Advice on Verizon in Japan

I have a Verizon phone that is locked cuz it’s on payments. Wondering what my best option will be for 3 weeks in Japan for my husband and I. I have read lots of things about pocket WiFi and eSIM but it’s all confusing, and I’m worried about the Verizon international monthly thing not being enough.

eSIM for Kosovo

It’s no longer possible to buy a foreign eSIM that works in Kosovo.

I only have 1 day in the country but will need Internet data. Any ideas on how to (easily) get some kind of connection? Any free city-wide WiFi in Pristina?

Advise needed -My new Galaxy A36 5G don't have an eSIM

Hello everybody

I've just purchased my new Samsung Galaxy A36 5G in Asunción, Paraguay from a store named Nissei.

I notice that usually this phone is with eSIM, but when I checked, I see that probably the eSIM is disabled in this region.

I'm consistently traveling in Latam and need this phone to have an option for eSIM.

A question for those who know, is there any way to activate the eSIM?

In this scenario, is there any physical SIM that can connect to an eSIM Network in this region?

Thank you to anyone who helps🙏

iMessage and international E SIM use

So I’ve spent the last two hours looking for anything that was somewhat useful on the topic, and I’m only more confused.

My husband is currently deployed to Europe and we have AT&T for a cell provider at home. We went through the steps with AT&T that included unlocking his phone (iPhone 16 Pro) and suspending his service on the line until he comes home. He was told to use Orange for an E SIM as it was the best option for where he is deployed to, and I’m trying to figure out if he is able to use iMessage to continue texting me. His E SIM is activated and his original SIM is turned off (because fancy technology makes it so we don’t have physical SIM’s anymore), but before he starts texting me like normally would and gets charged for international use (it’s like $12/day), I need to understand if the data coverage for the E SIM through Orange will allow him to send the iMessages without being charged for international use since it’s tied to his phone number from home.

I hope this makes sense. I just woke up and haven’t had my coffee yet, on top of a toddler going through a hellish sleep regression, so ya girl is tired.

I’m gonna attach a photo of his SIM information. The “primary” is his domestic SIM, the Orange-Travel is the international E SIM. The primary one is turned off and the Orange is turned on.

Someone please help me before I have a stroke trying to figure this out. And thanks to anyone who can suggest any help in understanding.

ESIM quick swap

Hoping this Reddit can help me. been a cricket customer for a long time now. last year purchased an unlocked Pixel 10. I wanted to switch from my unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 7. Pixel 10 only uses Esim. Not sure what I did, but was able, through cricket chat, to get a QR esim emailed to me. I made the switch, everything was fine. Decided I wanted to go back to the Samsung. Again, don't recall the steps I took, but had an esim emailed to me. Then went back to the Pixel. Yes, I know this sounds ridiculous lol. Anyway, yesterday decided to go back to the Samsung again. I couldn't not find anyway to get the QR esim emailed to me like in the past. Cricket chat eyas useless. Had to call, wait 22 minutes and finally, through an agent had an esim emailed to me. is this the only way to do this now? I'm concerned because, if my phone happened to break at a time when there are no open stores or live agents, I'd have no phone. Also, the agent told me this process was for my security, which is BS and quick heads up, the charge $10 for an esim in a store. This has me contemplating leaving cricket after like 8 years.

5G in US and Canada

Based on user reviews in this sub-reddit, I have tested eSim for Toronto (Saily) and NYC (aloSIM). Unfortunately none got me to 5G. Can you recommend a better choice? Of course my pixel works flawlessly under 5G.

eSim advice?

Hello, I am traveling to Brazil in a few months and it will be my second visit. the first trip went really well but I was unable to use my phone even though I made arrangements for a local sim card. I was never able to figure out the problem, so i thought this time I might try using an eSim service. I am traveling from USA to brazil for a few weeks, would you be able to give me any advice or suggestions? which service to use or anything to be careful of?

