Dear custies, can we please start being a bit nicer to our broista's?

I have been working at dutch for about 4 months now, and it feels like I am working a fast food job. I have been screamed at by customers for either our wait times being too long during rushes or not understanding our 2-line system. I understand that there are rude customers from just working with the general public, but I literally feel like it's every other customer at my stand. I thought dutch was "supposed" to be so different from either Starbucks, Dunkin, or any sort of drive-thru "fast food"??

My stand has been only open for 5 months, so yes my co-workers & I are still brand new to the company and also, not experts on drink making quite yet! Unfortunately, lots of my co-workers are in college/school still, so our 9-5 morning rushes are severely short staffed. I tell lots of customers in the drive-thru or walk up before they order that since we are short staffed, wait times might be high. However, none of them are understanding or accommodating - it's crazy how entitled people have become! Like it's not MY fault that YOU'RE late to work because YOU decided to stop for coffee!?! If it's that serious, just PLEASE leave your house earlier!? I have been yelled at numerously for high wait times when yet pretty much everything is out of my control and all I can say is, "I'm really sorry." It's really frustrating.

Sorry I just need to vent but if you're still reading this...I understand rushes or wait times can be frustrating anywhere but please, us Broistas are trying our absolute best and moving as fast as we can - especially if we are short staffed at the moment! At the end of the day, I am a human and have a life outside of my job. I go to work to collect money to pay my bills - just like everyone else does. It costs nothing to be kind!

Do you think my Dutch bros location is tired of me asking for soft top parfait style ?🤣😅(Emerald rebel blended soft top parfait style)

This has been my go to order since St Patty’s Day, I usually get some soft top on the top, some in the middle, and some at the bottom (the perfect amount) this is what I got today but didn’t want to say anything 🫪 Never seen this much soft top in a drink, lowkey overwhelming😭😭

I tip every time I go so idk why else they would do me like this besides maybe because this is what I order every time & they are tired of making it ??🤣😭

I failed my flow test

So as the title says I failed my flow test, got a 59 first time, 82 the second time and a 95 on my last. They still took my picture put haven’t posted it, and I was told i’d be having a talk with both of my managers the next time i work. I honestly feel so defeated and my stomach is in knots just thinking about that conversation that’s coming in two days, Does anyone have any possible ideas about what they might talk to me about?

I know all the rhymes, and besides messing up drinks because i’m new i’ve been told i’m doing an awesome job, tests get me nervous on another level so I didn’t doubt i’d most likely fail the first time, but getting to my last attempt was just embarrassing i literally had the biggest stomachache ever while taking it. I know i’m overly nervous and i’ve tired everything to get rid of it but now i just feel like because of this they don’t think i’m competent enough even though i know i can do it. I know this is getting long but i just needed to get this off my chest and get some possible advice from other broista’s thanks for reading

Placed Order at Wrong Location

Yesterday I picked up my little sibling from soccer practice and we wanted dutch so I decided to place a mobile order. I was thinking it would be a quick pickup since the drinks would be ready, but it turns out I had the wrong location selected. The app went with the closest location which wasn’t the one we were headed to, since we were heading home already.

I should’ve noticed but didn’t realize until the broista was trying to find it on their system. Shoutout to them tho bc they realized what happened and said it was fine since they were slow. They scanned my app and made my drinks, does that mean they payed for it or what happened there? i had no funds on my app and they said it was fine when i pulled out my card.

has this happened before to anyone?

Tipping

Why do some Broista's finalize payment and not ask for a tip? I have one at my local shop that always "forgets" to allow me to tip. I am going to have to start bringing cash haha!

“Hmm… my drink “feels” light… I’m sure it my imagination”.

Pop the lid open and- yep… as an ex-Dutch? I get it. Not a big deal.

As a customer who just spent $5+ on a small hot cocomo? Damn, this breaks my heart. If costs haven’t gone up so much, I would care a whole lot less.

It is what it isssss.

i quit today

i’ve only been at dutch for a month. i started in early april. i flowed out about 3 weeks ago and have been working normal 4-6 hour shifts + shop prep almost daily. i finally caught on today and realized that i wasn’t being given any of the pooled cash tips.

this already felt super unfair and isolating to me, as i was usually put on linebusting at least twice every shift. at the end of every lead’s shift though, they’d go back and put cash tips in other broista’s designated pockets. but i didn’t even have a pocket - and no one had even asked me about it besides it being mentioned once when i passed my flow test.

i don’t think this is normal, i actually believe it to be very illegal, but i need some second opinions if i’m just being dramatic or something.

The downfall of Dutch

Bro I dead ass HAD to quit my stand bc they were making it a new rule for summer availability that you had to show proof of a second job / school to get specific days off. I’m not sure about anywhere else but also my stand was sexist ASF!!!!! I could do the same thing as my male employee and get reprimanded while he got let off the hook or whatever he did went unnoticed. Anyways I ended up quitting bc of those reasons along with a lot of other smaller ones but I went by my stand today to say hi to my old co workers and friends and they informed me they are getting stricter on “customer appreciation” drinks for all customers!!. Ok like what?!!! Isn’t that like the whole point of Dutch ?! You go bc you have a bad day and talk to your broista and they give you a free drink .. you go bc you’re a regular and half the time you get a free drink.. like that’s what sets Dutch aside from other coffee chains!!!! One of my old co workers gave me a free drink and got in trouble bc I used to work there. Hello?! I think it’s WRONG that I can’t get a free drink bc I used to work there AS WELL AS customers who really do need that pick me up!. If I didn’t the odds of me getting a free drink would be higher. I don’t know I’m just ranting I think the downfall of Dutch is coming and I’ll be GLAD to see it coming.

What is the point of the app?

It doesn’t matter if I show up at the time it’s supposed to be ready or even 15 minutes later, my drink is never even started when I arrive. I ended up just leaving this morning after a $9 donation to Dutch so I wasn’t late for work. I’m done.

Started Upcharging for lite ice

Went to get my Rebel today the same way I always do! Aftershock rebel, light ice. Because I don’t like when my drinks get watered down. The worker told me that there would be an up charge?

I typically never get upcharged, and when I used to work there I’d never see an extra fee for people who’d request that.

Do we know if they’re actually doing that now? If so I guess it’s time to slow down on my appearances. I’m already spending so much on gas just to get there.

48 oz bros

I’m probably late to the party, but does this taste like what they make at the stand? 👀 I love their blended freeze Golden Eagle and 9-1-1 (why is this not an option 😢)

OG Drink one for Dane is back!

I saw a post from last year about how disappointing the flat rate of $1 million dollars was and as a DB employee I totally agree :(
That’s why I’m STOKED this year we’re going back to $1 from every drink goes to the MDA!!!
Please pull up or spread the word, I would love to see maximum impact this Friday!

THANK you to everyone who shared their voices of disappointment to create change around us getting back to our roots of giving back- please keep holding DB accountable in this space🤘
