r/crawling

Was adjusting the servo horn on my new trx4m and putting everything back together and the steering link seems oddly far from the horn and has to bend upwards when screwed down. Did I do something wrong?

Looking for a smaller scaler

Hello all,

I already have a fms fcx18, capable yet not really what I'm looking for.

The monster truck stance with the portal axles is just something I don't like.

I'm searching for something that can be used on some trail riding, preferably scale looking with straight axles, maybe lead sprung and a hard body. In a smaller scale, I like the wander of in the woods and would like to carry it on my bicycle.

At the moment the fms 1/12 scale FJ45 or Rochobby Magnum are appealing to me, but aftermarket parts and the possibility to upgrade are things I'm worried about.

Are there some other brand/cars that might check some boxes?

This is not really a hobby of mine, but something I like to do, budget I would like to spend (without upgrading) would be around €300.

Thanks in advance.

Rc crawling and rc drift?

I'm looking for a good budget/beginner crawler that I can also attach a trailer to, so I can transport my rc drift car around at events so I'm not constantly shredding my drift cars tyres in a day. I'm not sure what scale to get as my rc drift car is a 1/10 scale car, and as for a trailer I have no idea where to begin.

Any help is appreciated

Starting our course

I just felt like sharing. My 7 year old son and I started building our course today for our 24th scale crawlers. I own a very small piece (about 50 ft x 50 ft) of very steep wooded land so this course will have a lot of loops and switchbacks. I'm thinking of making themes for each section (gold mine, etc.) It was super fun and it really shows how capable our crawler are. I'm super sore since I carried 5 pails of rock to this location but I'm so excited to get a good start and keep building it for the next few years. There is a giant rock the size of a car on the corner of my property. I cant wait to tie that in some day. My son has tons of great ideas!

Weighed my FCX24 today before I put my brass wheels and portal covers on the back and noticed it weighs A LOT. Is this ok? Or am I going to start breaking stuff?

Trying something different

Last sections of the course i used plaster cloth over the styrofoam this time i found a tube of plaster at work so have nothing to lose if it dont work. i layed it on the thicker side not to think tho didnt want it to shrink and crack to much. Then i used a paper towel and dabbed it to get some texture on it might do a second layer on the climb on the styrofoam section. The spray foam seams cover well

How’s this build sheet

I want to know if this is a good idea (before you tell me no I already ordered everything)

I have an scx10 ii deadbolt with straight axles

Scx10 ii injora Lcg chassis kit

Injora 100mm oil filled shocks

Coreless servo

Hobby wing quick run 1060 esc

Injora 550 21t motor

Injora 1.9 beadlocks

Injora 1.9 crawling tires

And then the rest of the parts I’m recycling off my old rig

Will it be capable do you think I think so because it’s servo on axle and the straight axles will provide low center of gravity

Also can someone tell me what axles these are so I can look for brass