ELI5: Using an eSIM in Europe

I'll be in Europe for several weeks traveling through several countries. I've read a ton of stuff about eSIMs and still don't quite understand how they work or what they do. I understand that my phone can have two active eSIMs and I can purchase an eSIM to use while abroad from providers like Holafly, Airalo, Nomad, etc.

I have an iPhone. Can someone explain what all I can do with the eSIM specifically in regards to iMessage? If the eSIM provides me data for internet use, does this mean I can send and receive iMessages to my phone number associated with my native eSIM? Or is it strictly only for internet browsing, GPS, etc? iMessage can still be used with wifi?

How do you go about installing these, and when do you do it to ensure it's working correctly when you land? Are there any settings to ensure that you aren't using your native eSIM and get charged?

Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (US SM-L505U) working with LTE in Brazil (Vivo eSIM) – QR Code FIX 🔥

Tags:
Galaxy Watch 8, eSIM, LTE, Vivo, Brazil, Samsung, Wearable, Fix, QR Code, SM-L505U

I finally managed to get LTE working on a US version Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (SM-L505U) in Brazil with Vivo — and this might help a lot of people stuck with the same issue.

🚫 The problem

When trying to add a mobile plan through Galaxy Wearable:

>

This happens because:

  • The watch is a US model
  • The app blocks Brazilian carriers before even showing QR scan

✅ The solution (what actually worked)

The key is:
👉 Force QR Code activation using hidden menu (QR Test Mode)

🔧 Step 1 – Request QR Code from your carrier (IMPORTANT)

When asking your carrier (Vivo in my case) for an eSIM QR Code:

👉 You MUST provide:

  • IMEI of the watch
  • EID (eSIM ID)

💡 This is critical because:

  • It forces the carrier to register your device in their system
  • Without this, activation will fail even if QR works

🔥 Step 2 – Enable hidden QR Test Mode

  1. Open Galaxy Wearable
  2. Go to:
    • About Galaxy Wearable
  3. Tap multiple times on the title/version to unlock hidden menu

⚠️ THIS IS THE REAL PATH (important)

Inside the hidden menu:

  1. Tap Module Test
  2. Then tap eSIM Test
  3. Find:
    • QR TestMode: OFF
  4. Change it to:
    • ON

📡 Step 3 – Install eSIM via QR Code

Now go back and:

  1. Open:
    • Mobile Plans
  2. Tap:
    • Add Plan

👉 You should now see the QR scanner

  1. Scan your carrier QR Code

📲 Result

After installation:

  • Plan appears normally
  • Carrier shows correctly (Vivo)
  • eSIM profile loads

⏳ Important notes

  • LTE may NOT work immediately
  • It can take a few hours (or up to a day)
  • Try:
    • rebooting the watch
    • toggling airplane mode

🔒 Extra tip

DO NOT update Galaxy Wearable right away

  • New versions may remove this hidden option

🧠 Why this works

You are bypassing:

  • Region lock (US vs Brazil)
  • Carrier validation inside the app

And forcing:
👉 Standard GSMA eSIM activation via QR

🏁 Conclusion

Even with a US model Galaxy Watch:
👉 LTE can work in Brazil

As long as:

  • Your carrier registers IMEI/EID
  • You force QR activation via hidden menu

Hope this helps — this took a LOT of trial and error 😅
Feel free to ask questions!

Has anyone used multiple esims with different carriers?

I will need to do some testing at multiple locations to see which carrier has the best service. I have read of multiple solutions to this but they all seem a little over the top or complicated. Has anyone had multiple esims with different carriers and then just turn off all esims except a specific carrier?

Thanks for your response!

Galaxy A56 eSIM support

Hi everyone,

I've recently been meaning to buy a Galaxy A56, but while I tried to research the fact, most sources did not give a clear answer (maybe I just don't know how to research) on whether this model supported eSIM or not. If the official retailer doesn't sell the model with eSIM support, are there any other stores that could sell one with said support?
