Cracked the cap to my 2013 1.8 Cruze. Any idea how I can get it off?

Just picked up this cosmetically MINT 2012 chevy cruze Eco 6MT up for $500. never owned one. I’m a car salesman, and my customer needed a new car because 4th gear is non existent anymore and she didn’t want to put money into it anymore.
first thing i noticed, gas mileage is absurd even without 4th.
2nd thing is the AC blows incredibly cold.
I was going to flip it right away, thinking i could get atleast $1500 based off the condition of the body and engine.
Worked on a quite a bit. It was mixing oil and water. Did the typical oil cooler replacement but that didn’t fix it. I go ahead and do the timing cover gasket and it still didn’t fix it! So just decided to pull the motor to expect the block and found no cracks or any possible indicator. So I’m just going to throw a new head on it and pray that it works. Still gotta put the motor back in but I’ll give you guys an update if it works out! (Btw I live in California and these engines are now $1900. They used to be $800)
i would NEVER dare buy another cruze but godDAMN did i love this one to death
Blew the water outlet
It gave me its life, I got it at 68K miles in college, family helping me buy it, it was a Hertz rental before me. Went down for the count plenty of times but always came back to life. Today it finally died for good. Thanks for everything White Horse/Lazarus, we had a hell of a run together. See you on the other side, or in hell 🤣 I knew this day was coming, and probably this year. It felt like it was a long-term marriage, fighting and back and forth, and I feel like someone died today.
Here are the codes in the pic. They swear there’s no issues with the wires, no cracks, just an internal turbo problem.
Could be a few things from my very minimal knowledge. I just asked them a few of these via email and waiting on a reply. Am I asking the right questions?
Is the wastegate loose or sticking? Is there shaft play in the turbo? Any oil in the intercooler piping? Are there accompanying PCV issues?
I'd wanna know that before dropping $4k on a 10 year old car ya know since it’s a 2016 and they quoted $3800 to replace the turbo
Had to replace the turbo last summer, and it was showing signs of early transmission wear. But aside from that, it never left me on the side of the road. And it was exactly what I needed at the time. I truly learned a lot from this car. But I will likely never purchase another.
We have a 2014 Chevy cruze 1.4L turbo with 90k miles (that I've been wanting rid of for years but... I digress lol).
We've put $1400 into it in a month. Alternator (something fell off? Idk I'm not a car person) some sensors, valves, fixed and recharged the A/C. That was $800. Got it back and the check engine light was flashing. It went back, codes said turbo so we had the turbo replaced, and the thermostat housing and a couple other little things. Another $600.
It still isn't running well and there are lots of noises lol. Our mechanic had us come out, showed us what else was going on. Now it's the intake manifold and water pump. My mechanically inclined family members agreed. We were quoted around $1000 to fix it.
It KBBs for 5-6k in good running condition. We are buying a new car tomorrow and plan to sell this one. What would you consider a reasonable price to sell it for? There's a lot of "car" people around here who would probably take on the project. We're open to buying the parts, too and throwing those in?
I just have no idea where to even start. Thanks!
ETA: I said "I'm sick of this car, if someone gives us $1000 I'm more than happy to be done with it" and my husband disagrees. Haha.
My grandparents downsized cars and sold me this for 3 grand. got only 117 on the clock and never had any major issues (not sure if thats a good or bad thing). I hope not, but from the sounds of it I am in for a "Fun Time" with this.
When I turned 15 I got my dad's 2015 Chevy Cruze and while it has been great, for whatever reason the 2015 model doesn't have bluetooth for the radio. Originally I had bought a little bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter which worked fine for about 3 years but recently it has been getting a lot of interference and none of the old fixes are working anymore. I been debating whether or not it is worth it for me to replace the head unit all together and just get something that as android auto and car play or if I should just buy a new bluetooth transmitter. Im gonna attach a picture of the transmitter and a video of the issue that I have. If anyone has any suggestions for which head unit I should get or any fixes for my problem that would be greatly appreciated!
Any information or experience people have with this would be great to know.
Watched some videos, but replacing the turbo myself is outside my skill level. Oh how i envy people that can do their own car repairs.
My 2017 Cruze has 90k miles on it now. Transmission was serviced last summer. At first everything was fine, but then within a few weeks to a month the car was shifting hard again. Also once the weather got cold, I noticed the car STUGGLES to get into 3rd gear. It will attempt to shift 4-5 times but fails. It sounds like it’s just about to, but then the RPMS drop slightly and go right back to where they were. Is this a result of my transmission being underfilled or overfilled? Or could this thing just be on its way out already?
Automatic 6speed 2017 Cruze 1.4
Today was the day. I finally hit the 200,000 mile marker. For the other 4 people in the 200k mile club: I’m happy to be here.
Front, left, large bottom hose. (Wet,
& swollen) Which hose is this?
Hi guys! I own a 2013 chevy cruze RS and today the ac just completely stopped blowing any air. when i turn on the ac i can hear it engage in my engine but nothing happens. has anyone had this issue and if so what was it?
Hi all. I need assistance diagnosing a possible coolant leak. I found a wet spot underneath the car thinking it was oil. But the color and odor lead me to believe it is coolant. There is a small to medium amount of coolant on top of what I think is the thermostat housing. I’ve never had to work on this coolant leak but I want to be sure before I start working on it. Thanks
I replaced the turbo on my 2015 1.4 two weeks ago, and the coolant manifold yesterday. My commute is about 40ish miles one way. Shes been burning a bit of oil every time I check up under the hood. Its not a lot, but its enough to be concerning. All lines are connected and tightened down enough. Does anyone have insight on what's going on? Only other thing I think it might be is the oil pan gasket has a small leak.
