I'm getting into this cryptic thing. I solved yesterdays Times daily and am sharing my results including my wordplay breakdown. Bare in mind I am a relative newbe, so there nay be some errors. Living and learning!
I completed The Daily Telegraph #31236 including all of the wordplays. I'm a relative beginner, but got through them all, except for 12A Inventor put back float on and off (5) , I could not get the wordplay to match the answer.
If there is a more experienced solver out there who could take a look at my solution.

Inventor put back float on and off (5)
Answer is TESLA, but I cannot figure out the wordplay. Looks like there should be a letter selection and a reversal. Help!!!
Hi,
I'm planning on reviving the "Dataset of Cryptic Crossword Clues" that was maintained by George Ho, up until 2022. This was suggested by u/cjrmartin I have reached out to George by email to see if he has any concerns or advise.
I have already pulled the Indicators and Synonym data base and made it available in a user friendly search form. I plan to solve the Times and Telegraph puzzles daily and any new entries will be added. I have also started accumulating common abbreviations.
You can check it out here: https://www.cryptic-trainer.com/conventions
If anyone has an interest in this please reply. Any and all help welcomed.

Has anyone else seen a spelling error in this answer an A instead of a U, or did i just mess up again!!
Don't give the answer as this is a still open prize puzzle. Just confirm or deny the spelling error.
