What Common Crossword Answer Do You Get Sick Of?

Wondering what common crossword clue/answers you’ve gotten sick of over the years.

For me it’s “ade” as the answer for anything to do with citrus or summer coolers 😹

Thanks to u/UsefulEngine1 for a bit of an unexpected, last minute win in the play offs last night, so sorry for the delayed start this week.

In honour of this clue getting downvoted, and then my protest at it getting downvoted getting downvoted, this week's theme is puerile innuendo.

It goes without saying that it might be NSFW this week, but kudos if clues are actually clean and any rudeness is purely in the potty-minded eye of the beholder.

Take it any way you want.

Beginner SOS - Can anyone help me understand this answer?

I was reading some of the old articles for beginner solvers in the Guardian

But I'm so stumped at the explanation for this clue:

>

"where >!the last five letters are reversed!< for the memorable answer >!MEMOIR!<"

I don't understand which letters it's talking about and now this clue is stuck in my head like a brainworm. Can anyone help?

(edit: sorry, realised the actual clue wasn't included when I first posted. Fixed now)

TOTW: Anti-grams

Thanks to PierreSheffield for picking my innocent little clue as the winner from his NSFW-ish contest.

For this week, the theme is Anagram Misdirection aka Anti-grams -- by which I mean clues that *look* like they utilize anagrams but don't.

Of course misdirection is less effective when we all know the brief, but let's see who can come up with the most anagram-signaling non-anagram clue.

18A Policeman about to go into inner working of old scientist (10)

Has anyone else seen a spelling error in this answer an A instead of a U, or did i just mess up again!!

Don't give the answer as this is a still open prize puzzle. Just confirm or deny the spelling error.

Thanks to u/deeppotential123 for picking my politics inspired clue last week. Keir will probably have more difficult questions to answer by the conclusion of this round.

This week I have chosen 27A which seems to allow for many well known words. I will return late next Sunday, after dealing with other matters to decide who will receive the mother lode of kudos.

Good luck everyone!
