It hasn't happened for over a year. Now it has started again last week. Gow do we shut it off this time?

Urgent Safety Information Needed - Messenger chat messages still showing in Facebook
Hi guys,
I’m looking for some clarity on a situation to help someone experiencing some DV and cyberstalking.
They have finally left an abusive relationship but due to real world logistics have to remain in contact and proximity to someone displaying some really weird, erratic and scary behaviour.
They have shared some of these details with me and a few others via Messenger, along with a few safety planning measures (second phone and where some SOS cash is hidden ecetera and a list of services they have/are going to engage with). The conversation was deleted in Messenger by all parties to ensure that the Person Using Violence cannot find it (they’ve gone down the cyber surveillance route).
However I was on the Facebook app before and went to message them, and I was shocked to see the conversation still appears when messages are accessed through Facebook!
Is there anyway it can be deleted?!
