fans everywhere, overcoming obstacle after obstacle placed by Vince McMahon, who repeatedly insisted Kofi had spent too long as a midcarder to deserve a main-event opportunity. Refusing to accept that narrative, Kofi forced his way into the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania against Bryan in one of the most emotional builds of the year. Finally, one of the most heartfelt stories heading into WrestleMania centered around Kurt Angle, who announced his retirement tour and spent months facing dream opponents across both brands in a celebration of his legendary career. After revisiting rivalries and testing himself against a new generation, Angle revealed that his final match would come against none other than John Cena, a fitting farewell against one of WWE’s defining icons of the modern era, setting the stage for an emotional final chapter at WrestleMania 35.

So now, let’s take a look at the new and improved WrestleMania 35! Might still be pretty long

WrestleMania 35:

Location: Metlife Stadium. East Rutherford, New Jersey

Host: Alexa Bliss

Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Renee Young (Raw). Tom Phillips, JBL and Byron Saxton (SmackDown)

Ring Announcers: Mike Rome (Raw). Greg Hamilton (SmackDown)

Backstage Interviewer: Kayla Braxton

Theme Song: Love runs Out by One Republic and Work by Chris Classic

Kickoff:

  1. Charlotte wins the Women’s Battle Royal

  2. Braun Strowman wins the Andre the Giant Battle Royal

Main Show:

  1. Universal Championship: Bobby Lashley (with Lio Rush) def. Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) to win the title

Build: After Lashley defeated Lesnar at SummerSlam to win the Universal Championship, the loss haunted Brock for months as Heyman insisted it was a fluke caused by underestimating Lashley’s power and MMA background. Determined to reclaim his dominance, Lesnar entered and won the Royal Rumble and immediately challenged Lashley. The feud was presented with a UFC-style sports presentation featuring weigh-ins, split-screen interviews, and training footage emphasizing their shared MMA legitimacy. Lashley stayed calm and focused while Lesnar promised to “take back what belongs to the Beast.” The rivalry became less about titles and more about proving who the most dangerous combat athlete in WWE truly was, turning their WrestleMania clash into a collision of unstoppable forces.

  1. United States Championship Triple Threat: Rey Mysterio def. Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn to win the title

Build: Nakamura’s dominant United States Championship reign attracted multiple challengers who believed their moment had finally arrived. Rey and Sami both openly stated they had never held the title and saw this as unfinished business in their careers, while Owens argued he deserved another run after returning from injury hungry and aggressive. What began as a Triple Threat quickly escalated when Owens forced himself into the match by attacking all three competitors on SmackDown. The result was a chaotic four-way rivalry built around pride, legacy, and opportunity, with Nakamura determined to prove his reign wasn’t ending at WrestleMania.

  1. Steel Cage: Andrade def. Randy Orton

Build: Following their violent rivalry months earlier, Andrade returned declaring war on second and third generation wrestling legacies including Orton’s. Andrade targeted members of the Orton, DiBiase, and Rhodes families in symbolic attacks meant to prove that legacy weakens competitors instead of strengthening them. Orton fought back by dismantling Andrade’s allies one by one, promising to end the self proclaimed destroyer of legacies at WrestleMania. With constant interference defining their feud, a Steel Cage Match was announced to guarantee a decisive ending as the Legend Killer attempted to stop Andrade’s crusade once and for all.

  1. SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos def. The Hardy Boyz to retain the titles

Build: When The Hardy Boyz returned to chase one final SmackDown Tag Team Championship run, they targeted The Usos out of respect rather than rivalry, calling them the best modern tag team in WWE. The Usos responded by saying respect wasn’t enough, they wanted to defeat legends to cement their era as the greatest tag team generation ever. The feud became a brother-vs-brother legacy battle built on mutual admiration but rising competitiveness, as both teams aimed to prove which set of brothers truly defined tag team excellence.

  1. Raw Tag Team Championships: Edge and Christian def. The Revival to win the titles

Build: Edge initially aligned himself with The Revival out of mutual respect for classic tag wrestling, but tensions grew when they accused him of living in the past and slowing them down. Their betrayal left Edge outnumbered until Christian returned to stand beside his longtime partner. The Revival mocked their reunion as nostalgia, but Edge and Christian promised to prove that great tag team chemistry never fades. WrestleMania became the stage for a dream match between eras, with legacy pride on the line.

  1. Street Fight: AJ Styles def. Shane McMahon

Build: After Styles confronted corporate interference by striking Vince McMahon, Shane vowed there would be consequences. Their disagreements escalated into a heated debate over who truly built SmackDown Live’s success, Shane as commissioner or Styles as its workhorse cornerstone. The tension turned physical when Shane began abusing his authority to sabotage Styles’ matches, leading to a Street Fight where pride, brand identity, and respect for SmackDown itself were on the line.

  1. Women's Tag Team Championships: Boss N’ Hug Connection def. Trish Stratus and Lita

Build: After reconciling their friendship, Sasha and Bayley captured the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Championships and vowed to honor the division’s history. That promise attracted Trish and Lita, who returned to challenge the champions and test whether the new generation truly deserved to carry the legacy forward. The match became a symbolic passing of the torch showdown between pioneers and successors.

