JD Flannel Donuts, SoCal

finally made it down to jd flannel, and it surpassed my high expectations. for the month of april, they’re doing a bananas foster fritter that might be among the best donuts man has ever made. everything there was excellent, but that donut in particular was unbelievable. located in san juan capistrano (which is such a vibeeeeee). super easy day trip from la via the metrolink.

Chinese Donuts: my grandma used to always call these fried bread, but they're more like deep fried donuts.

Donuts filled with Arequipe and coated in chocolate

They're absolutely delicious. Who wouldn't love to try their sweet, fluffy flavor? These particular donuts are filled with Arequipe and coated in dark chocolate.

Terrible Experience with Clyde's Donuts

Hello all, I want to share my experience with Clyde's Donuts.

Chemical Putty

Chemical Putty

I bought old-fashioned donut holes and found plumber's putty stuck to them. I touched the putty, and it smeared on my finger; it smelled like chemicals. I had purchased Clyde's donuts in the past and was disappointed every time, because the quality control in this company seems to be sorely lacking.

In the past, I bought their glazed donuts, only to bite into raw, uncooked dough. I've purchased their chocolate donut holes, and they tasted like blueberry flavoring. And now with this food contamination incident I'm really not happy, so I reached out to the company to ask for a refund on 3/18/26. Since then all I've received has been a half-hearted attempt at rectifying this situation and reimbursing me for the cost.

Over a month later and I'm still not reimbursed, and some joker from the company wants to tell me that "the matter is closed." Does this sound like a company you would want to deal with, especially after they poison your food?
