Vague wordings used by emirates customer support

I have a simple question for customer support - if I book a ticket from Bangalore to Rome on a Flex Plus price, and then cancel it, how much will I get as refund? They are saying there "might" be some non-refundable taxes. What do you mean there might be? Check and tell me if there is or not. And if I ask them how much is the non-refundable taxes, they are saying it "might" be less than 10 USD. Bro, if you're not sure then what's even the point of support. At least give me a sure shot number instead of saying "might be". Based on that I will decide whether I have to book it or not.

10 Hour Layover at Dubai-Dubai Connect

I have a 10 hour layover at Dubai with Eligible for Dubai connect. We are landing at midnight at DXB, next flight is at 10am. Please suggest things we could do during this time to make the most of it?

We have 2.5 year old with us as well. do we have to buy meals from the airport or they will provide meals at the hotel. Are their restaurants open during that time.

Never been to Dubai, any suggestions welcome. Thanks legends!

Hajj flights from US should I go with another airline?

I currently have 5 flights scheduled from Houston to Dubai and then flights from Dubai to Jedda (Flynas) for performing Hajj. I got an email from Emirates recently stating I could cancel my flights for full refund. My flights are about 3 weeks out, should I cancel and go with Turkish? Or is there normal operation now?

Did emirates suspend rewards flights for now?

Has anyone had this issue? I’ve been trying to book a classic rewards flight. I’ve tried one way and a return to multiple destinations in multiple continents and the only flights showing up are flydubai flights. I’ve selected emirates as the airline in the rewards booking but it still shows me this only. I’ve looked at flights from May 2026 until the end of the year.

Is it just me or what’s going on here?

What is the best seat I can get?

So I’m going to fly from Jakarta to Dubai soon, I kind of want to see the ground and a bit of a wing/engine on the left side of the plane. Since I have a connection flight, I’d like to sit as close to the exit as possible. Should I choose 18A or 19A? Some sources say there’s no window in 18A, just the wall. Is that true?

If none of these seats are good, I don’t mind rows 34-36, as long as the wing doesn’t block the view of the ground completely and there is a reclinable seat on 36A, still need to confirm it though. I would really appreciate your advice, thank you!

Title: Middle name missing on ticket — is it okay? Post: Hi everyone, I have a question about my upcoming Emirates flight. My ticket does not include my middle name, but my passport has it. I already visited the Emirates office, and they told me it should not be a problem. I’m still a bit worrie

Premium economy review

Was lucky enough to experience premium economy from DXB-HND and return on the B777, and from DXB-EDI on the A350.

Definitely an upgrade from economy with very good legroom, much more private feeling cabin, and comfy seats.

The A350 definitely takes the win with PE having its own toilets, much newer and more responsive IFE screen, and I would say less engine noise.

The only downside I would say is it is hard to get out your seat if the person in front is reclined, but this is a small price to pay for the extra comfort on a long flight.

All travel with Emirates was extremely smooth even in these difficult times, flights were about 50% full if that.

Happy to answer any questions :)

If you booked Emirates via a third party and need to change for ONE passenger or in general

Just went through this whole situation, so sharing in case it helps someone.

I had a booking through a third party agent (Cleartrip) with multiple passengers under one PNR, and needed to change the date for just one person. The third party initially said they couldn’t do it for a single passenger because it was a combined PNR but eventually agreed but they quoted really high prices, around 40k for one date and 70k INR for another. (400-800 usd)

I then contacted Emirates directly, but they said they can’t modify a single passenger unless the PNR is split.

So I went back to the third party and asked them to split the PNR. Once they did that and gave me a new booking reference for that passenger, I contacted Emirates again. This time, they were able to help properly they showed actual availability and even changed to a morning flight on the same date for free.

Mind you it was an economy saver ticket (could also be free due to the current situation, but these tickets were booked for April in February before the whole gulf situation), still better than paying around 40-70k INR (400-800 usd).

Basically, if you need to change for just one person, don’t agree to high charges immediately. Ask the third party to split the PNR first, then deal directly with Emirates. Even for full booking changes, it’s worth checking with Emirates instead of relying only on third party agents.

Saved a lot of money and hassle doing this, so yeah definitely try this approach.

Plane changed to an A350-900 instead of the A380

Our flight to Dubai (DXB) from Copenhagen was initially supposed to be on an A380 but we saw on the Emirates app that our plane was changed to the A350-900. This honestly surprised me given that it's a relatively new aircraft compared to the Jumbo Jet - I was kind of bummed that it wasn't it but riding on a new aircraft was also quite the experience!

As I expected, the cabins look new and clean, it smelled great, spacious legroom even in standard Economy class and fell in love with their new ICE inflight entertainment system. One thing that stood out is the windows are electro-mechanical - they can be closed or opened by pushing a button! With all of these features, Economy class didn't feel like economy (apart from the seats).

Very thankful to Emirates for the great service and experience on its new fleet!

Does FlexPlus have a better chance at a free upgrade than Flex?

The times I’ve received a free upgrade have been when I’ve booked a last minute ticket and the only options left were Flex Plus for economy seats. So I’m wondering, are these the best tickets to have the best chance at a free upgrade?

I know operational reasons (eg overbooking) are the cause of the upgrade, but are Flex Plus given preference?

Luggage weight

Will Emirates be okay if my luggage is 1-2kg overweight? I have tried my best and I cannot get rid of that extra few kgs but also want to avoid surprise fees and charges at the airport. Please advise
