Almost skidded because of white suv

SMG5576G, can you guys weigh in on this? I am a motorbike so when I jammed on the brake I fishtailed (skill issue + wet) because of this asshole driver who almost swiped off another motorbike. Does this idiot deserve to penalised or am i overreacting? It looked alot worse irl than the video shows.

SPE1803C failed to stop at stop line and hit blue BYD

I guess most people might have seen this incident from the POV of SPE1803C, some claimed that the blue BYD crossed the double lines but this video shows otherwise. Hope the blue BYD owner can settle this now, i read that he had issues with the workshop or the driver that hit him

Driver of SPE1803C, who caused an accident, left victim trapped in his own car instead of rescuing him out

I read through the victim's posts and apparently the moronic driver of SPE1803C didn't even bother to check on the victim, and instead left him trapped in his car for about 15-20 minutes.

At least have some decency to help out someone in an accident, right? Things could have gone worse.

Would you honk at an uncle/aunty walking across road, using phone, and glaring at you as if the road belongs to them?

Saw a 50+ uncle doing that

No traffic light. Multiple cars stopped for him

He just glared at us as if we were the ones annoying him

No one honked. I suspect if someone had did so, he would have stood in front of the car and dared us to run him down

Dangerous PHV Driver on the road

Today, at the car park, a PHV driver decided to behave in a way that was honestly quite disgraceful and dangerous.

My 4 year old son and I were at the sheltered pick up drop off area. As taught, he stopped first, looked out for cars, and we noticed a vehicle turning in. Naturally, we waited, assuming the driver would either park properly or signal for us to cross after.

Instead, the driver drove the car directly towards my child, inch by inch, braking repeatedly right in front of him. I had to immediately pull my son aside in case this person miscalculated and actually hit him.

And after all that, he still had the cheek to flash the middle finger.

Let me be very clear. This was not confusion. This was not poor driving. This was a grown adult using a vehicle to intimidate a small child and parent in a residential car park.

The fact that this was a PHV driver makes it even worse. If you are entrusted to transport members of the public, surely basic judgement, patience and decency should come as standard.

We live in a society where children are taught to stop, look, and be careful. What exactly are we teaching them when adults behind the wheel behave like this?

To this driver: if your ego is so fragile that you need to challenge a 4 year old at a crossing, perhaps you should reconsider whether driving for a living is really for you. less

1st Edition: For better context, the photo was taken after I moved away. The driver’s door ended up exactly where I had been standing. He forced us out of that spot and parked there. I had already moved my son up onto the curb on the other side of the road for safety. His egregious behaviour made me turn back and take a photo of him and the car. This was not just a discourteous driver.

Are we ever going to get a properly integrated payment system?

Till this date we still have to rely on lousy cash cards or nets flash pay where either we have auto top ups or pay 50c.

In Malaysia, it’s extremely integrated into the touch and go app and they don’t even charge so much for parking.

Isn’t govtech very ahead of times with these?

Passing your driving test in Singapore doesn't mean you should be driving.

If you walk into door frames, misjudge escalators, and bump into people at MRT gantries. why are you suddenly a precision machine inside a car?

You check your mirror and still can't tell whether a car is 2 seconds away or 10 seconds away, you're not "being cautious", you're guessing.

Every brake is last-minute and every lane change is vibes-based, you're not driving, you're reacting.

You can't read what other drivers are about to do, you're the wildcard everyone else is avoiding.

Our system says you're road-ready because you didn't mount a kerb for 20 minutes under test conditions.

And before people get defensive, I actually know someone who passed their test and said, straight up: "I'm only going to drive in an emergency. I genuinely think I might be a hazard to other people."

That's more self-awareness than half the drivers on the road.

Driving isn't just about following rules. It's spatial awareness, timing, anticipation, coordination. And not everyone has that.

