Defqon from 11AM till 11PM LOL???
I’m wondering why Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, which takes place in a field about 100 km from Amsterdam, starts in the late morning and ends around normal nighttime hours.
Since the festival is held in a relatively remote area, I assume there are very few houses and not many people living nearby.
My question is: why doesn’t the festival run from around 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM instead?
That schedule seems like it would make more sense because:
- the temperatures are lower in the evening and at night,
- it would be much more comfortable for attendees,
- there would be less risk of heat exhaustion or sun exposure,
- and people would still leave at sunrise.
Considering that Defqon.1 takes place at the end of June, when temperatures can be quite high, a later schedule seems more practical.
I would completely understand if the festival were located in the center of a city and had to end around 11:00 PM to avoid disturbing nearby residents and to comply with noise regulations.
But since the event is held in a remote location, I’m curious why the organizers choose to run it during the hottest part of the day instead of shifting the main program to the evening and overnight hours.
Quick question about charging phones at the campsite
Hey everyone!
This will be my first year attending Defqon.1 and I couldn't be more excited. I'll be bringing my own tent for the campsite. I'm already planning to bring a couple of power banks to keep my phone alive, but I want to be prepared just in case they run out.
Are there any designated charging stations, lockers with plugs, or specific spots around the campsite where we can charge our phones?
Thanks in advance, and see you all there!
Food/drink/bag rules?
This will be my first time at Defqon, so can anyone tell me what the rules are for bringing food/drink?
Are there limits to what can be brought to the campsite to keep in the tent?
What are the limits to what can be brought onto the festival grounds?
Is there a limit on bag size on the festival grounds?
I just dont want to have things planned and then have to throw it all away lol
Defqon
Does anyone ever come to the idea, for a meet on the holy grounds?
Basically a time on a spot for those Redditers who want to connect in real life ?
Shuttle bus to defqon from Dronten
Hi guys, first time at defqon this year, absolutely buzzing! I did have 1 question, so me and my brother are staying in Lelystad the night before, then getting the train to Dronten for the shuttle bus to Defqon. The main question we have is, what time should we get to Dronten? Is the queue massive for the shuttle buses from early in the morning? We want to get in the festival grounds as early as possible so we can set up, chill, and catch the early blue tent sets.
Thanks for any help in advance, and see you soon weekend warriors!👊
Cold Free showers
Hello it's my first time coming to defqon. I've read something about that there are cold Free showers? I was hoping someone could elaborate.
I was just curious if that was an option. Might handy if I really want one and there is substantial queues for hot ones.
Any other shower related advice is welcome and appreciated.
Some questions from a first time Warrior
First time Defqon attendee here and I had a bunch of questions for people who have gone before. Feel free to only answer some of my many questions.
I’m staying in The Queen accommodation in the Highlands and I keep hearing how hot it can get. I was thinking of bringing a reflective/aluminum tarp to put over the tent plus a small portable fan inside. Is that overkill or pretty normal for Defqon camping? The thing is, I plan on being on the festival grounds as much as I can (obviously) and don’t plan on chilling in the tent during the day.
I was also planning on bringing cooling patches, a hand fan, hat, etc. during the day. Any other heat survival recommendations?
For food/drinks, should I stop at a supermarket before arriving and stock up on snacks, water, Gatorade/electrolytes, and energy drinks? Or is bringing a lot of stuff more trouble than it’s worth?
I’m arriving via shuttle bus from Dronten station. How rough is the walk from the shuttle dropoff to the campgrounds with luggage? I’ll probably have a 20kg+ suitcase with camping gear, clothes, and supplies. Is the ground mostly gravel/dirt/grass?
How is tent security historically? Are thefts common enough that I should absolutely rent a locker for my passport, backup cards, spare cash, etc.? Or are tents generally pretty safe?
What’s the power situation like in the Highlands? Are there charging stations available or should I plan on bringing multiple large power banks for the whole weekend?
How are the showers and bathrooms? Should I bring my own soap, shampoo, toilet paper, wet wipes, etc.?
Also, what time does the festival/campsite usually open on Thursday? I’m trying to figure out how early I should arrive factoring in shuttle lines, setup time, crowds, and wanting to catch some of the earlier sets at The Blue?
