Captured on Maxdone TrailCam in our backyard, about 12 minute drive from Downtown Los Angeles. This spot gets activity from possums, Coopers Hawks, raccoons, and many coyotes.
I am not good in english so forgive me on that. I saw a yt video that explains the birthplace of canidaes, americas. also not very well educated about animals at all just a guy who wants to learn more about canidaes. they are cool animals.
This question is for all americans who have experienced with coyotes. it says that coyotes are good at thriving in the jungles but the yt video didnt show any coyotes living deep in the jungles just the outskirts. Are coyotes good at thriving at the jungles? i assume canids are mostly good in open field and scattered forest.
She's always out after a fresh snow so I brought my camera on my morning walk!
We often see solo coyotes on our chicken coop camera but this pair showed up last night. The first one looks pregnant to me. Nothing to do about it, my hens stay locked up, cats stay indoors and the dog will keep peeing on top of their marks until the end of time.
tonight a pack of coyotes was running by, on the trail behind my apartment and they were all screaming. you could hear multiple, i counted 3 at least, and we saw a baby coyote running across the road. this has started happening often late at night this year. is this how they howl? i could only assume its how they howl, but they sound distressed..
This guy was in the backyard. Google lens pulled up a red wolf picture also but they've been essentially extinct in our area for a long time. Maybe its a hybrid descendant or maybe just a bog-standard coyote.
Chicago suburbs. Usually when I run into them they vacate pretty quickly but this guy did not have a care. Beautiful full coat. 10 minutes later ran into a second one on the move (third pic). A bit smaller and scruffier but still a beautiful animal.
This coyote has been living in the area I live since 2023. I’ve watched him grow from a young pup, to a fully grown male. He has made his den in wooded area adjacent to a parking of a well known local pub/inn. It’s clear from his behavior that he’s been fed by passerby’s to the pub and he comes around to look for scraps after hours. He’s become such a common sight the locals named him Charlie. Recently he went missing for several weeks, and many of the locals, including myself feared that he may have perished. But, he made an appearance from his denning area this week, and everyone was celebrating his return.
We do definitely have foxes around our property and hear coyotes regularly.
