So I'm concerned because over the last few days I have seen multiple people just wandering into traffic. This seems to be a feature of the 285 x Broadway area primarily, but not exclusively. I'm not sure if this is cultural thing, a mental illness thing, a too high to make good decisions thing, or what? But the off shoot is these ass clowns suddenly appearing in a 35 mph zone, mid-block, and seemingly without much by way of self preservation instinct right as a mob of cars is going by. Just right there in the traffic flow trying to merge or something. I don't know. Any way. Maybe the paramedics already know all about this, but every I'm that way I'm paranoid that one of these guys is going to pick my truck to not see.
Somehow it’s Monday again and time for our Question of the Week. This week, tell us: What three words would you use to describe Englewood? Remember to keep it clean or your comment could mysteriously disappear. 🫥

Hello, did anybody attend the traffic meeting yesterday at Charles hay? I heard it was something about ideas for doing something along Dartmouth from University to Broadway, to prevent crashes. Thank you.
Hello, is anyone familiar with the car shop on Broadway and Bates? I was thinking of going there for car maintenance. Is it a good shop? TIA
Edit: Autolab, it’s called Autolab
I live in Englewood and the neighbors behind me have been keeping a colony of cats for years. Unfortunately my house had to be empty for a year and in that time the cats turned my yard into a litter box. The neighbor now says they are not her cats. I called the humane society and they suggested trapping them. I am allergic so am not doing that. Does anyone know of an org that will come trap and take them away?
Happy Friday Englewood! Let’s finish off the workweek with another trip down Memory Lane.
According to Cinematreasures.com, Englewood Theatre opened in 1912, where Breakfast Queen is now, at 3460 S. Broadway. It was remodeled in 1928 to what we see in the photo, and it appears to have been a major improvement. Cinematreasures has some charming information about the theatre. I love silent films so I would’ve been all over this place.

Hey Englewoodonions! We’re beginning a new series called Where in Englewood?!? in which we try to guess where photos were taken in our fair city. It would be really fun if people would post their own photos of unusual or notable features, or a new POV of familiar scenes, in our neighborhoods. We would love for you to join in!
I’ll get things started with a softball question to ease us into it: where in Englewood was this photo taken?
I was looking at the agenda for council study session on Monday. I see that there is going to be a conversation regarding different safety camera manufacturers. I am really torn as to how to think about these. I hear on one hand that it is an intrusion into our every day lives, but on the other hand I hear that they have helped in solving criminal cases.
A million-dollar lawsuit filed by the victims of a massive burglary at an Englewood CubeSmart Self Storage facility makes an argument for believing that the general manager of the premises “has some involvement and culpability in the theft.” Click here for the Englewood Herald story: https://www.littletonindependent.net/englewood/article_a1e5a6bf-606a-42c8-8b3c-8faac1c01ae6.html
The Oxford Pedestrian Bridge — which, to be clear, will carry walkers and bicyclists over Oxford Avenue and not over Santa Fe Drive — is set to open on May 13 with a 4 p.m. ribbon-cutting that is open to the public. The ceremony will be at the north end of the bridge, adjacent to the Oxford/City of Sheridan Light Rail Station. It’s a new week and so a new Question of the Week: What has made your day in Englewood lately? A great meal or cocktail at one of our fine eating/drinking establishments? A city employee being extra helpful? Or a neighbor pitching in when you really needed it? Let us know!
I just moved here and I’m looking for bars that host trivia nights and offer puzzles/board games for patrons. Ideally, the games and play space would be free to use.
It looks like Tabletop Tap fits these criteria, but I’d love to hear about other options as well. I’m also interested in bars located in cities adjacent to Englewood.
Thanks in advance!
Sharing some beauty I saw walking around the neighborhood this afternoon. ✌️

News from our neighbors in Littleton, on an issue that also occurs in Englewood: Jonathan Awbrey, the owner of an unleashed Staffordshire terrier that was running loose in an on-leash park when it killed an aging pug, is headed to trial on four charges. The pug's owners are trying to pay down the bill for their fruitless emergency veterinarian visit after rejecting a liability-dodging deal offered by Awbrey, who responded to a reporter's request for comment with a text saying "Kindly f--- off." I'm in the old Hampden/old town neighborhood (near the retirement home and the new Emerson tower) and the last few days there has been a persistent ringing/high pitched noise. I can't tell where it is from, but I'm assuming it is mechanical on a roof somewhere. It's *constant* and I am wondering if anyone else in the area is hearing it, and if there are any ideas on how to get it to stop? I hate sounding like a cranky old person but it is just driving me nuts!
Englewood is currently in the middle of the process to adopt a new five year Strategic Plan for 2026-2030. This plan is supposed to give city staff direction on what to prioritize and provide accountability through measurable goals. Unfortunately, that's not what we have right now.
The current draft of the plan lacks any prioritization and is mostly just a list of all the activities that the city government is responsible for. If the draft of the plan doesn't change significantly before adoption, the City of Englewood will be committing to a Strategic Plan that lacks any strategy to guide the city over the next five years.
Vibrant Englewood has put our feedback on the plan in the letter linked below. If you agree, you can add your name and a comment for City Council. We will deliver the letter to Council at public comment during Monday's meeting.

Those of you who closely follow regional news are probably aware that Lime and Bird scooters have been replaced by Veo within Denver County. Unfortunately, this also means that Bird has pulled out of the region entirely, including from Englewood.
If you're interested in getting Veo to include Englewood in its service area, as Bird previously did, I encourage you to visit the page below and share your input with your Arapahoe County leaders. If anyone is reading this who represents u/vibrantenglewood or the actual City of Englewood, I encourage you to leverage your connections as well.
