Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (US SM-L505U) working with LTE in Brazil (Vivo eSIM) – QR Code FIX 🔥

I finally managed to get LTE working on a US version Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (SM-L505U) in Brazil with Vivo — and this might help a lot of people stuck with the same issue.

🚫 The problem

When trying to add a mobile plan through Galaxy Wearable:

>

This happens because:

  • The watch is a US model
  • The app blocks Brazilian carriers before even showing QR scan

✅ The solution (what actually worked)

The key is:
👉 Force QR Code activation using hidden menu (QR Test Mode)

🔧 Step 1 – Request QR Code from your carrier (IMPORTANT)

When asking your carrier (Vivo in my case) for an eSIM QR Code:

👉 You MUST provide:

  • IMEI of the watch
  • EID (eSIM ID)

💡 This is critical because:

  • It forces the carrier to register your device in their system
  • Without this, activation will fail even if QR works

🔥 Step 2 – Enable hidden QR Test Mode

  1. Open Galaxy Wearable
  2. Go to:
    • About Galaxy Wearable
  3. Tap multiple times on the title/version to unlock hidden menu

⚠️ THIS IS THE REAL PATH (important)

Inside the hidden menu:

  1. Tap Module Test
  2. Then tap eSIM Test
  3. Find:
    • QR TestMode: OFF
  4. Change it to:
    • ON

📡 Step 3 – Install eSIM via QR Code

Now go back and:

  1. Open:
    • Mobile Plans
  2. Tap:
    • Add Plan

👉 You should now see the QR scanner

  1. Scan your carrier QR Code

📲 Result

After installation:

  • Plan appears normally
  • Carrier shows correctly (Vivo)
  • eSIM profile loads

⏳ Important notes

  • LTE may NOT work immediately
  • It can take a few hours (or up to a day)
  • Try:
    • rebooting the watch
    • toggling airplane mode

🔒 Extra tip

DO NOT update Galaxy Wearable right away

  • New versions may remove this hidden option

🧠 Why this works

You are bypassing:

  • Region lock (US vs Brazil)
  • Carrier validation inside the app

And forcing:
👉 Standard GSMA eSIM activation via QR

🏁 Conclusion

Even with a US model Galaxy Watch:
👉 LTE can work in Brazil

As long as:

  • Your carrier registers IMEI/EID
  • You force QR activation via hidden menu

Hope this helps — this took a LOT of trial and error 😅