If this were something like chopping vegetables and your lack of coordination meant you'd lose a finger, you'd think twice. But because you're in metal box, suddenly it's okay to outsource the risk to everyone else.

That's why you still see people on their phones at traffic lights, drifting between lanes, or hesitating like they're solving a PSLE math question before turning.

If the requirement was "be a good driver instead of "don't mess up for 20 minutes, how many would still have a license?

Car colour discussion

Just a light hearted topic that has been on my mind lately feel free to indulge me or ignore :) Was curious how sgreans think about car colours. Off the top of my head - black is hard to maintain, white / light colours fare better in hot weather, red gives the impression of aggressive driving.

What colour car are yall driving and do you just choose the default / cheapest colour? Or top up for premium colours / wrap at 3rd party?

Additional side question for those who are familiar with car wrapping - is it one of those things where most workshops have the same colours? A few times I’ve seen cars in real nice colours and wanted to look into something similar, but not sure which workshops would have those colours (or can just go to any workshop and ask for it)

What shoes do you wear for driving?

Just started my driving journey and realized my ON shoes are too thick for me to feel the exact amount of pressure to put on my brakes. And unfortunately they don't allow us to wear slippers or be barefoot. What shoes are y'all wearing?

Any witnesses/dashcam Footage Anyone may have captured of my accident?

Hi all, I am a 29M driver who has driven for 10 years, this is my second accident. I am seeking help, as a last resort because I've been blamed to be at fault for an accident that I did not at all cause. I feel so helpless by the system. My dashcam SD Card slot was faulty and i did not know that while driving and it did not record my accident at the time of impact.

This took place April 12th 4:30PM along Dunearn Road (towards Newton Flyover). I was driving a blue BYD atto 3 along lane 1 at 70km/hr, closest to the canal. Another grey BYD Seal driver, was u-turning did not stop at the stop line to give way to me and impacted my driver side and passenger door ripping my passenger door almost half off, while his car had only slight bumper and a cracked headlight. I suffered injuries from this accident also due to airbag deployment, but not severe.

This video footage is from the other driver who hit me. I know it looks like I crossed the double white line, but I never did. I was always in Lane 1 since before SCGS. The frame where my car fully comes into the video is slightly after he has impacted my right rear side, pushing my rear forward, turning the direction of my car drifting to the right, making it seem like i crossed the double white line and lane changed to hit him. That is not at all true.

My workshop claims that i am disadvantaged as I have no footage and it looks like I lane-changed into him instead. But I can't believe they would find me more at fault for that then someone who doesn't stop at a stop line??

If you passed by and saw the accident/somehow managed to be one of the few vehicles who captured dashcam footage of the incident. Please let me know. My total estimate is 40K repair bill, estimate only, both doors, airbags and sensors all have to be replaced. And in my 10 years of driving, I've only had 1 other accident that was also not my fault (i know all you have to trust is hearsay, but i never had demerit points or speeding fines before).

Every time i talk to my insurance or workshop i get so stressed from the physcial trauma, and now for the emotional trauma of being held accountable for something i didn't do. The driver also never once asked "am i okay, after the accident", "i'm sorry (that i don't expect but still..), and he left me trapped in my vehicle for 10+ mins while he was busy calling other people and taking videos of his own vehicle quite far behind mine.

Insurance is still pending liability, but Personal injury claim has been denied.

TLDR: Got into an accident, if you passed by Dunearn Road, near Swiss Cottage Estate on April 12th at around 4:30PM and saw an accident please let me know, as I'm currently being blamed by the driver and the system for it being my fault when it wasn't at all.

Edit: Realized I can't upload the video here. Just have to do without it IG.

Anyone feel there are more Malaysian motorbikes than Singaporean ones now?

Is there an increase in Malaysian motorbikes? Been seeing a lot of them, most of them ride dangerously and constantly overtake vehicles.

What happens if there is an accident involving a Malaysian motorcycle? Can a claim still be made as a Singaporean?
