Charge extra

I have spoke with the staff at dollarama that the tag says$2.75 and not $3, they are insisting that it’s $3? Can the management team correct these as the price is not matching on what I see, I mean I don’t mind paying the extra 25cents, but would appreciate that it reflect the correct pricing..

Employment rehires

Has anyone ever left Dollarama employment? After a while of time, you decided to go back? Maybe you moved across the country? Maybe you changed jobs? IDK For whatever reason, you wanted to go back to Dollarama.

Did you go back? Could you go back?

Shampoo selection and other hair care products

Is it just me, or is Dollarama's shampoo, conditioner and hair gel selection much more limited than one would expect? They have such massive variety in so many other items but hardly any in hair care for some reason. Or maybe I'm just going to the wrong stores. Bloor/Glendonwynne is my current go-to.

Does anybody else

Have a love/hate relationship with these? I find they're either PERFECT and crispy, or they seem a little more dense and almost...stale? Just not as light and crispy.

Cheetos Crunchy made me nauseous

I've tried two bags of these this year, one in March and one a week ago. Both times made me nauseous for hours. I've tried separating the timing of consuming other foods while eating this to isolate the source. It's definitely the Cheetos. I haven't had that happen before in the dozens of previous times eating this. Did the formula change?

Three of my cats wouldn’t let me put a hat on them. These two, however…

Had to shop nearby anyway, so picked up a couple of hats, along with some Biskwi quasi-Jaffa cakes and Bourbon Creams. If only they brought back that wasabi peanut mix…

Need advice from store managers.

I work in a dollarama as a part time employee while still in high school. I have worked at my location for about a year and a quarter now. For the last 7 months i have had saturdays marked off in my availibility sheet they had me fill out in september. This week i was scheduled on the saturday so i left a note for my store manager just reminding her i could not work on saturdays as i have other work. She then texted me telling me she expected me to be there or find someone else to take my shift the friday before. I told her i was not availible as i wrote on my availibilty sheet. And would not be showing up that morning. She then texted me and told me she expected a new filled out availibility by sunday with both weekend days open. Is she allowed to decide what days im availible as a part time high school employee.

( i told her it was for hockey because she kept bothering me about why i was not availible saturdays but have since planned all my activitys on saturdays)

Dollarama Incident Management/Legal Affairs rep offered me a $10 Giftcard for finding what appeared to be a worm and maggot eggs / mould in my pistachios. [toronto]

Reposted because I accidentally deleted my original post.

I purchased a bag of wonderful brand pistachios from Dollarama in Toronto. After eating 3/4s of the bag I discovered that a pistachio I was about to put in my mouth had what looked like a brown maggot inside, a dozen maggot eggs and what looks like mould. (I have retained both photo video evidence and the actual product). Needless to say what appeared to be contamination in their food product was extremely concerning and I felt ill afterwards, so I vomited up everything I had just eaten. I was also extremely concerned because upon googling pistachios I saw reports online about a prior recent recall related to pistachios and salmonella in Canada, which added to my concern.

I contacted Dollarama and Health Canada. Dollarama contacted Wonderful pistachios - who offered up an essay on bugs in their products and how it's 'nothing to worry about'. Neither right off the bat offered any sort of initiative/remediation to make amends that I had to go through this. After I asked, well, what are you going to do about it, I was offered a $10 Dollarama gift card by their Incident Management/ Legal Affairs rep. , or Wonderful pistachios would offer me coupons for further purchases. I thought that a customer finding what looked like a maggot, mould and maggot eggs in food that was consumed would warrant an apology and something smarter than coupons for more purchases of the same product or a $10 gift card. I felt the response was inadequate given the situation. I basically told them they can keep the $10 because it's an insult considering what happened.

Sharing this story because I believe it's relevant to consumers to know how local companies handle incidents and so we can all make well informed decisions about who we give our money to. I and my family have shopped at these stores for 20+ years but will no longer be returning. I would rather pay a premium elsewhere than give business to this company.

Breaks

What would I be entitled to break wise. If I were to work at 3-10? And to confirm that is a 7 hour shift?

Edited to add: I’m quitting tomorrow, this job isn’t worth it. There’s been too many 🚩. This is a warning to those applying, a lot of shady practices, not including breaks and forcing you to stay past scheduled time.
