Correct me if Im wrong but doesn't culver city have a small bus that takes people around the city for free? Am I thinking of somewhere else?
Any recommendations for a great men’s haircut spot in the WeHo / BH / SaMo / Venice / Marina / Brentwood area for mid-to-long hairstyles? (think Michael Douglas, Brad Pitt, Christian Bale type lengths/styles — not fades or super short cuts).
Looking for someone who’s a true artist with scissors — not a rushed fade shop. Prefer someone who mainly uses scissor techniques (ideally no buzzers/clippers), pays attention to detail, and really understands shape, flow, texture, and longer men’s hair.
Specifically hoping to find someone who works well with wavy hair, values maintaining fullness, and avoids over-texturizing or thinning. Extra points if they’re great with soft, natural layered longer styles.
Thank you!!!
If you haven't been downtown today for the car show, it's a thriving environment with lots of people walking around the area and enjoying the lack of moving cars. This is what downtown CC should always be like, at least on weekends! #haveToDream
(58 Seconds) Main Street in Culver City, California with The Culver Hotel in the distance, 1934 vs now. Here's a quick excerpt from my new then and now filming locations documentary video of the filming locations used in the Our Gang / The Little Rascals movie Honky Donkey. The full video is now up at https://ChrisBungoStudios.com
Technically palms but I know a lot of culver commuters consider it so offering a warning.
They delete all real google reviews so wanted to shed some light here.
construction zone nightmare: between the restaurant they are building on the first floor the rooftop mini “pool” and the building next door you will live with constant noise disruptions, alarms going off and flooding in the building. I have lived here for 2 years and there is no end in sight they are always building doing something closing the garage entrance etc. such a pain in the ass
living there is expensive but everything inside the unit is cheap af. I’ve had to have my dishwasher and refrigerator replaced twos. Everything inside the units is worse than IKEA quality
the building is poorly constructed so you hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors surrounding you and the street outside not matter how high up you are. And overland is very busy street
Living here is an overpriced nightmare and there is no change I would ever pay the premium they are charging now to live here.
Wow, seems like the plaza with the pavilions will be getting a five below! How exciting
i know that its open on weekends but just not sure if its open during the week.
Went all the way down Venice BLVD toward the back of Helms 🫠 I still have quite mixed feelings on this but really just here to report the absurdity of the line. More exciting - Folks Pizzeria and Hayama appear to be open. Anyone been yet? Also curious if anyone knows what will eventually go in the Helms Bakery Space.
Hi everyone! I moved to LA last year and stayed in the Baldwin Hills area and go to work in Culver City. My lease ends in a month and I'm looking for a new place to move. From living at my current spot, I found that living near the metro is a huge plus since I don't need to use my car to work, or even to get to the LAX airport as well. However, I found the neighborhood to be kind of sketchy, plus I'm not a fan of traffic noise since I sleep very lightly. I'm a homebody as well, so accessibility to outside entertainment doesn't matter that much to me.
My budget is $2,700. From my brief search, it looks like Vox apartments checks most of the boxes since I currently pay $2,500 and Vox offers a rent special that brings it down to my budget. It's also even closer to work via metro and seems is safer/luxury.
Let me know what you guys think. Is there anything I should know or apartments I could check out? Thanks!
Reposting to help my sweet landlord with scheduling showings on my behalf. Looking for someone to take over my lease so I can help with my mom’s declining health. Move-in June 1st. Pet Friendly. Located on a cul-de-sac walking distance to shops, restaurants, a park and all that Helms district has to offer. Full kitchen with appliances, granite counter tops, dining area, full bath, hardwood and tiled floors throughout. Studio comes with a detached space in the back of the complex that could be used for storage, office or any other creative ideas. It’s the size of a bedroom! Complex has a total of 5 units tucked away in a suburban neighborhood.
1 mile walk to downtown Culver City and right next to Helms Bakery, where the new Ikea is. An 11-minute walk to Whole Foods and access to the metro line. Right next to the bike trail with just a 6-mile ride to the beach. Great neighbors, quiet, and kind landlords. Unable to hear my neighbors inside the apartment.
Parking is on the street that doesn’t require a permit. Always been able to get a spot easily for both myself and a guest.
No A/C or laundry hookups. Does have a heater. Studio is nice and bright. Front door faces north with lots of indirect light and the kitchen/bathroom face south getting direct sunlight.
Hi!
I am looking into modern animal for my dogs vet services. I’m wondering if people think it’s worth it? I understand the yearly plans, but when it comes down to updating vaccines, routine dental cleaning, and other fees, do you think it’s worth it or are there better options in/around culver? Thank you!!

I live in Palms and hear that ice cream truck that goes “HELLOOO?!” all the time. Has anyone tried it?
Working on putting together a meetup where companies come in with one real problem they're working through, and we match them with AI practitioners and builders who have hands-on experience in that specific area - not just enthusiasts, people who have actually built and shipped this stuff.
Maybe even have a speaker or two do a talk on latest things happening in AI.
Need a company with office space that would want to host. Ideally someone who's already into the AI space and would get value from having that crowd in their building. I'm from Culver City and would love to partner with a local company.
Anyone have a connection or work somewhere that might be down?
About me: I'm pretty deep in the AI world helping companies with AI adoption and keep running into the same thing. A lot of them feel behind and don't know where to start. Trying to build something that helps more of them get up to speed faster.
Also looking to connect with AI experts and practitioners in the LA area who'd want to be part of this - drop a comment or DM me.
I was walking my dog on leash at the Mar Vista park and two off leash dogs came up and attacked my dog. I was leaving the park, and they both ran up to him snapping, growling, getting in his face. Once I got home I saw that my dog had a HUGE bite on his back right leg. (He’s super fluffy so it’s hard to see). I realized it too late and couldn’t go back and find the owner. We took him to the vet and he has one large bite and one smaller one. It’s going to take weeks to heal and he’s having trouble walking.
The owner was a brunette white woman, around middle age. The more aggressive dog was a medium sized Shepard, black and white with a new summer cut, so his hair and ears were pretty short. The other dog had apricotish fur, medium sized.
I just want to warn everyone as they were off leash and clearly very aggressive. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else’s dog! This happened on Monday morning (5/4) around 10:30AM. Please be careful.
Hello all, long time lurker here, let me know if this not allowed I'll remove it. I moved to Culver last year in January for work but alas my job closed earlier this Febuary and I've been applying everywhere, and at this point I'm running out of gas. All I got was rejection and ghosts, even as a dishwasher I got not response.
I'm a hardworker and I adapt and learn super fast with new jobs. I used to work retail and was a store manager before the store closed.
I am getting desperate and any help or pointing towards the right direction would help immensely.
I have resume available as well.
Thank you so much!
We're in the process of purchasing a home in the Culver City / West LA areas. Our agent showed us a few properties behind the high school stadium. It was pretty quiet during the showings, but I'm assuming that this area gets pretty loud and congested during games and events?
Not sure how frequent games and events are and it's near the end of the school year so not much going on, so figured I'd ask the local Reddit for any insight on noise and any other concerns about this area. Thanks.
Looking for new places to try around the area 😝