As far as hearing protection goes, I’m looking at purchasing Loop Experience 2 Ear Plugs. Anyone have those same ear plugs that can vouch for their effectiveness or have alternative recommendations? They’ll be worn at the sets and when I go to sleep.
One last question: I’m about 170cm / 5’7”. At Defqon is it better to try getting close to the front because of taller crowds, or is being farther back actually a better experience for visuals and space?
Any general first timer advice is appreciated too.
Camera Policy?
Hello! I’m a Canadian going to defqon for the first time this year. I will be traveling in Belgium and a little bit of Netherlands before attending defqon, and naturally I would like to bring a camera (specifically the Sony Alpha 6000) on my trip to take photos. It’s not a DSLR camera, but mirrorless.
I’m assuming that Defqon will not allow me to bring my camera in, as most festivals usually don’t let people bring cameras in. I will be bringing all my belongings with me into Defqon to camp, and I’m worried they will deny me entrance because of a camera. If I can’t bring it in, does anyone have any suggestions on where I could leave my belongings in a locker somewhere in Amsterdam during the festival?
Any guidance is appreciated, thank you!!
Resell tickets?
So unfortunately we can’t travel to defqon anymore but what do I do with our tickets?
We have 4 travel and stay in a pyramid tent
Is it too late to sell? Wtf do I do? 😅
First-timer advice for Defqon.1 (Solo Traveler / First ever festival)

Hello, 28M from India here. I’m hitting Defqon1 for the first time this June and need some veteran advice. I'm traveling solo and will be midway through a 3-week trip across Europe.
Camping - How do i go about arranging for a tent, since i will not be able to take the tent back with me.
The 3-week fatigue - Since I’m on a long trip, should I keep the Wednesday/Thursday completely empty for rest before the madness? How drained will I be for the week after?
Must-Haves - What are the 3 non-negotiables I’ll regret forgetting? (Already have earplugs on the list).
Weather/Clothes - I know it’s summer, but how cold/wet does it actually get at the campsite at night? Is gym gear the move for the daytime?
5.Lockers - Do I need to pre-book a locker, or is it easy to get one on arrival?
Power Banks etc? - Will I able comfortably able to charge my devices? Should I carry multiple power banks?
Food/caffeine etc - Any food/related items to carry with myself to feed me through the day? I will carry electrolytes, protien bars, and some carbs for sure, but anything else? I just dont want a bad stomach or feel bloated. Also, can i carry my own redbulls inside or is it best to buy inside only?
Solo Tips - Any solo attendee groups i can be a part of? Or any other tips?
Looking forward to seeing you all on the Holy Grounds! #VictoryForever
Apologies in advance since this is a long post but please feel free to answer whatever you can help me on from above, if not all. Thanks and meet you there !
Hey hardstyles rave fam 🥰
My partner and I are heading to our first ever defqon from Australia next month!
I’ve been doing my research for what to expect, the experience ect but I can’t find a lot on outfits / what might be a little too much.
I’ve been to Knockout a few times, EDC LV, EDC Thailand + our other crappy Aussie festivals so I’m just wondering if outfits are like super relaxed or if I can turn it up in a one piece or not. (For the girlies I’m thinking like Badinka or rave wonderland) 👀🫡
Inspiration/ advice super welcome!! 🤗
Defqon 1 2026 Bracelets
Since we are approaching the day we will touch again our feet on the holy grounds, and since last year on this time we were start receiving our bracelets at home.
My question is, did anyone already received e-mails regarding shipping or already received the bracelet?
This will be my first Defqon (first festival ever actually) and I really love crafting kandi. I know there's not a kandi trade culture in Europe like there is over in the US, but would it be weird to bring some just to give to people I hang out with? Like I'm not expecting any back, I just dont know if people will think I'm weird for even bringing it lol
I’m talking if you don’t hear it, you leave the festival disappointed. For me, it’s Symphony of Life by Sefa x DBSTF.
Hi, I have tickets for the weekend. Are you worried about the fuel situation for the plane? Is there a chance the flight will be cancelled?
Timetable
Hi!
Thanks in advance >_<
does the q dance app allow someone to watch Defqon 1? I can't travel as no passport. Can I watch multiple stages or is it the Red Stage that is streamed xqlusive-ly. any help much appreciated. Go hard or go home 🤘
