$40. How?!

$40. How?!

Is it just me or have prices been kinda nuts lately? These 5 items cost me $40 today including two items on clearance. I suppose it’s still better than buying one item at Sephora for the same price.

I own 12 completion production and NONE OF them match me

Help pls I beg. I used to think I was a light skinetone, pink cool undertone, but after some playing around, I realiz ed that I'm definitely not. I might be neutral or warm. I might be olive, but i'm medium skin tone. .

I'm a student and I genuinely cannot afford $40 serums. My entire monthly skincare budget is maybe $30-40 total. But every time I see routines posted here they're full of $50+ products from Drunk Elephant or Paula's Choice or whatever. I've been using mostly CeraVe and The Ordinary because they're affordable but I don't know if what I picked is actually the right stuff for my skin or if I just grabbed what was cheap and popular. Like did I pick the right The Ordinary serums for MY concerns or did I just buy what everyone else on reddit uses? How do you build a routine on a budget that's actually personalized to your skin instead of just whatever's cheapest?

Only prepped by spraying my face with Mario Badescu rose water and aloe spray because I'm lazy. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wet and Wild niacinamide skin tint in soft ivory applied with a makeup sponge I moistened with Milani Make It Last original. The skin tint is my newest HG.

Nyx Bare With Me concealer serum in fair. Also a HG.

Sheglam Color Bloom liquid blush in pink slip applied with a makeup sponge I moistened with Milani Make It Last original

Sheglam Sun Sculpt cool toned liquid contour in soft tan applied with a makeup sponge I moistened with Milani Make It Last original. Only contour I've found that isn't too warm for me. Looks like natural shadows.

1 coat of Essence Lash Without Limits in black tubing. Also a HG.

Nyx Buttermelt powder blush in for the butta as eyeshadow

I can't remember the highlighter I put in the corners of my eyes. I don't think it's drugstore though.

Lip gloss is Aryx pH lip gloss in Aurora. It stains pretty nicely. I got it from TikTok, but they have a website with a small selection.

Morphe Bake and Set Brightening Powder in brightening pink LIGHTLY applied under my eyes with a makeup sponge I moistened with Milani Make It Last original. Using a moistened sponge for powder has eliminated the issue of it making my undereyes look dry and shit.

I set my face with, you guessed it, Milani Make It Last original.

Stubborn Asian straight lashes here, ISO a waterproof mascara that will actually hold a curl!

What I’ve tried:

Maybelline Colossal - my HG since high school, but can only use it as a base coat. Formula is too thin to build up, and looks very natural.

Maybelline Falsies - not very good at holding curl, but creates a nice fluffy effect. I use it on top of the Colossal, but flakes like crazy.

Maybelline Rocket - holds curl, but serves nothing 😭

Clio Kill Lash - lashes fall flat within an hour.

i’ve seen so many suggestions but mostly ppl are telling me to buy the glitter from the euphoria launch or to build it up from scratch like makeup artist,, isn’t there an easier way ? like a cheap glitter shimmery palette full of color ?

Unpopular Opinion

I can’t be the only one who just does not like the infamous NYX brow glue, right?! I’ve also tried the Essence make me brow and ELF wow brow, neither of which I’m ecstatic about but they are miles better than this NYX option. Please give me your best brow recs!

I loved the elf Shape and Stay wax pencil but unfortunately I recently learned that it’s discontinued. Does anyone have any recommendations for a great eyebrow wax product.

I have curly eyebrow hairs and I want something that’s at least under $10. I was thinking about the elf Brow Lift but I’m worried about it flaking or not working for my brows?

First pic is mine, rest are other palettes from other people.
I first bought it from Priceline in Australia and got a refund for this reason and now I bought it from ASOS online and it’s the exact same issue. You can clearly see the last fuchsia shade look vibrant but mine is very dull, i tried to fix it by mixing it with white but it doesn’t lift it.. I honeslty might wait until it’s being resold somewhere and get it secondhand to know it’s gonna have that vibrant colour payoff. And no i can’t return it from ASOS unless it’s ‘faulty’.

Hi all - I’m looking for an SPF lip balm/treatment that:

a) has a thicker/more lip gloss like texture rather than a thin, more ‘greasy’ texture. For example I found the sun bum ones to feel super greasy

B) doesn’t taste awful

Bonus points if no lanolin and/or contains vitamin e!

These are both meant to be the shade Cheeky. Is either the correct shade? Would you still use them?

Title says it all pretty much… but interested in people’s current favorite easy to use, brightening under-eye concealers for minimizing creasing or aging? I’ve just started noticing lines under my eyes, that become especially noticeable with makeup/concealer under my eyes but i love a really bright he under eye, so i think it’s time for me to find some new products to try.

I want it to be easy to apply/use and good for dry skin. Recommendations and reviews of all prices ranges are encouraged, as well as any application and other tips/info!

Thanks!

Turned 34 and i’m done chasing perfect drugstore coverage and anti-aging miracles, my skin struggles, the powder fail

I hit 34 recently and my skin decided to revolt. The old hormonal breakouts are still around, but now I’m also dealing with fine lines, dullness, lingering hyperpigmentation, and that annoying combo-dehydrated texture, oily T-zone by noon, flaky cheeks by evening.

Classic 30s girl problems: looking tired no matter how much sleep you get.

For years I depended on drugstore foundations and setting powders for perfect coverage. Most either oxidized, clung to dry patches, or emphasized texture. One bad powder day at work left my face looking cracked and cakey under office lights. I’m officially done with heavy Western drugstore powders on maturing skin.

I’ve been focusing more on fixing my skin barrier. After trying way too many harsh actives before, I added a gentle anti-aging niacinamide serum (the one with ceramides) into my routine morning and night.

Two months in, my skin feels calmer and more hydrated, pores look smaller, some dark spots have faded, and my makeup sits way better. No breakouts, no pilling, and it plays nice with moisturizer and SPF. The lines haven’t disappeared, but my skin looks plumper and more even, which is honestly the best filter you can have.

Still love drugstore for eyes, brows, and lips, but I’ve switched to lighter base products.

Anyone else in their 30s over heavy powders and foundations?

What’s been working for your texture, redness, or early aging lately?
