Hi! I’m looking for a short Drarry oneshot I read on AO3 or fanfiction.net.

Summary:
A post-breakup Harry reflects on how a misunderstanding about soulmates—him believing love should be a choice, not something predetermined—led Draco to think he was being rejected.

Quick identifiers:

What I remember:

• Post-Hogwarts, redeemed Draco

Both Harry and Ron are sort of players, hooking up with different people frequently. Hermione and Ron are broken up and Ron is possibly trying to get over her by sleeping around. Harry starts sleeping with Draco who's in love with him and was possibly a virgin. Draco wants more but he's happy that if nothing else he gets to have sex with Harry and Harry loves having sex with Draco but just that. Later on Draco can't do it anymore and decides to stop hooking up with Harry but Harry doesn't like it. Ron also calls Draco a death eater or something like that.

I’m looking for, (preferably Hogwarts-era) Drarry with bottom!Harry vibes, meaning it doesn’t necessarily have to be explicit, but even then I definitely want DMHP vibes. For explicit recs, I’d like only bottom!Harry, no switching.

I prefer long, plotty recs rather than just 8th year smut recs.

Can be any plot premise! Canon Universe, the Malfoys/the Blacks/others raise Harry AU, mpreg, timetravel AU, resorting AU, any other type of AU… is fine, as long as it’s Harry-centric with bottom Harry and/or DMHP/bottom-leaning Harry dynamics. Can be redeemed Draco, dark Draco, good Draco… etc.

Everyone’s free to read what they love, and there are many lovely, well written HP/DM fics with great plot premises, but I just really would like DM/HP recs please :). I’m feeling nostalgic and missing the old-school LJ/ffnet tropes with clear dynamics.

What I explicitly DONT WANT:

I DONT want bratty, whiny Draco with bottom vibes. I also dont want fics (if they are post-Hogwarts) that paint Draco purely as a victim who did no wrong during the war, or any fics with dumbed down “brute, oaf Harry” who’s only vocabulary is “err..”, which is somehow the majority of recent fics I’ve been finding 😭

Also: NO AUROR HARRY FICS IF POSSIBLE, I have read too many Healer!Draco or Unspeakable!Draco/Auror!Harry fics recently.

Currently I’m reading Elysiums Sanctuary by Isalise, which is LOVELY, I love it. It features a (somewhat) sane Voldemort who (kind of) adopts a (at first reluctant) Harry and assigns Draco as his bodyguard during school.

I liked the first installment of Evitate, but the sequel feels less Harry-centric and more like HPDM vibes, which I didn’t like, but anything similar to the first installment is also welcome!

I do hope for well-written recs (without trying to offend anyone - it’s just I’ve been reading for so long, I’m in the mood for well written, plotty recs rn rather than the cliched “creature harry who’s a phoenix, dragon mix with x mates”… (although those are good when ones in the mood for them)).

I was just going through my subscriptions in Ao3 and remembered "Hide your fires". Last year I was enjoying this fic so much but since almost 10 months ago the author is MIA and hasn't idk commented on other works or anything. Just wanted to ask if someone knows anything, if they said they are taking a break or something but are otherwise doing okey, since i'm not on Tumblr or any other social media.
