Minor disappointments with Osmo360

Just got my hands on the camera, and this is my first experience with 360 cameras. I found some minor disappointments in the following areas:
- Editing the footage is really tiresome, and a pretty steep learning curve (I have many years of editing experiences with normal footages and multiple platforms). Add that when I am using a normal phone and a normal laptop, with so many glitches and occasionaly the app crashes

- False advertising as underwater camera. DJI has the audacity to comment under a Youtube video, that is not the intended use of this camera. One of the main reason I bought this to record underwater footages(non-scuba).

- For a 1inch sensor, I expected better quality of videos, but thats not the case. The videos look over processed.

I appreciate any comments or guidance on this matter. Cheers.

Is Osmo360 dead product now? No firmware updates for 5 months?!

I noticed for the last 5months there have been no major firmware fixes, it seems like DJI has forgot about this product completely...

Is it normal for DJI to stop firmware updates when product is not even 1 year old? 😐

There are so many things that still need to be fixed... like single lens mode still looks horrible

Stitching black ring? Fix?

I was recording with my osmo 360 - 30 fps 8k with a pole attached and in the osmo editing the black ring doesn't show. But after exporting the black ring shows up. And it's only present on part of the footage not the whole thing. Does anyone know of a fix?

Per the title, the JPEG files from the osmo 360 are too compressed, single lens raw is also cropped so that also limits how it can be used, especially for architecture and tours. Please enable raw support for the camera soon!

Hugh Hou: Antigravity A1 better for social media than Avata 360

Lots of video comparissons here

Insta360 better compression codec

DJI less AI if you want to improve it with better AI yourself later in post-production

Antigravity A1 better for fast upload to social media. r/djiavata360 better if you want to tweak 10-bit 8k60 carefully for VR headsets

But take into account that Insta360 pays to Hugh Hou (more)

No news about Osmo 360 II nor Insta360 X6

I know all leaks as they happen.

And now it will be Mics time.

DJI Mic Mini 2 with magnetic covers vs Insta360 Mic Pro with adjustable display.

There are no new leaks about Insta360 X6 (CINSABXA) nor DJI Osmo 360 II (2ANDR-OQ0022512).

They are not super close.

Hi all. I'm wondering would it be worth buying it for recording rally cars. Like me as a spectator, standing on the roadside higher than the passing cars. If I hold it out over the car will I get it coming towards and driving away.

At the moment to get this footage I use my phone and trying to turn my wrist fast and keep everything in frame is difficult.

Cheers for any help.

Hello!

The 360 studio on laptop, just started using it today, it's pretty slow!?

For a minute or two video it takes a good 30 minutes or something to export?

10 mins has been 2 hours!

Is this normal?

I mounted djis heavy duty motorcycle mount on my motorcycle crashbars with dji quick release mount. I was wondering is this setup safe, ie is there a chance of my osmo 360 disembarking my motorcycle ungracefully, and therefore costing me a pretty penny? I can screw it in, but then every time I stop I need to unscrew it and screw it. So much screwing around, my mom thought me better than that.
So, will it fall off (the osmo 360) and do I need to get a cage for it and a teather?
BTW, I think it's a missed opportunity that osmo 360 doesn't have a teather hole (is that a dirty word?).

Hey everyone,

Hoping someone here can point me in the right direction, because I'm completely stuck.

I recently shot a batch of about 15 videos on the exact same day using my [DJI Osmo model]. Unfortunately, every single video from that day came out messed up. The footage is super laggy and keeps flashing black frames in between. In some sections, the screen just goes completely black for a few seconds.

Here is what I’ve tried/noticed so far:

  • I copied everything directly from the SD card to my computer's SSD. This is my usual workflow, and all my other videos transferred this exact same way are perfectly fine. It's only the videos from this specific day.
  • I tried importing the clips into DJI Studio to see if I could fix it. I even tried downscaling from HD to SD to see if it was a playback issue, but the lag is still there.
  • When I try exporting the clips, the black frames and the lag are baked right into the final render.

Has anyone experienced something like this before? What could be causing this? I'm trying to figure out if this was a glitch while recording, a failing SD card, or something that went wrong during the transfer to my SSD.

And most importantly, is there any way to recover or fix these files, or is this footage ruined for good?

Any advice or software recommendations would be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance.
