Dear custies, can we please start being a bit nicer to our broista's?

I have been working at dutch for about 4 months now, and it feels like I am working a fast food job. I have been screamed at by customers for either our wait times being too long during rushes or not understanding our 2-line system. I understand that there are rude customers from just working with the general public, but I literally feel like it's every other customer at my stand. I thought dutch was "supposed" to be so different from either Starbucks, Dunkin, or any sort of drive-thru "fast food"??

My stand has been only open for 5 months, so yes my co-workers & I are still brand new to the company and also, not experts on drink making quite yet! Unfortunately, lots of my co-workers are in college/school still, so our 9-5 morning rushes are severely short staffed. I tell lots of customers in the drive-thru or walk up before they order that since we are short staffed, wait times might be high. However, none of them are understanding or accommodating - it's crazy how entitled people have become! Like it's not MY fault that YOU'RE late to work because YOU decided to stop for coffee!?! If it's that serious, just PLEASE leave your house earlier!? I have been yelled at numerously for high wait times when yet pretty much everything is out of my control and all I can say is, "I'm really sorry." It's really frustrating.

Sorry I just need to vent but if you're still reading this...I understand rushes or wait times can be frustrating anywhere but please, us Broistas are trying our absolute best and moving as fast as we can - especially if we are short staffed at the moment! At the end of the day, I am a human and have a life outside of my job. I go to work to collect money to pay my bills - just like everyone else does. It costs nothing to be kind!
