Day one and 2 of my first cross stitch ever 😃❤️
My aunt saw me working on a couple projects last time I visited her and she requested one of her own. Of course I got right to it! I’m pretty happy with how this turned out, it’s the first project that I’ve kept in the hook to hang so I’m excited to see how she likes it! I do still need to put some gray check around the edges of the raw seam, but I wanted to show off first!
It’s evening and I’m back in my room, sitting on my bed scrolling through my phone, looking at silk neckerchiefs online. They look so smooth, shiny, and fancy. I really like them because they’re simple but look really elegant at the same time. Then I started thinking about prices, since luxury stuff is usually expensive. I checked a few fashion sites and saw some have "sale" tags, but only for certain colors or while stocks last. It got a bit confusing though, because I noticed the same item sometimes has different prices on different pages and I don't get why. I went searching for discounts on different apps and sites like Alibaba and other stores. There are so many offers—seasonal sales, clearances, limited time deals—but it just made me more unsure. Some look like real savings, but others feel like tricks where they just mark up the original price so the discount looks bigger. Now I’m stuck deciding: should I wait for a sale or just buy one now? I really want one soon, but saving money is important too. I’m just wondering if luxury silk scarves ever actually get properly discounted, or if sellers just adjust the prices beforehand so it looks like a deal even though the real cost is pretty much the same. Especially since I want something good quality that looks nice for everyday wear, traveling, or different outfits.
Just getting started and already loving the calm this brings 😊
I cross stitched this colorful sunflower!
Pattern is from Happyxcraft on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1793443145/easy-sunflower-cross-stitch-pattern-pdf
Finished this one and so happy! Needed to crop the pattern a bit t fit in the oval frame. Messed up counting more than once but it was all worth it 👻
I completed this sweet baby deer eating blueberries and framed it! I got the pattern from Hobby House Needleworks in NY. Pattern source: I don’t have the pattern anymore and I’m not sure what the brand was, but it was $35. My first cross stitch project!!
Update to my last post. Just finished the piece with 2 strands left of my background color 😁🥳.
Hello! I’m fairly new to embroidery and cross stitch (did some 25 years ago but beginning to get back into it). I have an idea in my head of a cross stitch pattern I’d love to do, but have no idea how to make myself. Anyone know of someone who can help execute an idea I have?
This is only my 2nd ever finished project (1st was a bookmark) and my first original design. The design is a reference to an inside joke from our trip to Italy, so it’s basically some art to hang in her office to commemorate our trip. I think she’ll like it for the sentimental value, but I don’t love the design. There are some parts I love, but I think maybe I overdid it with the backstitching? What do y’all think? Is there anything you would do to improve it?
The first pic is the FO and the 2nd pic is from WIP last time I asked the sub for advice.
My second ever stitch. I planed to extend the frame and add the monster name below it, but now I first need to see if I can finish the top part and then find a new fill color in the bag
Here are some of my latest finished keepsake boxes. The pansy one has already been gifted as a last-minute present for my kid’s teacher 🙂
I still have five mini patterns left from the set, so I’m hoping to stitch the full collection soon.
I shared the completed cross stitch the other day. This is the finished product. It's not as neat as I'd hoped but my son will love it 😍
Would appreciate anyone being able to tell me what type of stitch this is or some examples of it.
Thank you!
