The glamorous lifestyle of flight attendants (?)

I know a AED12K salary is considered good if you’re not paying rent or anything like that, but it still doesn’t make any sense how many FAs online can live that luxurious lifestyle. Cipriani dinners, first class flights, Pilates classes, nice cars, etc. it just doesn’t make sense how someone earning AED12K can afford all of that. Any insider here willing to explain? Lol

Any cabin crew or ex crew can tell us around how many people left during the war, we all know the number was higher than the usual monthly resignations (and that number is normally high for an airline like Emirates)

So how many people left? I assume at least 5k people just counting cabin crew (ground services must be even more since they stay inside the airport that had the most danger compared to the crew in layovers)

I am in another airline but I am deeply unsatisfied with my job and my life. I've heard now it's a good time to apply for emirates and tbh my 6 months cool down has been over for quite some time. The thing is, if I quit my actual company right now, I will have to pay them around 6k euros.

Some people in emirates have told me you can easily make that money (25k aed) in two or three months. But I am very scared, do you think it's a good idea? I think I'm just blinded by the idea that now emirates will hire a lot of people because they will need them once normal operations resume (since a lot of crew quit because of the war). I'm just looking from some insights on someone who might be looking at this in a different way than me, or someone who already works there 😄

How strict is Emirates with height measurement at assessment day?

Hi! question for anyone who attended Emirates assessment day or finished the interviews

so I’m around 159.5 cm barefoot, but with good posture and slightly lifting my head a bit, I can reach 160 cm. Are recruiters very strict about keeping your head completely straight during the measurement, or is slightly lifting your head allowed?

I’m literally right on the limit tho I can easily reach 212 cm but i would appreciate any experiences!

Emirates Group Ground Medical Services Doctor – “Interview Complete” after HireVue, what’s next?

Hi,

I applied for Ground Medical Services Doctor on 24 March and completed the HireVue interview. On 20 April I got the “Interview Complete” email saying no further action needed and that a representative will contact me about next steps. Status shows “HireVue Completed”.

It’s now been 8 weeks since applying and 3+ weeks since the email.

Has anyone gone through this process? Does “Interview Complete” usually mean still in consideration or a soft rejection? How long did it take to hear back for the next stage?

Thanks

FA work culture in EK

I was in an almost empty BKK to DXB flight on a380, there is a female attendant who is from. Arab country probably as her name tag has arabic letter, I was surprised with the treatment of her of another senior male FA, or maybe purser, also from an Arab country. He sarcastically speak to her and comment on what tha female FA was doing. He does this in English so a lot of pax can understand. The hapless lady FA was obviously trying to be composed. I thought being FA is glamorous... Not now

My kid is aspiring to become a pilot, to a point where all of his choices regarding school and his GCSEs are based around joining the Emirates pilot training.

I just want to reassure myself what he really needs for a successful application. And what I can help him with to see it through.

He is 16 and in the middle of his GCSEs.

Thanks everyone!

Edit: he is not Emirati.

Hello everyone, i wanted to ask a question about flight schools in dubai.

For a 17yo, i want to get a PPL license, and based on the research i did i found that airborn aviation and emirates aviation services are the 2 good ones for PPL. But im not sure at all if my research was even correct and good enough, so if anyone has any experience or recommendations, i would appreciate any help

Thank you

Oh and im studying IB so i think i can use a little flexibility option if they provide it. Not sure still tho.

No change of status for > 1 month

I’m very confused about the “interview completed” status in my application, which has been stuck for more than a month. I got it right after my final interview. The status never changed to “under review” or anything like that. It has remained identical ever since. Some people from my final already got their rejections weeks ago and have started their cool-off period before they can reapply. Others were requested to submit extra paperwork. Meanwhile, nothing is happening to my status/application. I received 0 emails and 0 calls. I know that the enrolment process might have been slowed down for now but at this point I can’t help but wonder if my application was forgotten about. I know it’s impossible, since Emirates always provides a final answer and I have never heard of them ghosting candidates unlike other companies but this whole situation just feels so weird… Still hoping to get a GC because I'm extremely passionate about working as a cabin crew for Emirates but this prolonged silence is beyond confusing.
