Not sure which parent took it, but this is probably the most aura I have in any photo I'm in
hii! ive always been into photography and i travel / take trips often so i decided to finally get a camera to be more present in my trips and to not overflow my phone storage.
im looking for something that will mainly take good nature / landscape pictures, here and there id use it for hang outs, bdays, indoors etc, thats compact, and at least a little beginner friendly. im not interested in anything w special lenses, and a bit of a clearer and warmer tone would be nice.
since itll be my first camera, id want it to be something i can learn to use over time and grow alongside it, and wont need to switch to a new one that soon. its also important to me that its at least a little budget friendly, since im a student.
i made a little list below of some options, so both thoughts on those, and any new recommendations are more than welcome!
[the lumix tz99 is highlighted since thats the only camera on the list that i can buy from a store and dont need to search around on reseller sites]
happy to answer any questions and hope to get some help / insight 🥹 im going to greece in sept so id love to practice with settings before that :)
I just bought a new camera off of eBay (Sony cyber shot dsc-300) and I love it except the pictures show up with a slight vignette-ish shadow at the bottom, and a glare as well.
I circled the two shadows which are in the bottom two corners and run along the bottom, and the glare which tends to appear in the middle bottom.
I figured out the glare is from light sources but I take a lot of pictures outside so it’s a bit annoying.
If anyone has any advice or tips to prevent this I would rly appreciate it!
(Also I’m away of the risks of buying used off eBay I got it for a good deal so I’m not too mad.)
I took these shots in a small Croatian village. Had a lot of fun with the camera. Got it for cheap and it's definitely more capable then I'd expect. It has a non removable 12× zoom lens with stabilization. The stabilization isn't good, but I didn't exactly have problems with it either.
At the time it came out, just about 19 years ago, it was a pretty decent pro-sumer camera.
It has an 8 megapixel 1/2.5" CCD sensor. The sensor is small and therefore fairly noisy, but it's pretty good with nice lighting.
It has a pretty powerful lens at 12× zoom, 6 - 72mm(36 - 432mm full-frame equvalent) f/2.7 - 8.0.
It is able to take pictures of the moon, but also very close macros. Im thinking of getting a tele-converter for it(TC-DC58B).
Unfortunately it doesn't support any raw formats, natively. The edges of the shots come out pretty soft, but overall a very pleasant experience, especially given the 20€ price I paid for it.
Took some pictures at my local park. I'm really happy with how they turned out. I also took some cool videos but I don't think they're allowed on this subreddit.
Hope you like them!
I just love my camera fr
I have used Lightroom for a creative look but the photos straight out of it also works wonders
im going to buy some other Digital Cameras at the end of the year, planning on buying a TRV or some CyberShots
all the models below:
-Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108 (5 bucks)
-Samsung Digital Camera SC-DC173U (4,70 bucks)
-Samsung Digital Camera SC-DC371 (3,00 bucks)
-JVC Everio GZ-MG130U (4,80 bucks)
-Panasonic SDR-T71 (5 bucks)
-Sony CyberShot DSC-TX5 (i already owned it)
all the cameras came without their batteries, oh and, my grandpa told me he has some digicams that i could have!!
Today, I just brought a multi card reader, and when I tried to use it with my phone (samsung s21 ultra), the things won't register, but when I use it with ipad the things work just fine.
Is there any fix or help?
It still charges perfectly fine from what I've seen (the lights are blinking as usual, indicating that it's charging) , I also made sure to charge it twice/overnight to see if it just was a slight error, even after I did that, it still won't turn on, yesterday it was completely working fine
“I’m planning to sell my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7.
It’s fully working and I have all the accessories with it.
What would be a fair price for it in 2026?
Would it sell better in India or internationally?”
