Do You Think The After Image Technique Is Underrated?

It's one of those few techniques that doesn't get talked about much; however, it's helped a lot in the Dragon Ball franchise.

To avoid the "Shonen Power Creep Curse" (Naruto, Bleach, etc.), the next step for Dragon Ball after End of Z shouldn't be bigger multiversal threats. It needs to be about technique

When you look at where top-tier Shonen inevitably end up, power creep ruins the tension. Everyone eventually hits reality-warping levels, and we lose what made Toriyama’s original vision so magical: tactical martial arts, weird techniques, and physical storytelling.

If/when they finally continue past End of Z, how incredible would it be to use the next generation to 'reset' the stakes? Instead of Goku and Vegeta breaking into new dimensional power levels, what if the focus shifts to Uub, Goten, and Trunks?

Uub: Has raw magical/god-ki, but has to learn total spiritual discipline.

Trunks: Tactical, combining martial arts with Capsule Corp tech strategy.

Goten: Limitless potential but doesn't want to just be "Goku 2.0."

They aren't trying to become Gods of Destruction; they're bringing the scale back down to actual martial arts philosophy and protecting Earth on their own terms. Does anyone else miss the era of tactical fights like early Dragon Ball and Z, and do you think this trio could deliver it?

Goku didn't absorb the god power

I'm tired of all that anime "absorbing god ki into the base form" nonsense.

First of all, character statements can literally be wrong, like, we were told that the ginyu force dude is the fastest being in the universe.

But second of all, I don't believe the statement is wrong per see. instead, I think it should be understood differently. to explain my understanding of this topic I'll first mention something. No character ever enters the pink haired SSG form in the anime post BoG. Why? This form was simply them using god ki in base, and SSB is them using SSJ on top of SSG, so it makes sense for them to be able to access SSG before SSB in the anime.

The answer is they do access it, but simply without the pink-haired form, as in the anime this form only symbolised that the divine qi was channeled through goku's body forcefully.

When they're fighting using god ki in the anime, it's no different visually from simply staying in base, but they have to manually tap into it.

So the power levels go as follows:

Base goku = ~billions

SSJ 1-4 goku = 50 to 400x base (up to a trillion or smth)

God ki base goku = ~quadrillions

God ki SSJ 1-4 goku = ~quadrillions, as only the base power level gets multiplied.

SSB = 50x god ki base (hundreds of quadrillions, but at the moment when they unlock it their base has already increased to like tens of billions so it turns into quintillions, just enough to match 10 quintillion golden frieza)

It's perfectly consistent and it explains why tournament of power cannon fodder made saiyans tap into super saiyan almost immediately, their power lvl was in the trillions. Not even remotely enough to rival gods, but surely enough to overpower base goku WITHOUT god ki.

Was the super saiyan form making you more muscular a sign that the form isn’t controlled.

we saw originally that Goku going super saiyan and others got a muscular increase. especially Goku in the frieza saga, him transforming against 19 increased his muscle size a bit.

but in the cell saga after he mastered the form, we don’t see this anymore. his super saiyan form maintains the muscle his base form has.

but we see it again with ssj2, Gohan gains some size transforming into it. also Goku is shredded as a ssj3.

with dragon ball super the universe 6 saiyans don’t seem to change build with super saiyan 1 but at that point I just chalk it up to art style differences or maybe they already have mastered ssj automatically who knows.

Do the Z fighters care about their fits?

like they always dripping, the most fitted and stylized shit. always got it on, do you think they do this intentionally or is it "by chance" (the artists, etc.)

like does Goku know he looks bad as hell with the top off? is that why he rips it off all the time. and their casual fits they don't wear anymore. bussin. did they pick those out or did they just have them cause their wives or something?