  1. WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (with the New Day) def. Daniel Bryan (with Erick Rowan) to win the title

Build: Kofi’s near victory at No Way Out ignited KofiMania as fans rallied behind his dream of becoming WWE Champion. The emotional momentum became unstoppable, setting the stage for one of WrestleMania’s most powerful underdog championship stories.

  1. Loser Leaves WWE: Roman Reigns def. Dean Ambrose

Asuka welcomed the challenge confidently, believing no one, including Ember, could truly overcome her dominance.

  1. No Holds Barred: Samoa Joe def. Triple H

Build: Following Survivor Series, Joe broke free from Triple H’s control and demanded the WWE Championship rematch he never lost cleanly. Authority interference from Shane and Triple H repeatedly cost him opportunities, culminating in Triple H attacking him inside the Elimination Chamber. The match became a brutal creator vs creation showdown years in the making.

Rollins represented loyalty and unity, while Balor represented independence and evolution. Their Intercontinental Championship rivalry became a clash of philosophies as much as athletic excellence.

  1. The Rock def. Batista

Build: Batista returned claiming his legacy surpassed The Rock’s Hollywood success and WWE influence. Rock responded by reminding Batista that charisma, not intimidation, defines true superstardom. Their war of words escalated weekly until the dream match was confirmed, settling the debate over who truly stood tallest among crossover megastars.

  1. Raw Women's Championship: Becky Lynch def. Ronda Rousey

Cedric Alexander vs Mustafa Ali for the vacant Cruiserweight Championship

Cedric defeats Gran Metalik, TJP, and Roderick Strong while Mustafa defeats Jack Gallagher, Buddy Murphy, and Drew Gulak. The Bar © vs Woken Bray Wyatt & Broken Matt Hardy for the Raw Tag Team Championships

(Sheamus & Cesaro become the benchmark for the Raw tag team division throughout 2017 & early 2018; winning the title several times. Meanwhile, Wyatt is transferred to Raw in November after losing the WWE Championship to AJ Styles. He immediately targets Matt Hardy because he recognizes something "broken" within him. Wyatt defeats Hardy in a match during the Survivor Series preshow which causes Hardy to have an emotional breakdown. The next week, Hardy interrupts a promo from Wyatt and thanks him for "making him see" and announces to the world that he is once again BROKEN! Hardy & Wyatt have several matches over the next few months which culminate in an epic Final Deletion match. It takes place at the Hardy Family Compund & in the ruins of the Wyatt Compound. Hardy wins after throwing Wyatt into the Lake of Reincarnation. Afterwards, Hardy decides to begin his expedition for tag team gold & challenges The Bar. Matt tries to get ahold of "Brother Nero" but Jeff gives Matt a call to say he can't keep enabling his "broken" behavior. Matt seems out of luck until Bray makes his return & shockingly aligns with Matt. Bray says that his exile into the Lake of Reincarnation has awoken something in him that he hasn't felt since Sister Abigail was extinguished into flames. Wyatt thanks Hardy & offers his assistance in the expedition for tag team gold. Wyatt & Hardy end up winning a #1 contendership match on an episode of Raw. Their insane antics end up being the perfect counter for The Bar with Wyatt hitting Sheamus with Sister Abigail for the win & to win the Raw Tag Team titles!)

Bobby Roode © vs Randy Orton for the United States Championship

(Bobby Roode makes his Smackdown debut after Summerslam. He quickly uses his Wall Street resources & connections to secure himself a United States Championship match that he wins. Roode keeps the title throughout the rest of 2017 & early 2018 by hook & by crook. On the Smackdown after Fastlane, Roode crosses paths with Randy Orton. Roode says his projections are leading him to surpass Randy Orton as one of the greatest champions in WWE history. He also mocks Orton because he's never won the US title. Orton says he can arrange for that to change & does so by winning a #1 Contendership match on Smackdown. Orton & Roode proceed to have a methodical match of wits that results in Orton pinning Roode after an RKO to become US Champion for the first time.)

AJ Styles © vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship

(Shinsuke Nakamura makes his Smackdown debut on the Smackdown after Wrestlemania 33. Nakamura goes on the achieve immediate success including a US title run and several wins over top talents; including John Cena at Summerslam. Nakamura affirms his success by winning the 2018 Royal Rumble. The reigning champion, AJ Styles, immediately comes out & confronts Nakamura. Nakamura immediately makes his choice & challenges Styles for Wrestlemania. The next few weeks are spent going over Nakamura & Styles' history in New Japan. They're also granted a match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships at Wrestlemania but lose after Styles walks out on the match. The hostility grows between the two heading into Wrestlemania. This leads to a great 30 minute match between the two. Ultimately, history from Wrestle Kingdom 10 repeats itself when Nakamura pins Styles after two Kinshasas to become the NEW WWE Champion!! Afterwards, both men show respect to each other with a fist bump.)

Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey def. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon

(After Mr. McMahon fires Triple H from being Raw GM on the Raw after Wrestlemania, he appoints Kurt Angle as his replacement. Angle is put under intense scrutiny from Stephanie McMahon during his tenure as GM. She reverses his decisions, chastises him in public, and is even revealed to be behind a smear campaign against Angle accusing him of having an illegitimate son. Angle is about to snap until Triple H makes his return and hits him with a Pedigree. Triple H and Stephanie can't go over Vince's head & fire Angle, but they do decide to make him even more miserable. Right around this time, it's announced on Twitter that Ronda Rousey will be joining WWE & sign her contract at Elimination Chamber. Angle offers to oversee it but Triple H and Stephanie refuse to allow it. However, during the signing, Angle appears to instigate a confrontation that leads to Rousey throwing HHH through a table. Stephanie slaps Rousey but runs away before Rousey can retaliate. Angle is forced to apologize for his actions on the following episode of Raw but Rousey confronts Stephanie for an apology. Stephanie berates Rousey for making demands on a show that she owns and slaps Rousey again. This time, Rousey slams Stephanie and goes for an armbar but Triple H pulls her out of harms' way. This leads into the aforementioned match being made. It's an arguable showstealer that ends when Rousey finally locks Stephanie into the armbar and makes her tap out.)

Charlotte Flair © vs Asuka for the Smackdown Womens’ Championship

(The first ever womens' Royal Rumble occurs at the 2018 event & is won by the undefeated Asuka. Asuka teases going after the Raw Womens' Championship, but makes a surprise appearance at Smackdown's Fastlane event to issue her official challenge to Smackdown Womens' Champion Charlotte Flair. Asuka explains that her decision was made because Flair is the top womens' star in the entire company and wants to prove her ability against the absolute best. Flair acknowledges that Asuka may be the toughest challenge of her entire career but promises that she, like everyone else, will bow to The Queen. As an extra reward, WWE announces that this will be the first ever womens' match to main event a Wrestlemania. Charlotte & Asuka go out & prove that they belong in the main event by putting on an absolute classic. The match ultimately ends when Asuka traps Charlotte in the Asuka Lock & makes her submit. Night One comes to a close as Asuka celebrates her win as new Womens' Champion!)

The Game of Terror [Fan storyline] 2

Part 2 of my WWE story. I hope you like it. Cheers!

RAW – Second Week of May

The show opens normally, greeting the crowd—this time in Chicago.

📖 “THE GAME” hits…

Everyone thinks Triple H is coming out… but when the person reaches the ring, it’s revealed to be CM Punk disguised as Triple H, wearing a toy championship belt.

Once in the ring, he begins to speak:

💬
“Good evening, Chicago… are you ready to play the game… AAAAAAH!”

The crowd goes absolutely crazy for Punk’s promo.

Suddenly, all the arena lights go out. A green spotlight hits the stage… and now the real Triple H appears.

He speaks in an angry tone:

💬
“Don’t get smart with me. We’re in your city, and you’ve got your people behind you… but I will NOT tolerate this kind of disrespect. I am the authority—and you will respect me.”

After several insults and verbal jabs, Triple H continues:

💬
“Since you claim to be the best in the world… and that no one is on your level—and all that nonsense you usually say… tonight, you’ll face Adam Rose and Zack Ryder in a 2-on-1 match. And I’ll be the referee.”

The crowd can’t believe it. They start chanting CM Punk’s name.

It’s time for the match.

CM Punk vs Adam Rose & Zack Ryder (2-on-1 Handicap Match)

The match begins with a tense staredown between Punk and Triple H. That distraction allows Ryder to shove Punk while Rose crouches behind him, sending Punk crashing out of the ring.

Triple H quickly counts to 6, but Punk gets back in just in time.

Punk takes control for a while, hitting a couple of GTS attempts. But when it’s time to count the pinfall… Triple H is conveniently outside the ring, drinking water.

This sparks another heated exchange between the WWE Championship contender and the champion.

The fight continues…

Then, in a moment of distraction—BAM!
Triple H smashes Punk with a steel chair.

Punk is knocked out cold.

Ryder and Rose pick up the victory.

👉 After the match:

Triple H grabs Punk by the head while he’s bleeding on the mat and says:

💬
“I am the king… and this is MY kingdom.”

He drops him and raises the title high in the air… as the crowd rains down boos.

RAW – Third Week of May

The show cuts to the WWE offices.

CM Punk is seen arguing with Vince McMahon:

💬 Punk:
“Do you think what he’s doing is normal? He’s out of his mind! He can’t be the champion and run the matches!”

💬 Vince:
“Punk, I understand your frustration… but maybe this is what WWE needs right now. He made an offer for that part of the company—and I couldn’t refuse it. As you can imagine, I’m concerned too… but there’s nothing I can do.”

Meanwhile, backstage:

Triple H and Seth Rollins cross paths.

They say nothing.

Just a stare.

But in that silence… they say everything.

They both walk away.

Seth Rollins vs William Regal

A transition match without much mystery.

Despite William Regal trying his usual tricks, “The Visionary” Seth Rollins counters everything and wins convincingly.

👉 After the match:

Rollins grabs a microphone and says:

💬
“You created this game… but I’m the one who’s going to break it.See you at No Way Out.”

(Direct message to Triple H)
